Let Me Be Your Motivation
How do you deal with another woman coming to YOUR wedding and confessing she’s already married to your fiancé and carrying his child? Let Me Be Your Motivation was a really good book. I'm so happy Jordyn found her HEA with Amir. She definitely deserved it after that ish Mason and his wife pulled at the alter. Who knew you could find the love of your life on your honeymoon?!!! As always, Mari and Leon Nixon came through with the horrible narration. You can always count on them to do a bad job. Let Me Be Your Motivation was my first book by Tay Mo'Nae and it did not disappoint.

I really enjoy when an author does the things necessary to get you invested in the characters. It doesn’t take a whole lot, but it makes a big difference. This is one of those steamy stories that make you smile and love romance. I love a book with plus size representation but I never thought about how petite women probably feel left out to.
So I really appreciated the author for taking the time to address how all bodies are different and attractive in their own way. And to prefer one doesn’t mean diminish the others.

I was expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did. But the writing and the character development were quite satisfying. I really appreciate stories where characters grow and evolve. It allow me to go on the journey and understand their choices.
I didn’t understand why Jordan didn’t know that her fiancée had grown apart from her and was completely shocked that he strayed. But I got to understand how she got there and why Amir was such a draw to her. The fling was fun and it think Amir did a good job communicating clearly with Jordan. It helped the conflict make sense and be believable. Good story

Amir and Jordyn’s story was cute! She deserved a HEA after Mason and his trash self! I mean could you be more cowardly. This was a least favorite read from Tay. Usually her books suck me in but this was just ok! I can definitely see her growth as a writer because she has some bangers. I should have read this book instead of listening to the audio. I’m really not feeling audiobooks if it’s not Wesleigh, Jakobi, Emmanuel or Adenrele. If it’s not the four of them save it 😖

Ehhhh… wasn’t a fan… the FMC spent the entire book being insecure.. got annoying after a while… and the intimacy felt rushed and underwhelming… At one point the MC was telling her how he never encountered a ‘female’ like her.. and it irked me lol.. he was a decent guy and meant well but seemed a bit immature with some of the things he said.. I liked their story and how they fell for each other.. just things that didn’t sit well…

This was the daily deal on Audible the other day and I liked the opportunity to check out new to me author & narrators.
I enjoyed this. Sexy one-night-stand turned vacation fling turned happily ever after. Jordyn is on a solo honeymoon in Cabo after being dumped at the altar. She meets up with NFL star Amir - but because she knows nothing about sports, she just thinks he’s “that guy from high school.” Opposites attract and sparks fly. I loved all the adventures they went on and how they spent a lot of time getting to really know one another. They also set the bed on 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Minus exes on both sides causing a little trouble, I felt like this was pretty low angst. An easy and steamy listen.

3.5 stars This was sweet. Personally, I like a bit more conflict and angst. But otherwise a really great romance; I would def recommend for folks who like low-angst and instalove.

Jordyn is having wedding day jitters. She knows something is wrong, but at this point, she has already made it this far and feels like she cannot back out. During the ceremony, the officiate asks the most important question of the ceremony (does anyone object…) and the groom’s PREGNANT WIFE makes herself known! Jordyn is humiliated, but decides to still go on the honeymoon. While on vacation, she meets Amir, a professional football player. Jordyn actually knows Amir, because they attended the same high school, but Amir doesn’t remember her. A one night stand turns into a vacation hookup and both parties involved wanting more.
I would have read 200 more pages of Jordyn and Amir! This story is good. Amir is one hundred percent a self loving, cocky football player. At times, I didn’t like him, BUT he grew on me. I loved Jordyn. She was willing to admit when she made mistakes and I always appreciate that in any character. I also loved her friend and her sister, who were more than willing to call her out when it was necessary (we all need friends like that)!
One issue I had with the book was that their first sexual encounter happened when both of them were drunk. While Amir got a solid “yes” from Jordyn before proceeding, Jordyn couldn’t remember even signing the non-disclosure agreement the next morning. I came across this author from a list that Shades n Pages and BookswithGab compiled of Black romance authors who write Black romance (follow them on Insta AND check out this list). The entire list made me realize how much I am underutilizing my Kindle Unlimited subscription – I already have my next Tay Mo’Nae picked out to read!

Love Wins
This story was so cute. Amir was funny and didn’t play about his bedroom skills. Jordyn really deserved a good time and a good man after that disaster of a wedding. I love how Amir was falling for her and wanted to do the adventurous things she was in to. Their chemistry put a blush on my face. You really never know when love comes. They both were in the same place looking to spend time alone but instead found an insta love that looks good on both of them.

This was my first book by Tay and baby!!!! I am a fan!!!!!!!! I’m so glad Jordyn got her happy ending! Because Mason didn’t have NO BUSINESS doing what he did! Dirty bastard! Amir saw her for who she really was and they won!!!! I need a part 2 of their story!

The story was fine but I didn’t care for Amir’s commentary about women.
I hate when authors bash other women to make their main character “not like the other girls”. It’s lazy and low hanging fruit. And frankly Jordyn is a prude and Amir is a jerk. I’d like to try more by Tae Monae but this one didn’t do it for me quite like I hoped. Nice cover!

What will a one night stand lead to ? Opposites definitely attract !!! Jordyn (Beauty) and Amir were definitely opposites, but Cabo was their ultimate FIRE !!

I enjoyed this story!! A quick read. Jordyn deserved all the happiness and some especially after what Mason did to her. That was some on some weak boy 🤬. However I'm glad she met Amir and when I say FIREWORKS!!! I mean FIREWORKS 😈😛. Very spicy,steamy, and drama. For two people to leave a previous relationships in order to find each other love it!!

Let me be clear Jordyn responded to the mess that Mason pulled at their wedding way better than I could ever. I am sure that I would have gotten locked up that day behind his disrespect booty. Sooo now that that is out of the way let me get to the review.
Jordyn is our heroine who, as I mentioned above, had her wedding ruined by what was supposed to be her husband. To get away she decided to take her honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas where she meets our hero Amir. Amir is a star player in the NFL and was Jordyn’s high school crush as they went to high school together.
I love the chemistry that they shared once Jordyn got out of her own way and stopped thinking for the man. The steam that was shared on the pages was caliente!! Now Jordyn made me shake my head at how she reacted to the conflict but the ending made up for it completely. Super cute!! All in all once we get to Cabo this is a low angst read which is right on time for this reviewer :). 4 stars ✨

I seriously didn’t want this book to end
This book was very well written, it was filled with passionate dialogue and action grabbing scenes. Amir & Jordyn’s beginning is just beautiful.. chef’s kiss 👌🏾

Good story
This was an enjoyable read. My only issue is there were so many grammatical mistakes that it made it hard to read. Better editing would be a great help. It really had 5 star quality. The storyline was good. I loved that Amir and Jordyn were so different, yet they worked.

Great read
That was the most heart wrenching beginning I’ve read in awhile. Mason had some nerve. Jordyn got her “life” in Cabo and surely turned lemons 🍋 into lemonade! Amir was just what she needed and after Rosalyn so was Beauty for Amir!

Great book!
Really good book. Jordyn was hit with an embarrassing situation. Instead of sulking she made lemonade out of lemons and definitely upgraded. Amir was everything and more. Great writing and storyline. 5 star read!

Unexpected Feelings
Really nice story. I really liked Jordyn and Amir. Their natural vibe & easy way of enjoying each other. That Rosalyn was a whole mess. And the ex-fiance was a piece of work too. Wish this was a bit longer bc I wanted more to this story. Good read.

Great Love Story!!!
I could not get enough of Jordyn and Amir. They are absolutely fantastic and so relatable. Jordyn and Amir are both getting over relationship breakups when they meet. This was so amazing and wonderful. I really enjoyed it. The beginning was such a dramatic high that the author was smart enough to write the rest in an engaging, but calm rhythm. Kudos to her because that's her skillset on display. Amir and Jordyn were fun and cute. A nerd and an athlete. I loved that so much. Jordyn having space to be vulnerable, and Amir having that to give her was the most romantic part of the book for me. They danced so elegantly together, the ties of the past threatening the future in a way that wasn't corny or overly dramatic. Plus, Amir and Jordyn were very, very hot and that kept me interested. I'd read anything Tay Mo'nae wrote at this point.

They start out as an all night ONS extravaganza, soon learning how well they gel.When his ex comes roaring back in the picture in In lingerie In his hotel room, obnoxiously persistent despite Amir's denials,Jordan runs scared.
Luckily they both realize how miserable they are.without the other! An enjoyable,cute, sexy romance w just the right amount of tension!

Absolutely captivating!!!!!!!!!
What Mason did to Jordyn was lower than low! I was so happy that Amir did not allow Jordyn to make him pay for Mason's sins. Amir treated her like the Queen she is, but checked her when she needed it!!!!
