Live: Remain Alive, Be Alive at a Specified Time, Have an Exciting or Fulfilling Life

Rate this book
There's a big difference between being alive and knowing how to truly live. To be alive is something that happens to you. But to truly live is something you get to choose each day. As Robertson says, When you truly learn to live the life God offers, your whole existence becomes a verb. In Live, Sadie Robertson inspires us to thrive in the life God gave us by making choices that will lead us into the fullness He has for us, not into the emptiness the world offers. With full-color photography and captivating design, Live shows us how we can find a rich and rewarding life when we choose to wholeheartedly embrace God's ways and God's truth. Moments of decision greet everyone, sometimes on a more-than-daily basis. Some of those decisions are minor and others are life-altering, but all serve as stepping-stones to peace, joy, and fullness or to disappointment and emptiness. Sadie is passionate about inspiring a generation to live in that fullness every day. Included is material on overcoming jealousy, finding confidence, dealing with haters, waiting on God, living in victory instead of defeat, discovering the power of words, and knowing how to tell the difference between what leads to life and what leads to death―so young people can make the best choices. Whether you have a long-time relationship with God or are new to faith, Live is a joyful encouragement to make the most of each moment, to make wise decisions, and to always seek the truth of God's Word. Filled with stories and biblical principles, Live celebrates what everyone has in common―the opportunity to not simply be alive, but to truly live.

I love Sadie Roberston and her podcast is one of the few I listen to. When I saw this on my library’s audio page I thought I’d give it a try. I liked it, but I honestly prefer her podcasts. I think if she would have narrated it, it would have made it better, but overall just okay for me.

I listened to this as an audiobook. It’s the first Christian I’ve read in quite some time. I’ve heard Sadie Robertson has written great books. This is the first book I’ve read by her. It was an amazing book. I recommend it to any teenager or young adult.
Key points covered: awareness of negativity on social media, worthiness, negativity from others, and self growth

Live⭐️
This book is all about reconnecting with yourself and figuring out the best way live fully to not just live but to thrive.

From the princess diaries, to conversations with five year olds, waiting periods to haters and family. Sadie covers it all beautifully. I really enjoyed all the pictures as well. It gave the story more life!

(Never in my life has I had so many people ask what book im reading and i almost always have a book under my arm. But today I had 6 people, both strangers and friends ask me about my book. And what a great book to tell them about.)

Have you ever read a book where you feel like it’s hitting every point where you are struggling in life? That was this book for me. The amount of times I felt like I was being slapped in the face with another piece of life advice was actually crazy. (In the absolute best way possible)

I think my favorite parts through this book were whenever it was talking about comparison. That is a major thing in the world I feel like so many girls struggle with, including myself. Sadie’s outlook on comparison changed my perspective of how I view myself and others 100%

this book is truly eye-opening. it taught me SO many lessons to apply to my own life.
here are a few of my favorites:
- when you are waiting for something good to happen, don’t put your life on hold. live in the season of waiting.
- only Gods opinion of you matters
- your life starts when you face your fears
- your whole life doesn’t need to be posted on social media. just live in the moment

"No matter what your waiting season looks like, no matter how dead your dreams may feel right now, and no matter how awkward it may feel to start dancing, worshiping, and praising God, I encourage you to do it.

I am very picky about nonfiction, but after striking out with several fiction books I tried and worrying I was headed for a slump, I decided to give this a try. I'm very glad this is one of the way-too-many books I checked out from the library right before it closed for quarantine because I loved it. Sadie is someone who I have admired and looked up to for years now. This is actually the first of her books that I've read, but I can't wait to read the other two now. What she wrote was very applicable to my life right now, but I felt it was very timely for the world we live in as well. I didn't get the patronizing, "do this and everything will be perfect!" vibe that some books have. It was just honest advice from her heart and her experience. I definitely recommend it.

I know Sadie has great intentions with this book but it was hard to get through the whole thing. The photography and design of it was so cute but the content was super cliche.

My second time reading this book, and it’s still so full of truth and lessons. I absolutely love Sadie Rob-Huff. Her books, especially this one and Live Fearless, have helped me through some really hard and dark times. God has really given her a gift and I am so thankful for that. I totally recommend this book to anyone who’s fallen out of love with life and is just at a really low point.

This book was so good! This makes me appreciate Sadie so much more🩷 she’s so incredibly talented, smart, and knowledgeable. When I tell you I needed this book, that’s an understatement. I was pretty depressed when I started this, and to be honest, I was skeptical. This book is soooo good and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone!

“The very place where fear is found is the very place that fear will be conquered”

Wow this book was so beautiful. It really opened my eyes to how the world views us vs how God views us and how to truly live. I really enjoyed listening to it as an audiobook and I think I enjoyed it more than I would have reading it. I would highly recommend this book.

Even if you don’t relate or agree with everything, something I can relate to, it is highly imperative in understanding and benefiting your walk through life with God. It has helped me think and act more positively in my day to day life as well!

I am hoping to read her Live Fearless book sometime soon too!

This was such a good book!

The story Sadi shared that was inspired by the prodigal son was really impactful and made me cry. I loved the real life stories Sadi shared about living and fighting against fear and what other people think or say.

I love reading Sadi’s books and listening to her podcast: WHOA that’s good podcast! Years ago I hosted a book club with me, my sister and bestie over zoom to read Live Fearless (the first book I read by her). That was a really impactful book even just in being able to grow in my speaking skills in front of people (by hosting) which was a big fear of mine. Sadi really feels like a “big sister” and I’m always really inspired by her.

This book is a call to live life to the fullest in Jesus Christ. Live in freedom. Live with purpose. Live with the fullness of joy. Live in God’s peace! What a wonderful message!

While this wasn't particularly powerful for me, it was a very good book! And I would recommend it to many people.

Pros:
--> Easy read.
--> Short chapters that make for great daily devotionals.
--> Sadie's fun, honest writing style.
--> Such optimism and hope and cheeriness!
--> Nuggets of truth - some of which hit me hard.

Cons:
--> Not very deep or profound, especially for someone like me. (But this wouldn't be a con for someone who was newer in their faith, younger, etc.)
--> Somewhat repetitive, but not badly.

Content: A few mentions of drugs and such (definitely as negative). A mention or two (possibly more, but I don't remember exactly) of sex (not ever discussed or portrayed from an unbiblical view, though).

Recommendation: 13+.

I don’t think that it is a coincidence that I read this book at this time in my life. I’ve read Sadies other books but this is the one that hit me hard. It seemed like she hit on almost all the issues I’ve been struggling with and it was a great reminder to live; and not just live life but to live life for God because He is constant and never-changing.

I would 10/10 recommend this book to everyone. We all need a little reminder now and then that even on our worst days, life is still worth living because of God.

The good.
Sadie Robertson is an amazing storyteller! I love how she takes story’s that she went through and tells her audience what the LORD got her through!
The bad.
Nothing super bad, but we don’t share the same biblical views, so every now and then I disagree with her on a topic.
Overall, this book was pretty good, I don’t know if I would really recommend this book, but if you have been wanting to read it, I say “Go for it!”

This book was amazing! I love learning from people like her who aren’t that much older than me. It helps me feel understood as a teenager, especially since she was a teenager herself not that long ago. She showed me that other people, including her, go through the same feelings I do and how we are supposed to overcome them with God. She also shared some actions we can take when we feel a certain way so that we can stay focused on Him.

This book is so good!! I’ve really been encouraged by it and it’s helped me push myself outside my comfort zone and sets a good daily reminder to be joyful in every circumstance. (Because man, sometimes life is hard!)
Age rating: 13+ (just so it’s easier to relate in those teen years)
I would also say this book is geared more towards girls then guys fs. But I highly recommend!

took me an additional year & then some to finish (thanks to an interstate move 1/2 way through) but sadie robertson does no wrong 🫡🫡

as a christian who has been struggling with my faith recently, sadie’s writing immediately helped me realize how beautiful & encompassing God’s love is, and how his blessings encourage us to living fully
