As Sarah and Julian begin to forge ahead with plans for their life together, reality becomes an unwanted visitor, intruding at inopportune times. While they continue to search for the answer to Julian’s curse, they realize that the solution may require the combined knowledge of all the vampires. In order to warn the others about the mysterious woman in Destin, an early conclave is organized, giving Julian the opportunity to tell them the information he’s been able to gather so far and to ask them for their help. However, gaining the willing cooperation of the most bloodthirsty among them won’t be an easy feat.

Sarah’s loyalty to the alfar deepens as she become more entangled in their political and personal affairs. Unexpected connections arise between Julian’s earthly past and Sarah’s future with the alfar, bringing them one step closer to understanding the origins of his curse, but generating more problems for them to solve. As the past meets the present, Sarah begins to realize that family secrets can run deep, forging feelings of betrayal that can lead straight to catastrophe.

Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.

The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.

These books just get worse and worse with each addition. I had hoped it would get better, but it's just been a huuuge dip. Sarah comes off so unlikable because she constantly thins about herself and Julian before others, which is how mistakes happen. Nadia told Sarah not to bring Evie, and she did it anyway. She left Miriam's companion alone with the companion of a crazy vampire, what did she thin would happen? And my god, why is she so damn horny all the time. I swear she talks about fucking more than rappers, will someone please calm her raging libido. It's honestly at the point that it's not sexy anymore, it's just awkward and embarrassing. Then so much stupid ish happens and they get out of it so easily because of reasons that will never be explained. I don't know if I can finish the last book :(

I think I'm going to take a break before starting Requiem, but truly this story never cease to amaze. I wish I'd started it sooner. I'm excited for the final part, but I need a break

WOW!!! If you thought the previous episodes in this saga were action packed and suspenseful, just wait until you get into this one. It's amazing that so much could be revealed and so many secrets could be uncovered to expose an elaborate and diabolical plan of revenge that has been forming for generations before Sarah's own birth. Sarah and Julian discover that their lives have been linked a very long time prior to Sarah becoming Julian's vampire companion and their discovering the romantic bond they share. This ancient tie has resurfaced in Sarah and Julian's lives and is determined to wreak havoc on everyone in Alfheim. This story couldn't get any more exciting or suspenseful. The shock value is off the charts as random situations in Sarah and Julian's lives fall into place and the true story begins to become clearer. I can't wait to read the final episode because nothing, absolutely nothing, is a certainty in this story!!!!!

3.5 rounded down

This book was... interesting 😆 The storyline really amps up in this one, there's a lot happening & quite a few twists I didn't see coming. I feel a bit lost on the political system of the Alfar, at times it seems they're just making the rules up as they go, yet they keep telling Sarah how it's just their laws/traditions still no one has actually sat down to explain all of it to her. Which if you ask me is a bit crazy bc well isn't that what they should be doing? Preparing her to be the eventual Queen & all, Nadia was supposed to have already been educating her on all things Alfar & magical yet they've barely spoken about any of it unless something comes up in conversation & Sarah directly has to ask to get clarification. All of that just seems wild to me ATM lol as for the human world, the vampires, witches/warlocks & werewolves side seems to be a bit more put together. While their politics haven't been completely expressed either I do feel there's been a better handling & explanation on their behalf with the council & all. We still don't have all the rules of them but it's definitely more than the other side. As for Sarah & Julian I'm loving the growth they've had & shown, how close they are & how much trust they have with each other. Their plot line I think is progressing nicely & though there's still a lot we don't know I feel we've still gotten a lot about them & I'm starting to form some conclusions on what's happening there. It's definitely an interesting read though to say the least, I do think it could benefit for better system building but otherwise I like the different take on the different creatures & magics.

Listened to book 3 and finding Sarah and Julian still searching for a cure. This book has a lot more action and suspense. It's amazing that so much could be revealed and so many secrets could be uncovered to expose an elaborate and diabolical plan of revenge that has in place for so long even before Sarah's own birth. Sarah and Julian learn their lives have been linked long before they met. Their love grows more each day, and they plan for a future but there are plans that might not let them. Will others help them find the person responsible for turning them into vampires? What happen next, I should have seen coming. Got to listen to the last book to see what happens.
The narrator is good and enjoyed her voice.

I was kinda over this series in book 2 but curiosity got the best of me and I went on to book 3. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. The old adage it's me, not you stands here. I was just too impatient for musings and descriptions of dresses. Sarah got on my nerves a couple of times being so pig headed but other than that, it's a good story. Thank goodness I was able to go to book 4, skip to the last chapter and see how it all ended.
Narrator Carly Robins gave life to every character! She did an excellent job with all 3 books.

A Great Series so far!

I love this author's writing. Never bored. I can't put the book down end up reading the whole book in a day. Even when I take a break I hurry back to start again. If a negative has to be found then it has to be waiting for the next book in the series. This is 2nd of Nov 2017 and I have to wait sometime in the first quarter 2018 . I don't know how many books in this series .

I’m pleasantly surprised that this book was better than the last one. Sarah was still a pain in my ass but the plot twist we got with her was crazy so I’ll let her live. I wish I can go into more details but it’ll ruin the plot. My biggest complaint would be these books need help in the world building and descriptions of places. Whenever they went anywhere I instantly forgot about it so when it’s mentioned later on I feel like I missed something important.

Hold on to Your Seats!

I'm struck speechless by the action-packed rollercoaster third book of the Vampire Conclave series. Sarah, Julian and company are faced with insane rogue vampires, ticked-off werewolves, and revenge-seeking spirits. All of which culminates in one heck of a story. I can't wait to see what S.J. West has for us next!

Whoa!

OMG! I couldn't out down my Kindle. This book was awesome.

Sarah and Julian face so many obstacles in the book. From attending their first conclave, going to Sarah's fake engagement party, and having Julian's closest friend, Evie, betray you all in one story.

A must read!

I think it could have done without the "brainwashing your sister into sexual relations", but hey, maybe that's just me... For me it just never makes sense to insert this into any fictional story at all, so I didn't like it at all.
But all in all, it has time to breath and let's us get to know the characters a little more, which I very much approve of.

Well now the series is getting really good! Still low on spice booo but I guess it’s not that type of book. This one had a few plot twist and turns I wasn’t expecting but am here for it!Poor Jillian and Constance. Nadia wasn’t expecting that. Victor has become one of my favorite characters! Can’t wait to see where the next one takes us!

Wow....that ending. I have high expectations for Requiem, a lot was revealed at the end of Conclave but so much is still left unsaid, (if that makes any sense).

In Moonshade, I believe Sarah told Julian that they are the authors of their own fate, well I can't wait to see what she had in mind.

So crazy,

This one was a little slow throughout, however it always picked back up. So many surprising things in this one. Between Mira, Constance, the babies, Evie and Sarah’s newly discovered power. Can wait to see how everything is handled. Great story,

I love this series but this one I had to skip thru several pages because it got to be too much to keep straight....it was like the ending chapters were overstuffed with detail and you needed a flow chart to sort it out- still I enjoyed it and will see the series thru.
