This Honey Bear The New Baby is a favorite children's book, written by the famous children book writer, Jane Carruth, and illustrated by Tony Hutchings
I originally had only two, MAYBE three books from this series but managed to find a few more over the years and, though I only have seven at the moment, I thought it would be a fine place to stop *intentionally* looking for them, since they form a perfect rainbow of colours when shelved accordingly!
Thing is, I don't know if I like this one very much. Like in Hoppity's Good Deed, the main character (this time, Tippu) has a dramatic change of attitude from the start of the book. Also like in Hoppity's Good Deed, the change of heart isn't from anything specifically shown to the reader.
No, "Hey, my baby sister is pretty cute!" No, "Hey, she smiled at me!" No, "Aww, she grabbed my finger!"
Just, Tippu went in to hiding when Great Aunt Lucy came over and was thought to have run away only to be discovered helping his not-so-beloved little sister go to sleep. Just because. I don't know a single young reader who just SPONTANEOUSLY decides to be a perfect saint.
To be fair, I don't know a lot of young readers, particularly these days when they're well below my age range instead of peers, haha.
But I mean, at least SHOW the transformation, maybe? Might be a little more believable than, "Oh, OFF-camera, I decided to be good for no reason."
