Founded in 1983 by a poor Italian nun, Mother Elvira Petrozzi, Comunita Cenacolo began in an abandoned old house in Saluzzo, Italy. Today, with over 2,000 members worldwide, the community is a free, fully residential Catholic program for people seeking to overcome substance abuse. This is Mother Elvira's story of her community's founding and growth and of the powerful principles that guide its uniquely successful programs.
Such a simple, warm, encouraging, welcoming, and wholesome book. Mother Elvira writes with equal passion and simplicity about a cause that is so important - both to her and the rest of the world. Her mission to care for and love those lost individuals who seek for comfort and meaning in the world and turn them towards their purpose is has all the determination, grit, and affection as St. Mother Theresa and all the simplicity and tenderness of St. Therese of Lisieux. I have been to one of her Cenacolo communities and the peace and spirit of cooperation I felt in how everyone interacted is a testament to Mother Elvira's passion and hard work which is absolutely amazing to see.
Nihil sine Deo!
