This is another great novella from Paco Ardit. It’s at B2 upper-intermediate level so unless you want to be dipping into a dictionary or grammar every two minutes, you will need to have a pretty good understanding of conditionals, gerunds and the various past tenses. If you’re a bit shaky with the pluperfect or conditional forms, you might be better off reading some of Paco Ardit’s books at A1, A2 or B1 before you tackle this one. Also, be aware that the novel’s main characters are South American, so this book uses South American verb forms.
I won’t give away the plot. Suffice to say that it is gripping and for your money you not only get a thorough lesson in Spanish, you get an imaginative and entertaining sci-fi story.
This is the fourth B2 book of Paco Ardit’s that I have read in the last few months. I’m going to read the last one at this level before going on to read his C1 and C2 books (there are three of each at the moment). By then I think I might be ready to read some “real” (and that’s not casting any aspersions on Paco Ardit) Spanish and Latin American literature.

El final fue abrupto pero me gustó el libro en general. Al principio es muy distópico, un género que no es mi favorito, pero cuando empieza la trama de verdad fue interesante.

Did not like the book. The first five chapters were literally just a summary of what had happened since 2020. The characters were incredibly flat and static, and the plot was just way too difficult to follow. Only read if you absolutely have to!!

Es un poco tonto en cierto modo y muy rebuscado para mi imaginación. Pero es un buen libro para aprender español

Great for reading Spanish. Another poor ending from El senor Ardit however.

This story was so over the top and unrealistic about how bad the future would be that I just found it impossible to read. Fans of dystopia stuff would probably like this.
