*I received this as an ARC*

I WANT MORE!!!! It ended on a bigger cliffhanger than in Book 1, and I want to scream! Book 2 immediately picks up right after Book 1, and it did not slow down one bit. We're not introduced to new characters, but rather, they are fleshed out even further. We really see Bel become the ruler she really wants to be here, and hearing her thoughts on how she wants to move forward and change the queendom is quite amazing. Love triangles are a thing of the past, thank goodness. Don't need to dwell on it here as it's settled. However, we do see her struggle between herself and the essence, and that is interesting to see as her thoughts are pulled between the two. I thought that was done very well. I couldn't put it down, and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait for Book 3!!

Book two continues this intriguing tale wonderfully, yet there are still so many unanswered questions with no hint to if another book is coming which is slightly off putting. A great foundation has been laid and this book two has truly done its job of creating the interest to read more. The writing is great, the storyline is compelling, and the characters stay with a reader. Normally at the end of books readers are given a hint of up and coming next but not this time. Ugh! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

Can the Queendom of Lore survive what's to come?

Total Score: 5/5

Summary:

The Queendom is still under threat from Maxia, a past member of the leadership, who will do whatever she needs to take control. Arabella is forced to make decisions that she isn’t ready for, but she will never leave anyone behind. Unlike the other members of the ruling class, Arabella holds each life as equally important. That is something the Relics, or serving class has never seen. Arabella’s fight for those she loves will be put to the test as their enemy starts her final move. Can the Queendom and Arabella survive what is to come?

This is an incredible fast paced story with the most unexpected twists. I am fascinated with how magic is used to protect their society, but the rules they live by may not be entirely truthful considering Arabella herself was a Relic before the queens essence chose her as a host. Things for the Queendom may be changing if they survive what lies ahead.

What an enjoyable book! I was just as mesmerized reading this the second book in the Betrayal of Magic series as I was the first book. I read it continuously in one sitting without stopping. Bel has become Queen and continues to buck at the long held system of rulership and make her own path. But the evil one, Maxia, is becoming more cunning and ruthless. She has kidnapped Bel’s mother and Bel will stop at nothing to rescue her. However, Maxia will stop at nothing to use her mom to blackmail Bel into surrendering her power to Maxia so she can rule as queen. Maxia is one of those characters that you just love to hate. I felt sorry for Thea as she was sucked in to do Maxia’s bidding. Since Bel grew up in the lower caste, she could relate with how difficult it was for them. Once she became Queen, she wanted to make changes to the system but got caught up in fighting Maxia and her evil ones. In addition, there were many other characters described in this story that were easily relatable. I also thought the world building was very well described and easy to imagine. After a few twists and turns in the plot I felt very disheartened for Bel, her mother, and the loss of some of her acquaintances. I was very surprised and frustrated by the ending. Now we have to wait for the third book in this series to find out what happens next. I hope the wait isn’t too long. I received a free advance copy of this book.

This book continues Arabella's journey of managing the threats facing her Kingdom as well as coming into her own as a person and a queen. Throw in her strong ties to her family and fiance, and you are left with a character who is pulled in several different directions and struggles to do right by everyone around her. The book seemed to be falling into a cliche at one part, but it has managed to sidestep it for now.

The book ends on an even bigger cliffhanger than the first one. While I am not a huge fan of cliffhangers, I understand their need from an author's viewpoint. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

NOTE: I received an ARC of this book. However, this did not impact my review and ratings.

So very late review, I kept trying to check and see when they added The Fall of Lore. These past few weeks have been busy for me with moving and starting a new job, but I finally have time to go back and review this!

Fall of Lore does not disappoint with continuing Arabella's journey as queen and how having the previous queen's spirit is affecting her. I don't want to give too much away but old characters return and new ones appear. All I will say is that I can't wait for the next book!!

I received an ARC for my honest opinion of this book.

The received an Advance Readers Copy at no cost to the author. The continuing story of Arabella who has inherited the queen’s essence. The story talks about how she struggles with maintaining her own identity while trying to incorporate the new memories. Bel finds herself at odds with some of her actions. Honestly and trust become big issues for her throughout the book. There is a cliffhanger since the story continues on to another book.

Holy Queendom! This story is full of energy, and surprises! Magic, intrigue and danger, make this book emotional and purely fascinating!
There are characters that are simply outstanding and there are characters you love to hate.
A storyline that pulls you into the magical world of Lore and beautifully written world building!

This is such a great series. Fast paced, full of action and suspense I love it. This book is a real page turner, it was impossible to put down. I love Bel's refusal to completely conform to the rules, and her desire to help all of the citizens of Lore. I love her brother, his addition in this book is wonderful. Can't wait for more!

Lost

How much can be lost before all is lost? Who do to trust and who are you willing to risk everything for? What would you be willing to lose to get that one person back in your life?

This is an exciting read. I enjoyed the storyline and watching her learn to adapt to her responsibilities.
Like the first book, this one ends with quite a cliffhanger.

This book is just as good as the first and picks up right where book one stopped. It continues the story nicely and shows the characters growing as the story goes on.
