This was better than I expected. I understand why people are talking about it.

Noir, a commoner with a sub-par nobility title, decides he's not going to make his family support him, so he decides to go to the adventurer school. He just happens to be born with an incredibly rare and powerful skill. There's only one problem - he has to flirt/hug/kiss cute girls to use his skill, otherwise he gets horrific debilitating headaches! Thankfully, his best childhood friend (and hopeful paramour), Emma (who actually is true nobility) is more than happy to make out with him any time he wants! Aaaaaand, she's got a killer body and HOLY COW look at dem melonz! Noir also seems to be a siscon, as he at one point rests his head on (and asks to cuddle with, too) his super cute sister's lap. Alice, the sister, seems to be a brocon, and it's implied these two siblings have been uhm, amorous in the past. Ok that weirdness aside, Noir stumbles upon a hidden labyrinth, and chained up is a beautiful sleeping girl in chains, the legendary adventurer Olivia! She's in an eternal trap, but can telepathically talk with Noir. She bestows three incredibly rare, incredibly powerful skills upon him, skills that can basically create any other skill, item, etc. So, after a chain of events, Noir and Emma end up in adventurer school together (Emma just wants to be with Noir, regardless of where he goes). They then do some jobs, earn a huge amount of money, treat the entire town to a BBQ, and in the process, Noir picks up an incredibly sexy competitor to Emma for his affections in the form of Lola, the super hot guild receptionist!

This is a fairly typical sort of ecchi harem fantasy manga. I love the sort of video game feel to this, with characters and monsters having special skills and levels, and they work to level up and get stronger. Noir's innate ability allows him to ask anything and the Great Sage gives him an answer - but it causes crippling headaches. Luckily, kissing prevents the headaches! Yeah, that's the type of manga this is. Then Noir inherits very powerful special ability, but they cost "LP" (a type of energy) to use, and he can refill his LP by engaging in activities that make him excited. As he's a teenage boy, bet you can't guess what types of activities those are...

The art style is really awesome (especially if you like lots of cleavage and panty shots), and the world building is fun. Pick this up if you want a fun, steamy harem anime with a fantasy MMORPG video game feel.

A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss+ for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

A harem/slightly ecchi, fantasy with video game elements. In a way it reminds me of Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon. The world is nicely fleshed out and the characters are really likable. I had a really good time reading this and can't wait for volume 2!

Funny ecchi harem

Cute little story with just enough comedy and ecchi fan service to be enjoyable. The story is rather cliche but presented well.

I signed up for a manga about a guy who grinds in a hidden dungeon with unique creatures. Instead, I got softcore pornography. I will never forgive the Japanese

I thought the idea was good until I realized the main character has to do perverse things to charge his magic. And basically lead on his best friend? He also gets "charged" by putting his head down on his hot sister's lap... no thanks.

3 stars for the art style and dungeon crawler vibes. Won't be reading the other ones.
