I absolutely love this book. It is great for beginners and those of us who have more experience with acrylic paint. There are so many different techniques described, some I have already been doing and others I never would have thought to try. There is detailed information on picking the right brush, surface, medium, etc. to create an even better outcome. There are so many beautiful works of art shown in this book, as well as information about the contributing artists and their websites. The covers are really thick and sturdy. In my opinion, this book is perfect.
This is an accessible compilation of different materials and techniques for use with acrylic paint. Now that I’ve been painting seriously for a couple of years, it is an excellent reminder that there is always more to try, to experiment with. Each technique/material/idea page is paired with the work of a contemporary artist who used that method. The book covers several types of acrylics: ink, fluid, medium, and heavy body; mediums; grounds; and some more unusual combinations including enamel, mica powder, gold leaf, and marbling. Several pages at the end are dedicated to acrylic pouring techniques. It doesn’t take long to read through the entire book; the real value will come from adding it to your shelf and opening it up again when you want some inspiration.
Acrylic: Do More Art by Rita Issac is a compilation of art techniques. There is a brief description of the technique and a sample of the art form. I thought the book was helpful, a visual guide. I liked the dragging technique and would like to try the geometrical technique. I recommend this book to artists.
It gives a range of techniques that are doable, simple to do and genuinely breaks painting with acrylic in an actionable, simple and easy to follow way.
