Dr. Lorraine Day recommended this book in support of one of the steps in her 10-Step Health Plan, which was to get some daily sunshine for good health. Turns out the sun is not the cancer-causing enemy we have been led to believe, but is actually a healer (as long as you don't burn, and as long as you're not eating a high-fat diet). Sunlight helps to shrink internal tumors, lower blood pressure, decrease anxiety and stress, decrease pain, and helps lower cholesterol by converting it in the skin to vitamin D. No doubt we have been scared away from the sun and into buying more chemicals (sunscreen) that we don't need-- and which are, indeed, suspect in causing skin cancer. An older helpful book and out-of-print. Had to track it down through interlibrary loan but it was worth it. Written by a doctor who references studies.

Environmental doctor. Fascinating man and trailblazer in the rediscovery of sunlight’s healing effects. worth looking up the documentary The Tomato Effect (2006) by daughter Faun Kime.
