After witnessing the brutal beating of her father at Irish Mob boss Antaine Sorley’s hand, Onóra Russo is on the run. Together with her little brother Finn she has fled the safety of her Chicago home for places unknown. Her instincts say keep running, but loyalty says to do as Daddy instructed. Make the call to the one man who can help her. What happens when the one who answers isn’t who she expects? Can Onóra trust this Irishman who claims neutrality? With the Irish and Italian’s looking for them does she have a choice? Rónán knew, knew before he traced the call it was going to be trouble. Then he heard her Siren’s call and couldn’t refuse. It may put his life on the line, but he’ll help her, whatever the cost. Even if that cost is his heart.

Title: Irish Eyes and Mafia Lies Author: J. Haney Publisher: Haney Hayes Books Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review:
"Irish Eyes and Mafia Lies" by J. Haney
My Rationalization:
What an interesting story this was from the start to the finish. Seeing Onora and her brother Finn having to flee from Chicago for there safety to parts unknown. It was told to Onora what she was to do as her father had instructed and that was to make a call to the Irishman and we find Ronan was the one who picked up the call. With both the Irish and Italian's looking for Onora we see that she will do as her father has asked. What is up with this Irishman Roman as it seems like he may be putting his own life on the line by getting involved with these two? I will say the Onora did get on my nerves as times with some of her thought patterns but it worked its way out by the end.
I do not want to tell to much more about this story other than to say this will be one read that you will be kept turning the pages with all that will go on with Onora, Finn, and Ronan. It will be even more interesting as the reader will see these two Onora and Ronan start to fall for each other. I did love the banter between all three of these characters. By the end, we are given a story that comes together so well in how and what can happen when the Irish and Italians are able to work things out especially as it was for Onora, Finn, and Ronan.
This is my 1st book by this writing duo. There is so much that takes place from beginning to end. the story line had me intrigued, and I did enjoy it. However, I did feel at times like it was all over the place. I understand why for the most part since the book is about a young lady whose life was flipped and turned upside down. Not only hers, but her younger brothers as well. She had to grow up before her time and needed to take drastic measures to make sure those she loves are safe. Like I said earlier the storyline had me intrigued. I mean an Italian/Irish young lady who basically could have it all, but decides normal is what she wants. Question is what is normal? I will say when push came to shove she grabbed the bulls by the horns and dealt with her issues like a champ. When feelings come into play there is a no holds barred kind of attitude. Ronan being a few years older doesn't want to rush or push, but knows he has found who he is supposed to spend his life with. I'm sorry if this seems like a vague review, but I'm a firm believer in experiencing things for yourselves.
With action from the very first page Irish Eyes and Mafia Lies certainly starts out with a bang! You’re quickly whisked into the world of Onóra and Rónán that’s filled with suspense, heat and swoon. I really did overall enjoy their story, but it took me a while to really feel any sort of connection to the characters. The chemistry was fantastic, the swoon was on point, but I just didn’t really get that connection at first.
ONE WICKEDLY ROUGH RIDE!!! Smackdown! This talented and skilled dynamic duo hit the ground running with this hot little number, presenting one incredibly composed approach, spinning this thrilling storyline and gripping plot, wrapping this baby up, binding it together sleek, shiny and tight. A tumultuous whirlwind of startling mishaps and unpredictable circumstances, thrusts this baby into overdrive, revving it up full throttle, propelling those churning emotions into play front and center. Rousting the drama, turmoil, intrigue, underlying threats, secrets, danger, mounting suspense and nerve racking situations along with a boatload of trouble while dodging bedlem, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this bad boy into a raging tempest, blasting it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. Braided, coiled and interwoven, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. The attraction and chemistry sizzles, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions, charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are written with such realism, impressive talent and unique insight, blasts this sparkling jewel to life, making the storyline pop. Awesome job guys, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
Onora is a daughter of both the Irish and Italian mafia. Her father helps her escape with her brother Finn and she is ordered to go to Rory, he will help her further. But Rory has passed away. His adopted son takes the dept from his father and helps the 2 along. A new identity, a new life. But there is always the fear of being discovered because both families keep looking for them. The Italians want her to marry a son and keep her knowledge in the family. The Irish side wants her to be the new leader, their queen. Onora wants to live her life, far from the mafia, with Finn and Ronan. They come up with a plan with the information they have to break free from that life.
An exciting book, a romantic book, a realistic book, The interaction between Ronan and Onora is very funny at times. Both must learn to trust the other. Onora's temperament is appropriate for an 18-year-old girl who has to leave everything behind in a short time. The uncertainty of everything and the knowledge that she is responsible for her 9-year-old brother. Funny as described what Finn's reaction is every time he catches Ronan and Orona making out.

I am challenged in writing this review. There were parts of this story that I really enjoyed, but other parts, not so much. Onóra and her brother Finn see their father brutally beaten and go on the run. She was told to call Rónán to help them. He appears to be a tough guy, but is a good one and is determined to keep them safe. This is where the story gets a little odd for me. It often reads like a YA book, disguised as a steamy romance. Onóra, although she has helped raise her brother and you would think that takes maturity, often doesn't behave that way. She's a bit of a bit*h towards Rónán and acts really childish. The story twists and turns and is well paced. I just didn't care much for her. But the good news is you can read this book for free with your KU subscription. Do you like to read about the Mafia? Both Irish and Italian? Then you will enjoy this one. You got to see and feel the emotional development between Onóra and Rónán. She is on the run with her little brother Finn after witnessing her father being beaten. She calls Rónán to help her. Can Onóra trust this Irishman? What choice does she have with the Irish and Italian’s looking for them? Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. The chemistry was palatable. Gave you a wonderful feeling. I want to read more from this author.

This is a well written mafia romance with strong characters in Onora and her brother Finn who are on the run when their father is attacked. She contacts Ronan for help to keep them safe and start a new life. It's an intriguing and entertaining story that kept me glued to the pages right to the end with all the twists and turns as well as the steamy and passionate romance. I loved and would recommend this book.

Where to start. Right away it just gave me the creeps. You have a grown man making out with an underage girl. By making out I mean everything except intercourse . The author makes it extremely creepy though because he’s counting down to the last second. And the second they have intercourse is the second she turns 18. It’s just creepy with the pedophilia. And this guy supposed to be the hero of the book yet he’s a grown man counting down the seconds he can have a sex with her. It’s gross.
24-karat gold amazing and oh so fabulous delivered by two out of this world writers who hands down possess the extraordinary gift of weaving unique stories that are totally captivating with unpredictable characters who tend to be on the pushy side and scream loudly pay attention to me.

It was a good story but sometimes a little hard to follow... Onora has to run from her mobster family together with Finn, het little brother. She meets Ronan and he helps them out, there are a few bumps along the road as to be expected. It was a bit hard to get in the story but once you’re in, it reads smooth.

What do you get when the Italian Mafia and Irish Mafia are both fighting to get their hands on 17 teen year old virgin Onóra and her 8 year old little brother Finn because they are both Italian royalty and Irish royalty? You get a crazy ride as Onóra and Rónán, a "neutral contact" set on helping Onóra. This a roller coaster ride as they all learn who can be trusted so they can stay alive. This is a great read and I would recommend this book.
An unlikely match with lots of action, heat and a hea. After witnessing the brutal beating of her father, she takes her brother and goes into hiding. She calls the one person her father asked her to, Ronan, althought he thinks things may turn into more trouble, just because he likes the way she looks. HEA.
Just the absolute best story. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!

a very good book I love anything dealing with Ireland and this one was it for me,A really great read! Onóra Russo and her brother Finn are on the run after witnessing the traumatizing beating of their father. She calls Ronan, the one person her father has asked her to call for help. But can save them?
So much happened right off the hop! I loved how the FMC easily adapted to the maternal like roll for her little brother. I gave this 2.5 stars because i feel like it started off strong then petered out by the middle and then an odd ending. I feel like there needed to be more context and a bit more content for this book to be complete.
filled with action from the get go, this mafia romance book is full of simmering heat and emotions galore! well written with good character chemistry. well paced through out. cant wait for more!

This was a fast read but it got the story told. She's a young woman of 17 who has to grow up fast and be a mother to her brother and try to live after her uncle kills their dad. With help from a friend of her dad 😁😁great read!
I only have one thing to say about this sbook and that is I loved it. Such a great read, I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. I would love to read more about this super couple and the lil' brother.
First book I have read by Haney and Hayes. I give it 3.5 stars. The story was hard to follow at times. I enjoyed the story line though. I didn't feel the strong connection between Onora and Ronan but there was a small one.
