Tom Haftmann left Cleveland homicide--and then his wife left him. He's not doing well as a private investigator in the small resort town where he set up business. Tracking adulterous spouses and runaway kids soon become his major source of income and when a local businessman comes to him for help locating his missing daughter, Haftmann assume he's on another "kiddie hunt."
What he hasn't reckoned with is that, before he knows it, he's going to be dropped into the biggest, most dangerous case of his life so far, one that involves some very dangerous people in a militant white supremacist group led by a brilliant psychopath whose goal is violent revolution in the streets.
Speaking of streets, Haftmann soon has his hands full dealing with the mean streets of Boston where he's following leads to the man's daughter and her boyfriend. Before long, he's butting heads with a Boston detective who doesn't much care for gumshoes in general and Haftmann in particular. Things get messy fast--and there doesn't seem to be an easy solutions that don't involve a violent response.
