This short big print pamphlet describes two possible hamstring injuries (neither of which is the one that I have) and a few exercises and a stretch which have been shown to improve strength and flexibility in academic studies. It makes several untrue claims such as that: one set or several have the same strengthening effect or that 4 reps or 10 reps have identical strengthening effects. The fact that a randomly controlled trial does not exist to prove an effect does not prove such an effect does not exist. If you have never engaged in athletics, you might find the exhaustive description of such things as "what is a set?" useful. I did not. On the other hand, I will try his suggestion of doing plank with weight in a backpack.

Also, a quick literature search will find evidence for a minimum of multiple sets for strength increase even over a short duration period. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti....
Studies do not exist for the long durations of many years which is the period actually relevant for anyone who cares to be stronger and more injury resistant for longer than the couple months tested in almost all academic papers.

"Bulletproof your Hamstrings" works well both for people with injuries in their hamstring muscles and those who are looking to prevent beforehand.

In terms of the book itself, the layout is very easy to follow, and has simple, clear diagrams. I love that not only does the book show you exercises to try out, but explains what causes hamstring issues, why each exercise works, and lists every case study or research information to back it up with facts. The author explains the anatomy of the muscles and bones in a way even the most unknowledgeable person can follow, and the exercises are simple but effective that will help pretty much anyone looking to improve. It mentions another book based on back pain, too, which I definitely going to have to check out if that book is as helpful as this one.
