Gypsies in the Palace

Rate this book
Jake Sullivan is back.

After waking from his coma and rehabilitating his mind and body, he heads to Key West with Mike Lang to combat a new threat.

But he is still plagued with severe headaches, lack of focus, and trouble remembering important details of the night he was shot.

A late night assault at his office turns out to be the catalyst that allows him to concentrate and focus once again. Although the headaches are gone, he still cannot remember the thing he knows to be the key to everything!

At the same time, he and Mike are hunting for a deadly toxin threatening the Keys, a hunt that ultimately leads them to the Bahamas and to the discovery of who is friend and who is foe.

Mike and Jake together again.

Jake recuperates from his coma and is on the trail of group 45 again. This book continues the sage and does not disappoint. I love this series of books. They are an easy read and keep you interested to the very last page. Read the whole series to see how Jake has grown to be a highly respected investigator. You will enjoy every page. I look forward to the next one.

Another fanciful soap-opera adventure has Jake and Mike (with Sam’s hell) pulling rabbits from their hats to save the leaders of the free world.

Unfortunately the quality of the writing and plot have declined the last few books. Over-exposition and under-development, and too-easy solutions (and an inordinate amount of white space). I enjoyed the early books, but it feels forced and there’s been a steep decline over the last 4 or 5 (if not more).

An awesome story by a terrific writer!

A continuing storyline that is well written and entertaining. The characters are clever and relatable. This has been an ongoing series of many adventures, all well done.
