I absolutely adore this series! It’s so comforting to me even if we don’t see much happen. This particular volume introduces another character by the name of Mero who is interested in/may have feelings for Kanade. He’s also an aspiring musician so he takes a leap and asks Kanade and Otoha to Ultima Rock Festival which is an urban music festival. I loved that we were seeing a music festival in a different setting. This particular festival showcased bands in music clubs instead of on outdoor stages like those that have been featured in previous volumes. We also get a lot more insight to Ritsu who is really struggling with what he wants to do with his life. I’m hoping that we get more of his story in the next volume because I’m intrigued by him. There was also a “back story” of sorts where we learn about the Kanade’s favorite band Daze on Youth. I thought that this was a unique thing to include since we hear so much about the group. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is going to happen with them in volume 4. Overall, this did not disappoint. I’m loving learning more about music festivals as well as more about the characters. If you haven’t read any of Days on Fes, I definitely recommend checking them out.
This series does a great job setting the atmosphere and making you feel alongside the characters. The teenagers' sections are a lot of fun, partly because they're so excited and it's a delight to see them experience things for the first time. The adults' sections are relatable in a different way, but also quite the tone shift (I worry about Ritsu sometimes, I do.)
(I didn't care for the side story, which ended up boiling down to the old trope.)
I really like it so far; I think the guy that has a crush on Kanade is so cute and I hope he becomes successful in his band. Also, I really like the back story on Haruto the main characters favorite person in her favorite band, Daze of youth. Overall, the series is really good so far and I can't wait till the next volume comes out.
Another great volume! I feel like this series is such a hidden gem! We get introduced to Mero, an up and coming guitarist from an indie band who is classmates with Kanade and Otoha. We also learn about Haruto’s background and how Day on Youth came to be! I’ll definitely be continuing on to the next volume!
This volume had me really connecting with Ritsuru and his feelings on the work-life. And I love Gaku as an inspirational rolemodel. Nice seeing an urban festival showcased in this volume. I just want more of Days On Fes.
