This was a super short novella, under a 100 pages and very fast paced, so for that reason I won’t be rating it because there wasn’t enough content and even if I were to rate it I would have no idea how to. this book has a brother's best friend, sorta second chance/the one that got away, forced proximity, some possessiveness, hockey romance, and accidental pregnancy. It follows Zach and Kaitlin, who met when they were kids and got close when Zach became friends with her brother Jesse. Over the years, Zach and kat develop feelings for each other but keep it to themselves, until one day they cross the line that changed everything. Four years later, Jesse asks Zach to watch over Kaitlin while he goes away for work for six months and Zach immediately agrees with hopes of rekindling their friendship. Then we get to see flashbacks of their past over the years which I liked and how they got accustomed to their new friendship/relationship. If you want something super short to tide you over until your next read, then this might be for you.

*flashback scene*
“Hey, Zach.”
“What?”
“I’m going to call you my friend, even if you don’t want to be mine.”
“How did you know to call me?”
“You’re Zach’s medical emergency contact.”
“I am?”
“You are.”
“How about we start out with that friendship we used to have. No pressure. Nothing more. Let’s just work on that.”
“Okay.”
“I’m still going to flirt with you like crazy.”
“Okay.”
“But when I’m in, I’m going to be all the way in. So, understand that if this goes any further, it isn’t going to be some fling. It’s going to be for good.”
“Now, Kaitlin and our baby, together in my life, I suddenly realized that this is what I wanted. This is what I always wanted. I just hadn’t realized it.”
“I’ve always loved her, Jesse, but coming back to her this time felt like I had been waiting my entire life for this.”
“You love her?”
“I love her. I want to marry her. I have no life without her.”
