Hope Valley #7

The Second Time Around

Rate this book
Tessa Day had clung to the notion of a once-in-a-lifetime love for as long as she could remember. Then one chance encounter led her to the man of her dreams. After a whirlwind romance that could only be described as something out of a fairytale, she gave her heart to her other half, only to have him throw it back like it meant nothing.

Bryce Dixon was known as the care-free funny guy with a heart of gold. But it was all a façade. For more than ten years, he’d been holding on to guilt that was slowly eating
him alive. He blamed himself for things in his past, and as punishment for his sins, he walked away from the only woman he’d ever loved.

But when Tessa shows up in Hope Valley, Bryce begins to think that maybe he’s been given a second chance. However, when danger comes calling, he soon discovers he’s in for the fight of his life. Not only does he have to protect the woman who holds his heart, but he also has to convince her that he can get things right the second time around.

Tessa and Bryce first met 10 years previously and spent a week together, he was about to leave for a 6 month stint in Afghanistan but with the amazing connection between them they decided to get married. Shortly after he sent her a Dear John letter saying he was sorry but he couldn't do this. Though heartbroken Tessa continued on with her life until 10 years later she moves to Hope Valley and runs into her husband on the street. Although Tessa is initially resistant and Bryce considered himself undeserving they soon realize that they were still in love with each other. An angry mom of one of the kids of the home Tessa now runs however poses a threat to their HEA

**************
NOTHING says I love you like a 10 year separation and reconciliation just because you ran into each other on the street! I mean this is the kind of stuff I LIVE for!!! As a matter of fact I'm going to ask my husband to leave and return 10 years later JUST so I can experience this EPIC love!!!!!!

For fucks sake!(don't even Act like y'all didn't see it coming 😂😂😂😂😂😂)

Ok so our boy Bryce felt misplaced guilt at his buddies death in Afghanistan so he felt he didn't deserve to come home to Tessa so he basically broke up with her in a letter, he however did not track her down to send divorce papers because selfishly he wanted to keep that connection to her......never mind the fact that he'd been sleeping with OW(thankfully no details or mentions just a vague reference) thus making him a cheater. I just didn't understand his bullshit reasoning. Not only that but Bryce who works for Alpha and Omega has the connections to find Tessa, even just to check up on her to make sure she was alive YET he never did that! It was only after running into her that he looked her up!!!! Thennnnnnnn seeing her again he realised he still loved her(I'm grinding my teeth so hard) yet it took his friend's intervention for him to even consider attempting to pursue her again because ya know he considered himself undeserving which quite frankly his dumb ass was. When Tessa finally gave him a chance they were living together within the blink of an eye and confessing their love within a blink and a half. Apparently 10 wasted years meant NOTHING to these two lovebirds

Tessa was actually ok, she didn't give in immediately nor did she sit waiting for him to return but she moved on with her life(it's implied sje had sex too). She was probably one f the most mature h's I've ever read from this author. She had her moments where she 'd be weak kneed at Bryce's eyes or body or the chemistry between them but she was still an ok h

The setup for the reconciliation, with Tessa falling sick, was as cliched as Bryce's Alpha speak

Bryce called Tessa beauty so many times I gagged

I loved the children of the home and was pleased to see Charity adopted by Bryce and Tessa

Without Tessa this definitely would've been 1 star

*******As is typical of this author she sets up a pairing for the next book that's guaranteed to show TRUE love, you see Leo wanted to pursue this h while Danika gazed after him in longing and he never even cast his eyes to her UNTIL Tessa mentioned that Danika would be interested, I mean NOTHING screams match made in heaven as when the woman you wanted points you in the direction of a woman who ACTUALLY wants you! I'm just THRILLED at the Danika and Leo pairing, this author is really FANTASTIC at true love stories

No cheating in present
No OW or OM drama
h is attacked
Concerning sex with others during the separation this is what was said.........

Shit, Bryce. You didn’t . . . we didn’t . . . We forgot a condom.”
“Are you on birth control?”
“Yeah, I have an IUD. But . . .” She trailed off, her gaze slowly returning to mine. My stomach clenched and bile rose in my throat, because I could see the question in her eyes. And I fucking hated it.
“I’m clean,” I told her as shame began coursing through my blood. “You don’t have to worry about that.”
She visibly relaxed. “Okay. I am too.”
Just like that, the high I’d been riding bottomed out, and I thought I was going to be sick. “Have you . . . Were there other . . .?” I couldn’t finish the sentence.
The post-orgasmic glow drifted from her face, and her features went blank. “Don’t ask me that,” she ordered quietly. “I don’t want to know about your past, and you don’t need to know about mine. You wanted a second chance, and questions like that aren’t going to do either of us any good. We were apart for ten years, Bryce. If this is going to work, we need to start again from this point right here. Okay?”
The thought of her with another man—or men—ripped me apart. But I would’ve been the biggest hypocrite in the world to push.
Inhaling through my nose, I counted down from ten until the fire raging inside me banked. “All right.” I nodded my head in agreement. “I won’t ask, honey.”

Small Town | Second Chance Romance

Who knew second chances could be so perfect!? Jessica Prince is a whiz at writing small town romances. Adding to that a second chance romance with the most swoon worthy relationship makes this book PURE GOLD. Gosh, I am falling head over heels for this authors books and I am finding myself anxious for more. Jessica Prince writes sweet novels with a little bit of sass and spice to mix it up. I’m thrilled that a fellow blogger recommended her books to me because I can tell she’s going to be one of my top 5 favorite authors of all time!

The Second Time Around is the 6th book in the Hope Valley series but can stand alone. While each book is featured in this lovely town, each book revolves around a new couple. In this one, readers will meet Tessa and Bryce. The two met 10 years ago in Vegas and ended up marrying one another after only a week. It wasn’t accidental, the two just fell hopelessly in love with one another. Unfortunately, Bryce was in the military at the time and something tragic happened so the two hadn’t spoken since. Fast forward ten years later and they are unexpectedly reunited in Hope Valley. Tessa holds a grudge because she never had the closure she needed. Bryce simply left with a 6 word note and hadn’t spoken to her since then. But Bryce knows he screwed up and will stop at nothing to get the woman he loves so deeply back into his life.

With a little drama and a whole lot of love, readers are going to eat this beautiful second chance romance up! Return to Hope Valley and rediscover what love is supposed to look like in this gorgeous story! If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading it, no worries! You can start the series anywhere! But be warned, you’ll have a hard time NOT going back and reading all the books because they are so PERFECT!

Who’s moving to Hope Valley with me? Lordy, it sounds idyllic especially with all the craziness in the world right now! And especially with all the love and crazy shenanigans going on between Tessa and Bryce.

I love a second-chance romance! And one that happens ten years later? Bryce and Tessa have both grown up and changed so much since their first meeting. And even though that spark, that connection is definitely still running between them, they both have a lot of work to do to get this love train on the right track!

I loved Bryce and his devotion and desire to do the right thing. How driven he was to get Tessa back, and to finally come clean as to just what secrets he’s been keeping! And I loved how Tessa didn’t fold, didn’t just give in—but stood up for herself and for her feelings.

The Second Time Around is another fantastic addition to this equally fantastic Hope Valley series. I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 5 stars

This review will contain spoilers.
This is Bryce and Tessa.
They met 10 years ago and after a whirlwind romance got married.
He went into the military and sent her a note saying it's over.
10 years later, yes 10 years, they bump into each other when she moves to Hope Valley.

I love second chance romance and I love reconciliation marriage books.

It's well written but I have a few issues with this one.
If she hadn't moved to the area he had no intention of trying again.
He had his demons, which I won't spoil but he hurt her and despite others, his family and fellow SEAL who works with him have told him he should pursue her.
Even when he sees her again, he thinks he can't try again, part of this is because she's bitter towards him but he still feels he shouldn't be with her.
He had the ability to check up on her with his security connections but didn't as he says he couldn't have resisted reaching out to her.

The heroine has had a very sad background and he made her promises and he hasn't even made she is okay.
Also as he hasn't divorced her she can't really move on fully, the impression is given the military didn't know she was his wife so no information.

They have this electric connection across the room thing.... Roll eyes...

What I found the most difficult was she seemed to be opening herself up to him about her daily worries and pressures and he still hasn't given her an explanation for why he finished it.
If it was me before I let him try to even be friends I'd have wanted the explanation. If not how do you know if it's worth the risk of being hurt again if he does the same thing.

One of the big things I had against Bryce is, isn't he the guy in the first book who makes a real play for Eden?
He's married and it implies that as the Hero of book 1 isn't serious about her then move aside... For a married man!!
This makes no sense to me.
Granted we didn't know in book 1 hexwas married as it's only revealed in this book but to me it felt like the author had forgotten about that detail so the series is inconsistent.

For the safety gang.

There is no other woman or man drama, though a local man does express interest but circumstances mean it doesn't develop into anything.
They've been apart for 10 years so regarding others...
'
“Have you . . . Were there other . . .?” I couldn’t finish the sentence
her features went blank.
“I won’t ask, honey.”'

So there are no details of anything but it the seems there were and to be fair it would be unrealistic for there not to be despite being married.

HEA.

I say about 2.5 stars!!!

Spoilers Below!!!!!!!

Summary:
Tessa and Bryce meet in Vegas and spend one week together. He is in the military and scheduled for deployment when they meet. She just graduated college maybe??. He helps her with a bucket type list and they spend the entire week together. They get married before he is shipped off. They write to each other (I don't really remember if they communicated any other way during this time) for a couple of months until something happens overseas that causes him to write a Dear John letter. 10 years later, Tessa has moved to Hope Valley to work at Hope House and they meet again.

What I liked:
The h! Tessa had a sad childhood. She came from a loving home but having her awesome parents die in a car accident, she went into the system. She knew what it was like to bounce around from home to home however she didn't appear as bitter woman that was so closed off to the world. She was still a relatively open and honest person. I love that she was an advocate for the foster kids at Hope House.

What I didn't like:
I felt that the 10 year separation between the H/h was more or less swept under the rug. Tessa and Bryce run into each and she is pretty standoffish (which I totally get) but when they reconnect, it's almost like it's in the past and lets move on. Ummmm...hello, that is so unrealistic. He broke it off with her by a letter and had no contact with her for 10 years. He was very much capable of finding her but he didn't because he was "punishing" himself. Well what about her...was he not also punishing her? He wanted her to move on. Well hello...she couldn't because she couldn't find him to move on! If she didn't move to Hope Valley, I don't think they ever would have seen each other again. I just really couldn't get behind their love story. I didn't buy it. They met 10 years ago in Vegas and spent 1 whirlwind week together and get married. He then gets deployed and they communicate thru letters and maybe phone calls. Then he writes her a letter ending it. Then no communication for 10 years. They then run into each other and she stays mad for a few days. His friends and family try to talk him into fighting for her but he is still hesitant. But eventually he decides to. He was there when she was sick but other than that...what else did he do to win her back?? They barely know each other. A lot can happen in 10 years, they are not the same people. I just don't get it. Tessa lost her parents at age of 10, then for 8 years grew up in foster care being shuffled around. That alone would raise abandonment issues. Well, would her husband leaving for 10 years also exacerbate that feeling as well?! As well as maybe not feeling loved or wanted or important enough. It was all resolved and settled with little to no struggles. It was such a let down as this could have been a very angsty and heart breaking as well as heartwarming story. I think alot more could have been done with this story.

Just my opinion!

The thing with this series is always the same,
The couple existed in the past or is in the present but the heroine is seriously hurt and left by the Hero,
Heroes crosses path again almost casually with heroines and saw the light! I want you back!
Some nice words after years of doing nothing to find them and then after No Grovel At All, the heroines are the ones who ask for forgiveness!
What the actual fuck?! Sucks and not for me!
Sorry but I hate cowards and men unable to see the damage they are doing! The heroines are very damaged by the actions of the heroes, it’s always the same,
Not the author for me! Sorry,

4.5 I want to move to Hope Valley Stars

Here she goes....writing my heart's desire once again. Ms. Prince always delivers and this time it's Bryce's turn and he's not the background player this time he is the hero. He is finally showing his heart and whom it belongs to. It's owner was found years before and she is back, happenstance, sure but the fireworks are amazing none the less. Heart, bucket lists and smiles take the lead in this one and it's a journey everyone should travel. Second chances, redemption and a family is finally complete. I love this author, this damn town and everyone in it. I am looking up property prices as we speak. xo

A second chance, small town romance that I wish I had passed on, yay to it being on KU and not a purchase..

The hero in this just wasn't a hero in my eyes, and had me wrinkling my nose a fair bit.

I liked the fact that Tessa didn't just fall into Bryce's arms, but still think she deserved a different hero. I enjoyed the kids, and liked Tessa, but still not a romance read I enjoyed.

I didn't love this book but it was fully because of my own preferences. I'm just not a big fan of second chance romances. I still love getting to see all the characters in this town though and I'm glad I didn't skip over this book again.

So many deep feelings for this series!

This is definitely a go-to author for me, and this series totally hooked me from the very beginning!
Every single character, every plot, every feeling that the story evokes from me, all of that are so beautifully constructed. How could I not love this series.

We've met Bryce earlier and we saw a lot of him in Out Of The Darkness. I was so excited for his story, and I was not left disappointed at all.

This is a gripping second chance romance about him and the woman he loved but felt he had to left behind - Tessa.

They both had their own kind of baggage and grief to deal with, and maybe for that or for something even bigger, they connected so intensely, so beautifully.

Watching them overcome their issues (towards each other and the personal ones) was a sight to behold. Their growth and willingness to start over and aknowledge their undenying feelings were inspiring.

And in their journey, they were gifted not only with a second chance, but also with wonderful people that became part of their lives and potentially part of their futures.

This author's hability to write deep and meaningful stories with a touch of humor and so much loyalty gets to me every time.

I can't say this enough: this is one of my favorite series ever!

***5 ‘My Other Half. My Heart and Soul’ Stars***<.b>

I DEVOURED this baby.

Absolutely DEVOURED it.

Which in my world is a wonderful thing that I was engrossed in everything that was Tessa, Bryce and the Hope Valley crew that I couldn’t put the book down...but considering I was/am supposed to be doing that #workthing...OOPS *shrugs*

But, seriously. This book, these characters, just do me in everytime. The dopey, cheek hurting grin definitely happened as well as the swoons and getting all kinds of twitterpated. There were also quite a few moments that had me going “Oh...okay...mmmm” But all of them kept me turning the pages and wishing there were more when I hit ‘The End’

I ADORED Tessa and Bryce. Tessa is sweet, sassy and compassionate. I loved her passion for job and doing all she could to make a difference and I loved watching her go to bat, not only for herself, but for those she called her own. Bryce. This man. He is all kinds of sweet, protective, charming as all get out alpha goodness, but OMG...the man had me wanting to Gibbs smack him numerous times, even though I did understand the “whys” behind why his actions and thoughts.

I gotta say, their journey was all kinds of goodness. I know this was a second chance romance, but I didn’t see some of that coming. Not that it was a bad thing, because none of it was, it was surprising, but it all worked for me….You confused? Yeah, #sorrynotsorry you definitely need to go into this one as blind as possible to fully enjoy everything as it happens. But I will say, the second time around ~ when it finally happened ~ was awesome. Bryce and Tessa had such chemistry and flow that I was rooting for them from the start and loved how everything worked out for them in the end.

This baby was just all kinds of goodness and a great addition to an already awesome series. I loved catching up with the Hope Valley crew and getting to meet a whole slew of awesome new characters ~ who I am hoping we’ll see again at some point in the future *crosses toes* So, if you love a good second chance at romance story with just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting, but nothing OTT then this book, and series is an absolute must read!

The last person Tessa expected to see in her new town is her estranged ex. The one who walked away from her with nothing more than a note saying he couldn't do this anymore. Since Bryce, Tessa's walls have enclosed her heart in steel, and nothing and no one, especially Bryce, is going to be scaling those walls anytime soon (ever).

Bryce had reasons for leaving her, but when Tessa refuses to listen, a little talking to by his friend just might be the ticket to getting him to go claim his love. The question is, will he do it and will Tessa allow him to?

The Hope Valley series is one of my favorite small town series. Jessica Prince's characters are all so real, have so many layers, and are full of love to give and to receive. It just takes a special someone to unlock all that love. Bryce and Tessa's second chance is per usual with this series - full of heart and passion, and an amazing, lovable cast of lead and secondary characters.

I love this series, each book gets better and better, and that's hard to say because I've pretty much loved every book the same. The characters are always colorful, the romance is always smoking hot sexy and the suspense always has me on the edge of my seat. Jessica Prince knows her readers and she always delivers a great new couple with a wonderful story that connects all her past characters.

The Second Time Around follows Bryce, whom in the past books he is apart of the security team for Lincoln. He was always sweet, flirty and charming and this time around he gets a shocker in form of his past love.

I don't want to give away too much but I adored Tessa and Bryce, they are a power couple. She's tough as nails and dedicated into protecting the kids at Hope House. The tension is there at the beginning, but flashbacks bring everything together one what happened with this duo, its heartbreaking but its also good that they both can grow from the past and help fix each other. I also love the addition of Bryce's parents, they are just too damn cute!

Overall this has all the goodness of the past books, brings the gang back together and introduces a new girl to the every growing group of ladies in this small town of Hope Valley.

Tessa Day had a checklist of things she wanted to do while vacationing in Vegas. Meeting Bryce Dixon was not necessarily on the list but she fell hard and thought she had found her happily ever after only to have him walk away. Ten years later Tessa finds herself in Hope Valley starting a new job only to run into none other then Bryce Dixon.

Bryce has always regretted his decision but he felt it was the right thing to do at the time. Now he is realizing it was the worst mistake he ever made and Tessa wants nothing to do with him. Bryce wants Tessa back and now he has to prove he is worth a second chance, will she be able to move on from the past?

Wonderful read. Bryce was a bit of a surprise and I really liked Tessa. Very different then the rest of the books in the series.

Ten years later

Bryce and Tessa meet in Las Vegas and fall in love at first sight. He helps her finish her bucket list before he gets deployed overseas as a navy seal. Things happen and he doesn't see her for ten years until she moves to Hope Valley to help manage Hope House (book 5).

Good story, but I just can't believe that Bryce stayed away for ten years even though he was in love with Tessa that whole time. And he STILL would have stayed away if not for the fact that she moved to the same town. I also can't believe that Bryce's family knew about her and didn't even try to get in touch with her. I took one star off for this. I may have been able to live with a couple of years or even five years, but ten was just to much to get your head outta your butt, Bryce!

I hope there will be a book for Hunter. He sounds yummy!

The second time Around by Jessica Prince
“Falling back in love, 5 stars”

I floved The Second Time Around. Bryce and Tessa did it for me. Add in the fact they Prince took us back to Hope Valley and I was completely done for. You have these people who make a killer couple and some of our favorite Prince couples and it was just a home run.
Ava and Bryce knew each other once upon a time. They fell in love hard and fast. Then one day Bryce stopped communicating with Ava. It was like he fell off the face of the earth. The last thing she ever expected was to run into him in her new town. Is now the time for closure or is it the time for forgiveness?
Bryce loved Ava and has never stopped thinking of her. He feels like he doesn’t deserve her. But when a second chance comes around sometimes you just have to jump on it. Will Bryce be able to convince Ava he never meant to hurt her and wont if given a second shot?

Jessica Prince is an immediate one-click author for me and she needs to be one of yours too! The Second Time Around, book six in the Hope Valley series is my favorite to date. A small town, second chance romance with so much emotion, you will be hooked from the first page! Bryce and Tessa have each been through their fair share of turmoil in the years that they have been apart but the connection between them is still there. Through healing and understanding along with amazing chemistry, Bryce and Tessa are about to find out whether a HEA is in the cards for them! I highly recommend this book!!

Bryce is all for seeing his woman happy, “never apologize, Tessa. You’re welcome to use me as a pillow any time you like.” His tone told me he’d be more than happy with that..." Sometimes the man just has to go with the flow, "resigned to the fact that our house would soon have a huge-as-hell dog, I stuffed the phone back into my pocket..." I liked this book, I liked Bryce.

I will NEVER get tired of Hope Valley!

Jessica Prince has given us an incredible second-chance romance with Second Time Around.

Bryce and Tessa come face to face after more than ten years of not seeing each other. Even though it was a whirlwind romance, it meant so much more than just a fling to both of them.

Both Bryce and Tessa have deep-rooted issues that are clarified as the story progresses.

This story is angsty, emotional, heart-wrenching but also sexy and heart-warming.

Jessica Prince has created a fantastic series with Hope Valley. This is the SEVENTH book in the series and each book can hold its own. Each hero and heroine have their own issues, their own personas, and because of that this series hasn't run out of steam. There is someone for everyone to identify with within this series.

I don’t care for stories were there is a 10 year gap in a relationship especially when married and there is cheating, because that is what it is when you sleep with other people while still married and you never divorced 🤮 how messed up is it that his family knew he was married but didn’t try to intervene on her behalf when he didn’t want to honor his commitment for 10 years and the promises he made.

Second time around

I’ve been on this Hope Valley journey since the first book, each time I think this my favourite when I finish but honestly they are all fantastic reads.

Strong characters that are relatable and stories that suck you. Must reads.

When Bryce first spotted Tessa he knew subconsciously she was his forever, a whirlwind romance, a Vegas wedding and the promise of forever.

But life has a way throwing demons at you and for Bryce a navy seal it’s war and the ramifications of what happened on his last deployment. He lost friends good men who served along side him and having survived he feels the guilt. Why should he get his happily ever after when his friends didn’t. The hardest thing he did was walk away from her.

Tessa knows of loss. Losing her parents at a tender age she went from a loving and safe home to the foster system. She survived and she made something of herself. A social worker, she’s ready to give back. Meeting the sexy seal in Vegas wasn’t part of those plans but she’s not going to second guess this. Love only comes around so often and she’s going to jump in. What she didn’t expect was her husband to ghost her. No contact, no explanation. It’s like there whirlwind romance didn’t happen.

Ten years have gone. Tessas stronger now and a new opportunity to work at Hope House and the foster kids there she jumps on it. Packing up her life in Texas and hoping for a new life.

What neither of them expected was to run into each other again here in Hope Valley.

Get ready for a second chance romance that’s emotional and just so addictive. Jessica really pulls the heartstrings with this latest story.

No cheating, minimal drama and a steam factor that’ll have you blushing.

I realized when I was about to start The Second Time Around I missed the book before so I went to go read that. Anyway I knew this would be a second chance romance and I was glad to see it had a Sweet Home Alabama kind of feel to it. Meaning the characters were married young a lot of time passes in between they weren't in contact then something happens they meet again. Only this time Bryce is ex navy and he has reasons. They were meant to meet after his tour but things didn't turn out well for him.

So Tessa is new in town and working for Hope House she's been angry at Bryce for a while. While it's obvious a lot of misunderstanding and hurt is there. No mistaking there's still feelings. Only Bryce won't say why he didn't get back to her and Tessa won't hear his reasons. As usual Hope Valley has it's share of interesting characters with back story. The guys usually ex military so they got deep pasts. Tessa has gone through the system so she relates with the kids. She's also got a romantic bone in her that's why she got hurt when Bryce didn't show. But the feelings linger and the chemistry is still strong.

Bryce was determined to win her back even though Tessa's feelings were up in the air. But they grew closer with mutual friends. Bryce was able to open up as well and while that part wasn't too heavy it was tackled. They rekindled their lost love and I happen to like this trope. They made most of their second chance. Full speed ahead for them after with Tessa gaining new family in the Dixon's. Finding her place in Hope Valley. I'm intrigued with new faces introduced too they sound like they got good backstories. I enjoyed this easy writing and engaging story.

"You're my heart and soul, baby."
"And you're my other half."

Good Lord, where do I even begin with this amazing book?! Jessica is one of my all time favorite authors, and I always one click her books as soon as possible, so when the opportunity arose for me to review this book I jumped on if harder than Tessa could get another cronut.😉

Our amazing author has a wicked talent for second chance romances, and in the previous Hope Valley installments, we've gotten glimpses of Bryce's past and the woman he let slip through his fingers. When she shows up after ten long years of being apart, Bryce is determined not to make the same mistake twice. He has been punishing himself for years for something that wasn't his fault, so he convinced himself that he shouldn't be able to be happy .. And broke Tessa's heart in the process. But will he be able to convince Tessa for this second time around?

I am always in my emotions with any book this author writes, but there is something just so special about this one.. from their very first meeting, you can just *feel* the connection that Bryce and Tessa share, and it only gets stronger ten years later. Bryce definitely had so much to make up for, but when he finally shares his reasoning for leaving her, my heart just broke for him. All of these alpha men have the biggest hearts, and love so powerfully.. but I think that Bryce is the best one in the series!! I had the biggest smile on my face throughout this book, and once you read it for yourself you'll understand why! This is such a phenomenal book!!

I can't wait for more books in this series!!! These books are some of my favorite ones, and I can't wait to see what this amazing author will come up with next! :)

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

OH MY GOODNESS!
Jessica Prince!? What have you done to me!
Well I absolutely LOVED every book of the Hope Valley Series so far and THIS BOOK IS NO EXCEPTION!
The Second Time Around is the WONDERFUL second chance love story of Tessa & Bryce!
Awwwww!!!
OMG! I can't stop swooning about the whole book!
When I first met Bryce in Out Of The Darkness I secretly fell in love with him and hoped for his own book.
Now here it is and I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED IT!
Bryce helped Tessa out when he first saw her at a pool one day in Vegas. They had this special kind of connection and enjoyed their time together until Bryce suddenly left Tessa without an explanation.
10 years later Tessa moves to Hope Valley and  guess WHO she meets there! Exactly! BRYCE!
OMG what a surprise! Is Tessa ready to deal with him? You should find it out yourself!
All I can say is that I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVED the story of Tessa and Bryce!
Awwww! What a brilliant book!
I ABSOLUTELY felt their unique connection and enjoyed every moment of their story!
I swooned so much and laughed with them and was scared and shocked and absolutely in love!!!!!!!
OH MY GOODNESS! Jessica Prince words can't even describe HOW MUCH I LOVED THE SECOND TIME AROUND!! ❤❤❤

This is book 7 in the Hope Valley series. All of these are book can be read as standalone. I have devoured each book in the series with complete joy. I love it that characters from the other books turn up and we get to see what they up to.

Hope Valley is town full of love complete with the deliciously hot men who work at Alpha Omega Investigations. Bryce is one of the men who works there. He was a Navy SEAL.

Tessa has a new job as Director of Hope House and is new to Hope Valley. She works in the group home for children set up by Cord and Rory (Stay with Me Book 5). Tessa understands what it feels like to be in the foster child system, after loosing her parents when she was 10 years old.

Obviously, the attraction between. Bryce and Tessa is off the charts but they have a secret. Can they resist each other? Obviously in true Jessica Prince style the road to love isn’t smooth but it’s bumpy with a bit intrigue thrown in.

As far as I am concerned, this is another fabulous book in the Hope Vally series and I hope that it never ends. Each couple is unique but they all fit in together giving us strong and passionate women who are great friends with insanely hot men!

I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

4.5 stars

One would think that seven books into a series that it would be starting to lose a little of its luster or getting to the point that it was time to retire it and discover a new collection of friends and love stories. That is most definitely not the case in regards to Hope Valley. If anything, the series just keeps getting better and better. Each book in the story offers something new and exciting without becoming redundant and boring.

I have loved all the characters so far but there was something special about Bryce and Tessa. I liked their connection. I also loved the reason that this author used to explain why Bryce had purposely kept himself estranged from Tessa all this time. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why or what could have kept him away for ten years. Once I realized his reasons it all made sense. Would I have liked to have known what happened in the ten years between both of them? Absolutely. However, it didn't break the story.

There was a hint as to what was coming next which has me excited to see how this author is going to create another story that will be amazing and fresh. There is a reason that this author is one of my all-time favorites. I highly recommend this series and story. Especially, for the readers that have an affinity to Kristen Ashley because there is a similarity in the writing style.

I love Hope Valley!!! This is Bryce's story. We have been getting glimpses of him in past books but I loved the ending in Out of Darkness when Bryce looks out the window and sees the woman he never stopped loving, but hasn't actually been in contact with for the past 10 years. Tessa is a strong feisty woman who is Bryce's absolute perfect match. Bryce is all alpha loyal and protective. In Vegas, 10 years ago after a week whirlwind romance they pledged forever to each other. But forever didn't happen. Bryce made a decision to walk away believing it was the only thing he could do and it broke both of their hearts. Tessa never understood but eventually went on with her life and now ends up in Hope Valley to start a new job but she's not expecting to run into Bryce Nixon! Bryce realizes he made the biggest mistake of his life and vows to do everything he can to get a second chance with Tessa. Let the swoon, chemistry, and heat begin. There is also a lot of healing for both of them when Bryce eventually discloses why he left. Of course there is also some angst and tears. The girls and guys are all there making this big extended family & friends one of the best. Easily your next 1 click!!!!

Wow, I know some of you must think, #7 how could Jessica Prince keep this story going? Please put away your fears, every story has been treasure to behold, an intricate piece to this endearing community. The Second Time Around includes not only the passion of romance but also the love and support of family, friends and community. In The Second Time Around we are introduced to Tessa, a woman who found love while on vacation after graduating college. Sadly this love only resulted in the breaking of her heart and so her career became her focus. She has worked diligently to help those in the foster system achieve the life and happiness they so richly deserve. It is her career that has brought her to Hope Valley. It is also where she runs into the man who broke her heart so many years ago. Bryce is part of the Alpha and Omega security team but what his fellow employees and friends don't know is that he holds a secret from ten years ago. A secret that involves the newest resident of Hope Valley. Second chances aren't always easy and you have to work for forgiveness and trust. I am in love with this story not only for the romance but also for the second chance stories of those in the foster care system who need to find the acceptance and love of those around them.

You know how eating too much sugar makes you want to puke?
This book probably causes diabetes.
It's not cheesy, per se. I can deal with a bit of that. And it's not the kind of sweetness that makes you say, "Aww..." in spite of it. It's just contrived and I felt like I was being steered to care about this Mary Sue heroine and her equally generic hero.
Her life just conveniently falls into place when she moves house to another state. Perfect job, perfect girlfriends, loads of hot men that make her shiver - odd, since she's supposed to be all hung up on her ex - and, oh, look! It's the ex that ghosted her 8 years earlier. He's in this magical place of unicorns, too. Imagine that 🙄.

A man who is half Korean is unlikely to be six-feet-four and bulging with muscle. Just sayin'.

Also, way too many cutesy endearments - Darlin', honey, baby, big guy, sweetheart. 🤮
Give over. Did the writer forget her character's names?

Perhaps she forgot an editor, as well. A writer with this many books shouldn't be mixing up 'you're' and 'your.'

I abandoned this treasure at 76% after rolling my eyes so many times I decided I couldn't be arsed any longer.
