The paranormal talents have begun to spread, not always intentionally. Just being close to an esper is enough to waken latent abilities! Could YOU be an undiscovered talent? If so, beware! The abilities are wonderful, but the talents are dangerous, even deadly to the untrained. Worse, not all the new espers are good people. One is so powerful he thinks himself a god! Can even T, code-named the Combat Wizard, survive an encounter with the madman who shapes granite mountains with his mental powers?Fans of Jim Butcher, Raymond E. Feist, and Terry Pratchett will love this series!Excellent entertaining author. One of a kind--36and4kidsI have enjoyed reading this series--Richard White A good conclusion to the trilogy--Ronald Q. Soldier, teacher, author, hobbyist; my past experiences find their way into my books. I have an imagination with few boundaries. I use that imagination extensively, particularly in my New Frontiers Series. By contrast, imagination figures in my Darwin's World series but there's also tons of personal experience. When I describe chipping flint, I've done it. I've set traps, made and used ropes, raised horses, spent a lot of time in the deep woods. But the series is really not about survival; that's how it begins, but by the time you reach The Return, it's begun to change to hard SF. I'm currently writing Defending Eden, which is not only hard SF, it has elements of space opera. The Wizards Series is about wish fulfillment. Who wouldn't want to find buried treasure, move huge objects, fly, and do in bad guys? With side journeys into saving lives and fighting wildfires? As for my novella, Hands, expect everything from grins to belly laughs. And then there's the stand-alone short story, Ants, which offers a different view of where the New Frontiers Series might have gone. One work-in-progress, two more in the pipeline, and a new home page: http//jacklknapp.com/home In other words, I'm nowhere near ready to retire!
After escaping the mountain landslide in the prior volume, “T” and Ray settled in Little Dry Creek, Nevada. Chezzy and Anna Maria soon joined them. With some of their resources, they bought an abandoned ranch for back taxes and built a small clinic for Chezzy. The four were set to lead a quiet life. If they would stop helping people determine if they have a talent maybe it would have stayed that way. Then again, it appears other people are realizing they have a talent and cashing in on it. That might not be so bad, but some talents can be dangerous. What if a person of the loose morality type gains one of those dangerous talents, like pyrokinesis. Pyrokinesis is the purported psychic ability allowing a person to create and control fire with the mind. This story looks into that probability. This is the third book in the series I have enjoyed. The situations and talents may be a bit over the top but who can say that they’re not possible? Stranger things than this have happened in our world. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
A JLK. SYFY. PESPT. (TWSB. - 3)/The Third Novel Shows a Spread of ESP Development
JLK. has. penned the third novel in the Wizards Series and as th four intrepid travelers settle into their routine in the low deserts of Nevada they have taught the older folk how to move about without harm, but have stated they must stay out of the public eye. That is easier said than done. The senior citizens have shown they are unable to keep from being stupid. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
A lot more action in this one than in the last one. The story moves along very well too. Looking forward to the next one. Is there a transhuman apocalypse coming in the next book?
This book, like the predecessors, features multiple threads that extend from book to book and finally are resolved in Talent. This is the plot; it's not simple! Characters: the original characters are featured, plus additional characters as needed to illustrate parts of the Plot; for example, the old man introduced in Wizard at Work (Shorty) becomes a major supporting character by the end of Talent. And some of the characters don't survive; this too illustrates threads within the book. I think you'll like it.
