Every Muslim is aware of the importance of the Prophet’s hadiths. Islam is based on two major sources: the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and the latter is available to us in the form of hadiths. The Prophet said, “Whoever comes to know one hadith of mine should spread it.” However, the Prophet also told us to be careful when spreading his hadiths so as not to alter any component of it, otherwise, “he can take his seat in the hellfire.” Within this book I have incorporated 200 small hadiths of the Prophet. The reason for choosing the smaller hadiths of the Prophets is so that the youth can easily become accustomed to the words of the Prophet. All the hadiths concern the important matters of the religion, which every person should have knowledge of. I have come to the realization that many youth from among the Muslims have not memorized even one hadith of the Prophet. For this reason I have chosen smaller hadiths so that they can be easily memorized by them and they can spread them to others. This way our relatives and our friends can memorize some words of the Prophet which will bring them benefit in the hereafter. This book has purposely not been organized into any specific categories. Experience through the years has taught me that this style of non-categorization is easier for the general masses who are not scholars or students of knowledge. I am also aware that many languages exists out there in which the hadiths of the Prophet have not yet been translated. This is why, Allah-willing, my intention is to have this small work translated into at least 30 different languages.
Within this book you will find 200 Hadith's or sayings of Muhammad. The book itself was constructed with the sole intention of encouraging Muslim youth to begin to memorize them again. It's construction was done in a short and easy to consume style conducive to memorization.
The sayings are more for day to day living and appropriate conduct. It encourages charitable behavior and respect for kinship. They even warn against misinterpretation, though when a saying is ambiguous a solid interpretation has to be guessed at.
Because of the short easy to consume writing style the sayings often feel disjointed and out of context. The main reason being that they are an abbreviation of a much larger text. I did enjoy that they included the Arabic as well as the English because I enjoy the visual appeal of Arabic.
I would recommend this book for anyone who wants a good introduction to the Hadith, and if you are anything like me, it makes me want to read the text in it's entirety.
Very interesting for me to be able to read one Muslim scholar's short selection of the most important Hadith, presumably a taster of the kind of thing contained in the rest. Really helpful.
Loved this one:
"Whoever can guarantee to me what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will guarantee Paradise to him." (Saheeh al-Bukhari, 6474).
This one is pretty conclusive too:
"No one who has an atom's weight of pride in his heart will enter Paradise" (Saheeh Muslim, 91)
“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
Lovely pocket book for hadiths, the choice of the hadiths is balanced, delicate. I love the design and graphics in there. It truly represents the identity of Islamic doctorines. May Allah grant the organizer health and blessings. When you read it, you get a window to the life of the Prophet Peace be upon him. Keep the good work Darsalam publishing Press.
There are thousands of hadiths, but the ones selected in this book should be good guidances to anyone to live their life. Very light and easy to understand hadiths
Excellent small collection of sahih hadiths. Suitable not just for Muslims, but for everyone regardless of their religion. 10/10 would and will read again.
This book comprises of 200 special and important (a)hadith in both Arabic and English. There's the sources at the back which is helpful if you want to see if the hadith is correct or not. Very good book that I shall be using for my HOTM (hadith of the month).
Lovely collection of hadiths from the Prophet (pbuh) but they have been shortened or compressed to make for easy remembrance and daily meditation. Use for a lovely little reminder source but not a main text.
