I wanted her the first moment I saw her. I was only eight, but my heart’s been set on her ever since. I don’t know what to call my fixation on her, I don’t know if it’s just lust. I don’t know if it’s pure infatuation, or even love. But whatever it is, it’s strong. It’s unconditional…it’s unrefined…but it’s unrequited… It’s unlawful. And still, no one could convince me that she isn’t the one. She is the one. She’s the only one. I wanted Aubree. I had to have her, but I had to wait. There's always been a wedge between us. A thick line that's never meant to be crossed. But sometime after my eighteenth birthday I took the first step over it. Nothing between us now—except for the guilt over seducing my best friend's mom.

Reverse age gap (she’s 32/he’s 18) Her sons best friend Awful husband Cheating Hero virgin, but oral w/ow
Notes while reading
▪️Trenton has more maturity in his pinky finger than this entire family does
▪️She has sex with her husband and when she goes downstairs, she tells Trenton she was thinking about him the entire time. WTAF
▪️What are these weird italic interludes. They make absolutely no sense. Is this an alternate reality? WAIT, are these flashbacks?? Why is this written so weird?
▪️I hate the double standard here. If the roles were reversed, and it was the husband cheating on his wife with a woman 15 years younger than him, for the entire book…not to mention a girl he watched grow up. Would we find that romantic?
▪️The lonely mother at home, drinking three bottles of wine a night, not going to work, living in her giant two-story house with a beautiful pool in the backyard, getting manicures and pedicures with her friend…
▪️What a fucked up family
▪️Because of course of the other moms hate her (giant eye roll)
▪️Her husband has given her 36 Gucci bags?
▪️She has no self-reflection. Blames her husband for everything
▪️NOW she wants her husband to give her another baby, didn’t he have a vasectomy?
▪️Jumping from one man to the other, this is so self-destructive
▪️Why am I still reading this? Is my brain addicted to this unhealthy drama?
▪️OMFG!! They are all idiots
▪️Trenton gets all the stars for this story. All of them.
I mean the hero actually said this ➟ “All I’m saying is, I think you’re hot as fuck and I’d chop both of my legs off with a butter knife if you’d take my virginity.”
I mostly read older man/younger women age gap romance because I usually prefer the guy to be older. So I was skeptical about starting this one as I thought the guy would be immature and annoying but I’m glad I gave it a chance because Trenton Laguna is the most mature and understanding guy that I’ve ever read in a book. I was swooning over the way Trenton loved and cared for Aubree. And the fact that he respected Aubree’s wishes rather than imposing his decisions on her was EVERYTHING!!!
If you guys love forbidden, steamy, age gap romance that has a swoon worthy hero then read THIS BOOK!!!
“I know, but I really don’t want to be a son to you,” I say in a hushed tone. “What do you want to be?” Under you. Inside of you. Yours. My tongue peeks out to lick my lips as I stare into her dark eyes. I’m convinced. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life. That’s it. No one tops Aubree Cooper. No one. “I want to be kissing you right now.” 4.5 Stars! OH MY HEART and THE FEELS!! This is my first "Best friend's mother" book and my first book by this author. I'm not going to lie when I say I was extremely apprehensive. Books with this subject matter can be tricky right? At least for me, ESPECIALLY when I have a child the same age as the main male character. I have to be able to take myself out of the story, and sometimes that's hard to do but in this case it wasn't at all. You are immediately and impossibly pulled into this story from page one! It is intricately written, it is believable and it's a page turner. There are some secondary characters I love and can't wait to read more about and others that are a complete wack job and bring the drama. To me, even though he's young Trenton was the most mature out of everyone and it is impossible not to fall for him (you know, AFTER he turns 18 😉) It took me most of the book to warm up to his best friend Diesel, I found him to be selfish, rude and very disrespectful. Aubree. Well, you'll want to judge her and I did at times. Her life, her marriage, her choices it would be easy to point the finger but really if you pay attention she has been through SO much and yeah maybe she didn't always do things perfectly but who does? I'm not going to even discuss her husband. There are no words for the way he treats her, it's despicable! If you're thinking this story is tawdry or foul or sordid or sleazy it's not. Unconventional? Yes. Taboo? Absolutely but it's a beautiful story, it's heart breaking, it's intense and sexy and all consuming! I literally couldn't put it down and finished it in hours! I definitely recommend it and will continue to read this author!
A face paced, taboo hot, love story that makes you read over and over again!
This book captivated me from the first pages. The characters were written superbit, the style and book's pace are fascinating. I have read the story for two days! And I liked how realistic the plot was. I fell in love with Trenton, he is a dreamy guy! Despite his young age, 18 years old, he thinks about life more mature than any men I met myself. I cannot describe how great he is. Well, one thing that I really didn't like in him that he made a secret affair with Aubrie, as she did as well. I am not a fan of cheating in the books but I was okay with it. However, Trenton is smart, sexy, protective towards his sister and woman he loves, and he is persistent to fulfill his dreams. I love it. Only a real man can do it! So how Aubrie could push him away so many times and say their love was nothing? Well, I understand she was afraid of her tempered husband who said that their marriage was mistake as a birth of their child and even tried to hit her... but she had to learn to be strong considering her age, 32 years old. She needed to believe in herself at last! Yes, she made me roll my eyes many times in how she saw some things and behaved not in a way she had to. But she figured out how wrong she was pretty soon and I was glad she did. Her son Diesel was a dick because of how he treated Aubrie in the beginning. Anyway, because of his girl's pregnancy everything has changed and he saw things by his mom's eyes. He became a real man. So I am glad that story has a HEA. I didn't want it to end dramatically. I was scared that Aubrie's husband will kill Aubrie because of his wild ideas and beliefs. Thanks God I was wrong! They just stayed friends after everything was solved and forgotten. It was a huge surprise! Thank you, dear author, for your amazing book. I hope to read a sequel about Aubrie and Trenton's daughter. 💗
This was my first Older Woman/younger man age gap and I really enjoyed getting this side of this trope. I really liked Aubree and Trenton, I wasn't too convinced their connection was anything more than sleeping with the best friend's hot mom, but none the less still a really good story. Aubree's story was pretty heartbreaking, it's amazing how many wives go thru life painting the perfect picture on the outside while they are so lonely on the inside. She really deserved more and Trenton was there to give her that attention she craved.
Holy moly. Someone get me a Trenton. Like right now.
I have literally fallen in love with this story. I’ve heard so many good things and trust me it did not disappoint. I loved how by the end this broken family had come together and how much had happened in the book.
My heart was dropping and smiling throughout this book and I absolutely loved it!
I totally enjoyed this book! It’s my first read by the author and I’m hoping to read more from her.
As always, I love forbidden romances and this was really good. Trenton was my favorite, despite just being 18 he was really mature and very independent. He had a crush on Aubree for a really long time and I loved how much he cared for her, even if they couldn’t be together for different reasons. He never gave up on his feelings and he always let Aubree know how he felt about her.
I liked Aubree too, she took different decision that I’d like to but I understood why she went through at some times. She had to become a mother and a wife at just 15 so a lot of her choices were taken from her, so she didn’t know what to do and stand up for herself when something happened just for fear of losing her son. Diesel was very spoiled and I hated how he treated her most of the time. She just needed to feel loved and Trenton was the one to give her that. Her “husband” was always gone and at the end their marriage was just a business transaction, so I loved how she and Trenton started their relationship, even if they had to overcome the problems that were always there.
Their steamy scenes were the best, Trenton always took care of her and he always thought of her pleasure and what she needed. They became addicted to each other in a good way so I loved how they got their HEA and how Aubree and Trenton got everything they wanted at the end.
The way he held her, they way he thought of her, he way he respected her, THE WAY HE BANGED HER. Sis, everyone needs a Trenton Laguna in their lives.
Ugk PERFECTION. And when he put himself first in situations where he could damn it all hell, AHHHH MY MATE. you are fine and you are incredible.
His fucking childhood broke my heart, it's not that deep but holy shit. How he nonchalantly recalled it, you could actually hear someone pierce my heart.
The fact that I know Aubree has morals, but that she’s breaking them all for me. She wants to be a good wife, and she has been. She puts up with all of Roger’s shit and she doesn’t get enough credit for it. I’ve seen her put her all into her marriage to the best of her ability. I know, because my mom didn’t. I watched my parents fall to pieces like the broken dishes I’ve cut my fingers on when I went to clean up after their fights. I was the only one who cleaned up those messes because Mom would lock herself in her bedroom and dad would run straight to the bar. But if I didn’t, it was either Joselyn hurt herself on broken glass and shards of porcelain, or me. I chose me.
So much respect to Audrey and all the teen pregnant mom's and single parents on the world.
What I only wish this book had; there were a lot of time jumps in this book, places where their relationship took place and I wish they weren't skipped. I'd rather this book be long than having missed things out.
I fell in love where love shouldn’t have existed. He planted a seed in the driest soil and I watered it until it bloomed into a picture of a life with him. A life where I wake up to him a million times. A life where he holds me like this, where he makes me feel safe and secure like this. Where we’re in our house, in our own bed.
FIVE STARS ARE DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH! I literally don't know what to say...I am truly, completely speechless. This book was phenomenal. Their love story was out of this world. Trenton...what can I say? I hope I find a man to love me just as much as you love Aubree.
⭐ 4.5 🔥 2/3 Age gap | mum & best friend romance | forbidden romance
I couldn't put this book down. I've never read anything like this before. I honestly didn't think I was gonna like, but damn, I love it! Trenton is so sweet & cute.
In Between us , we follow Aubree, who is married to her husband Roger, who she has a 17-year-old son, Diesel. Diesel was a hard child to raise growing up and his best friend, Trenton, has always been around their home since the boys were small because his home life was not the best. Trenton is a year older than Dies and he has always lusted over Aubree. We follow Aubree and Trenton as they realize their lust, and then their feelings of one another, and try to navigate that with their respective relationships. So, basically, this is an age gap, son's best friend romance, ALL MY BUZZWORDS! But, it just didn't hit.
For a book that's so hyped up for the age gap trope, this was pretty average. Not sure if it's a me thing and the fact that I have been taking longer to read books lately and it's taking down the angst level and how immersed I am, or if it's a book thing. Who knows really, but this was an enjoyable read, just nothing that will stick with me.
Something that annoyed me to no end in this book was the ENDING! Why did it skip two years later and everything was resolved and okay and we got no development of that? We wasted so much time in this book with the same drama and then there was a two-month time skip in the middle, then the two-year skip at the end. That's one thing that drives me crazy in books, especially when there isn't any explanation or development. We just get them being happy and all is well, but how did that happen all of a sudden??? Especially with Roger, Aubree's husband. That was so weird to me how they were so okay after 2 years when they had the shittiest marriage of all time. Not seeing what happened in that time frame was frustrating.
Not a bad book, just not my favourite age gap in the slightest.
Between Us is fantastic age gap, forbidden and a taboo romance, where the lady is the older member in the relationship. This was my first book by Cheyenne Cierra but I already can’t wait to read more! Her writing was amazing. And this story was angsty, sexy but most of all beautiful!
I got be honest that the MMC was a little too young for me, I prefer it when characters in age gap romances are a little bit older BUT this was done so right that I forgot most of the time what his age even was. Trenton was so mature for his age and he knew what he wanted and he went out to get it! I adored him and well he could be real damn sexy.
The sexual tension was high. I loved the stolen glances, forbidden touches, their talks. It was also so well down. The tension was really built well and their connection was beautiful. I loveddd how it was always so much more than sex between them.
Of course there was tons of angst because Aubree, our leading lady, is not only married but she’s Trenton’s bff’s mom! You can see how those two details make their relationship almost impossible and super angsty. I couldn’t and refused to put the book down until it was away past my bed time. It was honestly so so good.
My heart hurt so much for Aubree. Her life was kind of a nightmare and all she wanted was to protect her boy, a boy who acted like he hated her. She really lived a miserable life at home and with every new bit of info we learned about what her situation really was, my heart hurt more and more for this woman. Trenton was there for her when she needed someone, even when he was just the little boy who spent so much time at their house with his best friend. He was the only one who truly saw her, saw her pain and knew how bad her marriage was. He was the one who encouraged her to leave her marriage and be honest with herself and her son. He wanted her to be happy and he wanted her to be with him. And that’s what she needed!
There are more things happening in the book and people involved that add to the drama and the angst of it all. You’ll hate more than one character and you’ll want books of the side characters. I’m still hoping we’ll get Diesel and Chloe’s story someday.
➳ Physical copy provided by the author in exchange for a honest review.
this book was absolute perfection. trenton omg, he has to be one of the best hero’s i’ve read in a while & i’m wholeheartedly in love with him. i didn’t know what to expect from the older woman trope as i’ve only read it once, but this book did it so well. the perfect amount of angst, steam, forbidden aspect and drama to keep you interested. the characters were both really likeable (especially trenton) and there were lots of amazing side characters too. cannot recommend this book enough & i’m really excited for jos & gios book next!
I enjoyed this book so freaking much 😩 I don’t usually read books where the heroine is older than the hero but I gave this book a try & i’m so glad I did! Trent was seriously the sweetest & I love him so much!! He is for sure a book boyfriend 😭 Aubree & him we’re so freaking cute & I can seriously see myself reading this beautiful book again 😍
I thought this book was entertaining but by the middle of the book the heroine was annoying and I began to skim the book.
Plot: Aubree had her son, Diesel, at 15 with 17-year-old Roger. Fast forward 17 years, Aubree is in a loveless marriage where Roger is gone most of the time for work. Aubree is a stay-at-home mom who is considered the fun mom because she allows her son and his friends to drink and hang out at their house with 25 or fewer people. Her son is a spoiled brat who is very annoying. His best friend is 18-year-old Trenton. Trenton is actually a pretty good guy (he is respectful, he has a job, etc). He spends all his time at Diesel's house partly because he has a crush on Aubree. Trenton is in love with Aubree but Aubree is conflicted because of his age, she's married, Diesel is her son, but ultimately they start hooking up. We find out Roger (Aubree's husband) has something on Aubree which is keeping her from getting a divorce.
This is where I really started to dislike the book. Aubree was all about doing everything for Diesel and making him happy (which was trying to get his dad's attention) and this includes keeping the secret. Then she keeps going back and forth on her feelings for Trenton. It gets annoying.
Haven’t read many older woman younger man but this really blew me away and I’ll have to change that. It was hot and emotional and ended in a pretty satisfying way
This is the most AMAZING love story! The characters are complex and realistic; I simply fell in love with them. And the chemistry between Aubree and Trenton is nothing short of SMOKIN'!!! At times, I was angry, then I cried and laughed as this story tugged at my heart strings on so many levels. I have a habit of noting some of the most memorable lines in movies that I've seen, but after reading this story, I have to add most memorable lines from a book. The moment I finished reading the story, I turned back to the beginning to start the ride all over again. My only criticisms are that 1) it took a long time to get some description of how the main characters looked (i.e. hair color, eye color) and 2) the story had to come to an end. This will forever be one of my favorite romance books I've ever read.
Not as spicy as I expected it to be but the mood scenes were absolutely heartfelt that I was blushing with emotions. A reverse age gap, best friends mom romance .
For some reason the real ness that I felt was impeccable between the love of Aubree and Trenton, a virgin hero who wants his best friends mom to take from him but she took so much more
Aubree who is the trophy wife and in a loveless marriage, this was such a cute read between the love Trenton had 🤭
I was lucky enough to received a signed copy from the author of this emotional but HEA story - And I LOVED it! I devoured this book. The writing was addictive and an easy afternoon read over a relaxing weekend - With a bit of steam!
This is a taboo romance so for those who are easily offended with age gap romances, this story isn't for you. But if you are like me and love a bit of forbidden romance with some steam - Then this will be up your alley!
This story follows Aubree, a 33 year old stuck in a loveless marriage. Aubree was pregnant at 15 to Roger - A man who was only 17 at the time and was not ready for a child, nonetheless a forced marriage from his parents. Flash forward 17 years and Aubree & Roger are far from a happy marriage with a 17 year old son - Diesel - who is also unhappy from being a son of parents that are miserable. Trenton is 18 years old and Diesel's best friend. They have been friends for over a decade and Trenton has always had a huge crush on Aubree. He finally gets the courage to ask Aubree to "take his virginity", and this is when the story heats up!
Aubree and Trenton definitely have a physical connection, but they also have a huge emotional connection. They both have been there for each other at time of need, and Aubree finds herself leaning on Trenton more then she ever did her husband, Roger.
There is cheating in this book, but not as you expect and is written in a way where you feel like it wasn't even cheating.
This book has an extremely HEA which I actually was like - Was that too happy??? But either way, it was a 5/5 star read for me.
The author is writing books in the same universe and I cannot wait to read Marina or Diesel's story!
Best friends mom/younger man trope is something I didn't know I needed until I read it. I've read plenty of older man romances, or even the bf's dad, but this was like a role reverse of it all and I really enjoyed it.
Aubree is depicted as a thirty something year old housewife who roams around the house in a black robe, supervising her eighteen year old son, making sure the house is spic and span for her jerk of a husband, or dodging Trenton (aka her sons best friend) as he uses any and every opportunity to charm her. Trenton's been in love with his best friends mom since he were a child and has spent his young years counting the days until he's 18 and can properly shoot his shot at Aubree. I like this because she does resist him at first. She has a lot at stake and family is really her sole priority for a long while--but then she does finally cave and fall for Trenton of course. I was entertained from start to finish, I liked the characters and found some parts to be funny at times (Aubree's scenes with Solana lol). If you don't like cheating (although I think it's justified once you see what kind of man her husband is) then I'd probably say skip the book because Aubree is married throughout the entire story, but this really didn't bother me and like I said it was justified by the end. Anyway, I see Chloe and Diesel are gettin their own book so I'll probably check that out when I see it.
This book didn't just revolve around their relationship and how things went from infatuation to love but also the very aspect of a women under all the money and so-called " privilege" they live in. Trent is so head first and strong ... And that's definitely something you don't want to miss on a male character, always so enchanting and beautiful. Loved how Aubree flew out from the cage she was trapped in. Also, I really appreciate that Trent and Aubree stood on grounds on certain things throughout the book nad didn't let their desire for each other bend their ideology. Age gaps and taboo is definitely the best of the book. No doubt in that. Though, I didn't quite understand/want to understand the role of Roger in the end. I mean... It's hard to just get back to the normal that never existed in them. From abusive to friendly is not something I can comprehend... Tbh.. Hence the 4 stars. But overall... I loved the plot and the details. ❤️

That is the sound of a water gun shooting me in the head and splashing me in the eye (A water gun, lets keep it PG). This was a one star read for me (initially), this moved up to 1.5 as the ending was wrapped up nicely like some hollywood movie complete with predictable HEA.
Dont get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the writing- I However, did not like the main characters one bit. Our H was a user, misogynistic, wrapped in faked perfection of a male romantic. While our h, is immature, doormat, alcoholic lead with wishy washy tendencies. They were a match made in future toxic heaven, and yet it was romanticised as a beautiful love story.
Was it an entertaining read? Debatable, or depends on who you ask. But, I personally don't see merit in lack lustre character developments who's major characteristic is 'hot'.
Really enjoyed it! For someone who absolutely hates cheating in books, I was actually surprised I read it, the taboo aspect pulled me in though! I was hooked from page one and didn't put it down until I finished it. For a debut book it's very impressive, I'm heading straight off to Amazon to see what else the Cheyenne has to offer, I will definitely be following this author and look forward to more from her.
then I found these part a bit weird: 1. “Roger might be cheating on me”. 2. whole Marina part~ 3. Trenton said “I love you” to Aubree at the Italian’s but when he said it again in her bedroom she got mad like you for real woman? 4. Diesel finding out bout them. 5. Roger finding Aubree’s panties and got in the fight with her. 6. Solana knowing bout Aubree and Trenton? 7. Aubree’s life?
lol

Wow! I adored this hot forbidden love! OMG, I could not put this book down!! Each character was so perfectly moulded and the the plot flow was phenomenal. Their chemistry was filled with pure devotion and the age gap added an extra layer of sexy taboo! It is official, Aubree and Trenton have stolen my heart!!
Well that’s two hours of my life I’ll never get back
Now usually I don’t read about the older women/ younger man trope for this reason alone..
The women is supposed to be a women not a fucking little girl acting like she’s never seen a guy before.
Tbh idk it’s just so ridiculous to me what women would want a little boi who had nothing to ofer her other than maybe a good time.
And tbh it felt really weird he’s this eighteen year old virgin who wants to fuck a bored housewife and Jen of the other hot girls his age appeal to him... sure
And yeah where supposed to feel for Aubrey the bored housewife who is married to a man that doesn’t want her okay I can give you that
But no one stoped you from having a job or getting friends or ya know having a social life hun.. that’s one thing I can’t stand in romance novels the heroines have no life outside of the hero’s
It’s like that’s it that’s all they need his the guy fuck friends a job or anything els the hero’s dick is it.
There was literally next to no steam here in fact I felt nothing and the sex scenes where just... so plain
I felt no chemistry between them either
And honestly how important could of Aubrey been to Trent if he literally moved on and had a girlfriend who he fucked
And then once they decide to be together we never hear about this chick again she’s just gone... umm okay
There’s nothing to like or enjoy IMO about Thai book the plot in non existent. The characters are so boring
And I didn’t really like the forbidden vibe dude you’re a 32 hot women in your prime and your only source of happiness is a eighteen year old... that’s so sad
And tbh if I was in trents place sure from the start it’s got a nice fantasy come true
But really at eighteen with not much els going for me
The last thing I would want is to Stuart house wife playing house with a person who had This much baggage
