Sarah lives in California, in a home that brings her happiness and hay fever. She loves God, loves her family, and loves freshly brewed coffee. She has a husband who cooks, a son who stop animates, a daughter who loves animals, a dog that follows her everywhere, and a turtle who scowls at her condescendingly.
Her mother raised her on Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, and Remington Steele. Her grandmother shared True Crime stories with her as they plotted how to get away with the perfect murder. It's no surprise that Sarah became an award-winning spinner of suspenseful tales brimming with quirky characters. Mysteries are in her blood. Not that she could survive one of her own stories. She confesses, "I'd be snuffed out by chapter two."

Lydia is a delightful person with a faith that is strong. Her friends and her community are important to her as well. The friendship and strong Christian faith she and her friends share, they still get into a lot of trouble. While a Christmas pageant, craft fair, and marathon race are impacted by their presence, it is their inability to stay out of the mystery aspect of each disaster. Dead bodies turn up, missing items, and imagine finding a newborn infant in the manger of the nativity scene of the Christmas pageant! Trouble finds and follows Lydia everywhere. The author, Sarah Hualde delivers a delightful cozy mystery-style series. This is the type of series that any person would enjoy because it is easy to follow and the characters are straightforward. I enjoyed the blending of Lydia’s practice of Christian faith with her community and family interactions. The mystery around the social influencer was well done and like the other three flowed smoothly and each had good plot twists. The contrasting of the characters was well done also, the mother of the infant found and her best friend proved to be good foils for one another and tested the faith of Lydia as a “foster-like mom.” The narrator, Jasmine Rose, did a good job of narration but did not provide unique voices for the characters. This is usually helpful to distinguish who is talking but also to project the emotions of each character. She spoke clearly and with a steady cadence that kept each story moving forward. I enjoyed her voice very much, and while it was mainly told from Lydia’s point of view, using unique voices for each character would have made it easier to follow. Overall, this is a delightful series and I look forward to hearing more from Sarah and Jasmine. There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.
As always, it’s great to have a box set so you can binge-read a series. I had only read one of these books before, so it was great to get a larger glimpse into the book’s world.
Here’s a review of the third book:
Farmers’ Market Fatality (Book 3): This story is complicated for a cozy mystery. For one thing, we have four amateur sleuths to follow. Much is going on in their lives and the lives of their family and friends. The book is busy and fast-paced, but the murder isn't even known to be certain until over the 40% mark—and this is a long book. Maybe the author was hoping to build suspense about the missing man, but when the actual murder in a murder mystery is left for too long, it doesn't allow for much development of the murder plot. This is a long novel, so there was still some time for development, but I would have liked to have seen more. It is definitely a book where it felt like the cozy aspect and the mystery aspect were out of balance, with lots of emphasis on the cozy and not quite enough on the mystery. Still, the intertwined lives of the people of Honey Pot were easy to get entangled in.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
I choose to read fiction that is labeled Christian because I hope I am spending my time and energy enjoying something that is honoring to God. With that being said, not everything that is labeled as Christian is actually Christian or biblically accurate. Shocking! I finished the first two books in this set. I enjoyed the first one. I hope to enjoy the second one. The author introduced a great deal of satanic practice and items. I was hoping the book would take on the challenge of spiritual warfare between God and His Warriors and Satan and his demons that is occurring around us and in US all the time. Very disappointingly the author did no such thing. The practices of yoga, using crystals, meditation that empties the mind Etc are all tools of Satan that have crept into the modern church. You don't have to take my word for it but do your own research. There is no such thing as Christian yoga! It is pure evil and it is meant to deceive. Satan is a master Deceiver who disguises himself as an angel of Light in order to fool people into believing he has good things to offer. Shame on this author for their compromise if it was on purpose and prayers for the author for their eyes to be opened and Truth to be revealed.

I felt right at home reading these books. Being a mom myself it was nice to hear the juggling of lives and daily stresses amidst the trouble Lydia and her friends get into. These mysteries were filled with adventure, gossip, and many false trails. It is a clean mystery series and I really enjoyed listening to it. Jasmine Rose the narrator did a great job voicing the book. I recommend to those while love “cozy mysteries”.
Pottersville is affectionately known as Honeypot. The three novels include Missing on Main Street, Lethal in Lavender, and Farmer’s Market Fatality, and are filled with characters facing very real problems. As I got to know each person throughout the books, I enjoyed how their life disappointments became opportunities to be blessings. Honeypot Mystery Boxset was inspirational for me to read.
