Safe Haven - Rise of the RAMs

The planet has succumbed to a monstrous virus. Those who die from the infection return as savage predators hell-bent on spreading the virus to the rest of the human population. The UK and Ireland are the last hold-outs, but when the infrastructure supporting their self-imposed quarantine collapses, it's everyone for themselves.

Mike Fletcher and his sister Emma live in Leeds. With the city’s streets overrun by the dead, their only option is to flee. They take their younger siblings and set off to find their last remaining relative in the far north-west of Scotland.

As they travel north they encounter other survivors – but who can they trust? Their terrifying journey will require them to confront horrors both human and inhuman, in the outside world and within themselves. Will they ever find a safe haven?

Safe Haven: Realm of the Raiders

A virus has swept across the planet turning people into flesh-craving zombies. The UK and Ireland were the last to fall, but now the virus has won. Cities are infested with the undead. To stay is to die.

Having fled Leeds, Mike Fletcher and his family thought they had found a safe haven in the island village of Candleton. But their peace was fleeting and others want what they have. Now they find themselves in a fresh fight for their lives; battling armies of vicious raiders and fast, relentless zombies.

Horror and tyranny reign in this new world and a war is looming on the horizon that only the bravest will choose to fight. The time has come to take a stand. The time has come to find a new kind of hero.

Safe Haven - Reap of the Righteous

Civilisation has crumbled in a matter of months. Now, fast-moving zombies and merciless raiders wreak havoc over the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Nowhere is safe. Death and terror lurk in shadow and daylight. The weak will fall, and only the strongest will survive.

Mike Fletcher and his family have battled through this dystopian wilderness to try and find sanctuary in the northwest region of Scotland. They thought they had succeeded. But now, a new horror has found them.

When the odds are insurmountable...when the fear is uncontrollable...when the pain of loss is unbearable, there are just two choices: fall to your knees or stand taller than you ever have before.

This war will decide the future. This war will decide everything.

I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.

I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.

In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

The Safe Haven Box Set (Books 1 to 3 in the Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Horror Series) by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton is where it’s at! Highly recommend this series if you are a zombie fan, new to the Artinian bandwagon (or looking for a refresher), or want one narrator for the series.

Book 1: It’s the beginning of the zombie apocalypse and Mike and his siblings learn they are not as safe in the quarantine zones at those in charge are leading everyone to believe. They make their way to their grandmother’s house in Scotland, meeting some good and some horrible people along the way. The first book is a little slow moving compared to the rest of the series- do yourself a favor and stick with it if you find yourself thinking this.
Book 2: Mike and his entourage are settling into their new location, but it’s not long before it’s under attack and things get complicated. You get zombies (descriptions are excellent), action, blood and gore, betrayal, love, family, bad guys, losses and gains, weapons, character growth, killer rats, and more. Even the minor characters add to the story all in a good way, especially Humphrey (the dog).
Book 3: The group is attempting to live a relatively normal life in Scotland until some demented folks arrive with nefarious plans. New characters are added to Mike’s group. This book has more of a focus on surviving the crazies and contains a lot of fast-paced action (don’t worry, there is Z action too). We learn a little more of Mike’s history and also get a look into Fry’s deranged mind.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, did a wonderful job. She brings the characters to life with a nice variety, has a good pace, and is easy-to-listen to. Def recommend giving her a listen.

If you enjoy a mix of character-driven and plot-driven elements, character development, characters that are not perfect or have a real person feel to them, and fast-paced action to your zombie story, this is the series for you. I love that the stories intertwine with his other series, The End of Everything. One thing is for sure, the series will continue to WOW you as it progresses.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: The entire series takes place in the zombie apocalypse- death, torture, kidnapping for sex/forced sex work, swearing, weapons, violence, suicide, previous war mentioned, and other similar things may occur.

*I was given a free review copy of the audiobook box set at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you for allowing me to listen and review the books!

This series is what started my love of the Zombie genre. Well-written, with great characters, Mr. Artinian has created a world full of everything you want in books involving zombies.

Mike Fletcher and his family are just trying to stay alive after zombies start roaming the countryside. Unfortunately, his stepfather, Alex, is slowly dying due to the infection. The first part of the book is very poignant as Mike and his sister Emma have to deal with Alex as he becomes one of the undead.

Soon, they must leave their home, taking their two younger siblings with them, in hopes of reaching their grandmother's home. That's when the action begins. There are plenty of zombie encounters and resultant action, but there is so much more to this series. You will laugh, you will cringe and you will definitely cry. The characters are totally believable and soon start to feel like old friends.

I first read the ebook version of these three books. I rarely reread books, but in this case, I'm glad that I made an exception. What happens when you take a great book and add an amazing audio performance? Double the enjoyment! Kim Bretton is one of my favorite narrators and her performance adds a whole other level of awesomeness to this series. She is one of the few narrators that can pull off a conversion between multiple characters and make you feel like there are several people involved.

If you love an action-packed zompoc adventure, with great characters and wonderful narration, grab this series! You won't be disappointed!

Enjoyable read

I really enjoyed this series of books. The story is a mix of believable and not so much! The main character Mike is likeable as with all the rest. My main problem hence the 3 stars is the constant hero worshiping of Mike it gets a bit much it is constant! He apparently knows more than soldiers and is the only one with any real ideas and solutions. My other issue is that women don't seem to be able to do much either except as Mike which I found slightly insu!ting ! The characters did get a bit better near the end but it would be nice if others h ad more say a bit sooner.I know that sounds a bit negative but it was a good story just needs a bit more to the other cha r acters. Women an do a bit more than ask a man or look after children ha ha

An outstanding edition featuring the first three books in the Safe Haven series, filled with fast paced, non stop action, and beautifully narrated by Kim Bretton. From the first page I was sucked into an adventure with Mike and his family as he struggles to lead them to safety and family, gathering friends and enemies along the way, he faces unspeakable evil, in hair raising situations. This heart pounding instalment shouldn't be missed, it's a shining example of the zombie genre and deserving of more than just 5 stars and one credit, I absolutely loved this book and cannot recommend it highly enough. I received this book 📚 in exchange for my honest review.

This trilogy contains some of the best zompoc books I have ever read. Full of beleivable events, great characters and bursting with action against the dead and undead. I read a lot of horror/enf of the world books, some good some not so good. But these are brilliant and would urge everyone to get them and support this great author. I have bougjt the rest of the series and off to start book four now.

Awesome!!

I liked everything about this series. Real adventures and situations that families can't imagine will ever happen. Yet, different people from different backgrounds made it all work to survive the zombie apocalypse. A young man that defied the odds has renewed my hope that good people still exists. This is a good read and the 3-in-1 makes it even better.

This was a story full if some good characters; not perfect people but perfect for this book. Although some of the language is unfamiliar (those darn brits), I quickly learned from context and now feel smarter..lol

Safe Haven 1-3 Box Set

Phenomenal zombie apocalypse trilogy set in northern Britain. Literally non-stop action with vivid characters, descriptions and dialogue. Not a genre I usually read but this drew me in from page one.

Safe Haven an Amazing Read

I have read several apocalyptic series now. I have to admit this is the first zombie one I was even tempted to read. Actually the second although I thing the two are combined. Once you meet Mike you will find it hard to put down. Read and enjoy!

Hung on every word!

Great series. Well written and graphic.
Lost sleep as I was unable to put it down. I don't normally read zombie type books, but this series was more about the people and how they survived. Great read!
Thank you.

Safe Haven envelopes you into it's world

I really did not know what to expect going into this box set. I was introduced in one of the Facebook groups and I am in to this author and thought I would give it a chance. Man am I glad I did! Great characters dangerous situations, the constant threat of Rams. Christopher creates an uncomfortable setting that you can never quite relaxing even when things are going good. I like that very much in a book. Give Safe Haven a chance and I think you'll agree that it's a fantastic series!
