I laughed. I cried. I winced at the take-offs on Chicken Run and the Mommas and Poppas but I loved every minute of it. At one point, caught up in the puns and animal antics, I realized that this little tome is brilliant. It's everything you need and nothing you don't. I'm going to reference it in my talks and encourage everyone who wants to know what lean is all about to get it and enjoy it for themselves. BTW, the drawings are inspired. Thanks to both Nirs!
Seriously - a business graphic novel about Evil Gramazon, Hole Foods, a Rooster, a Worm named Patricia, an Owl and a cohort of birds of feather?
“Why would anyone want to read a business graphic novel ”...The publisher told us when we pitched the concept of a Lean Startup comic book two years ago.
So, Michael wrote the Pragmatist Guide to Corporate Lean Strategy which was published by Apress Media. It explains how Lean, Agile, Lean Thinking, Lean UX, and Design Thinking fit together.
However it lacks the beauty, creativity and simplicity of the lean startup approach.
We hope the graphic novel Lean Chickens Learn Lean you are holding in your hands rectifies this shortcoming.
We are hopeful that the comic book format will appeal to managers and leaders who are innovating the future; Who, much like Ross the Rooster, bear the burden of building digital and non digital businesses and thriving through the rapid changes in local and global markets.

Chickens Learn Lean is an informative and fun read that truly helped me rethink my product development process. I particularly enjoyed the amusing illustrations. The language is a bit choppy, nevertheless, it conveyed the material successfully.
