The ocean has stolen everything Wyatt Barnes has ever loved. After losing his wife and daughter, he floats through his day-to-day life in a trance. Afraid that finding happiness will mean he’s moving on without his family, he avoids it at all costs. That is until Maryn Foster and her annoyingly happy golden retriever move in next door. Attempting to move on from a painful past of her own, Maryn can’t help but feel drawn to Wyatt. Maybe together they can learn that sometimes it’s easier to go with the current than to fight against it.
I couldn’t put “Swept Away” down, but if you know Kim’s work, you know she does that to you. It’s as though Kim thoughtfully picks out each word and that word leads to the next until you realize your on the very last page. . 💔My heart hurt so bad for Wyatt. Losing two of the most important people in his life and blaming himself. While Wyatt and everyone else knows it isn’t his fault it isn’t until Silas, the golden, and Maryn that his guard starts to fall down. I loved how Maryn came into Wyatt’s life at his lowest but didn’t bat an eye at his new life. From drinking and sleeping on the beach to missing work for a whole year. . 🐶 I loved the characters and image Kim creates from her words. The story is set on the beach and it was as though I was on that same beach. . 📚 If you’ve read anything previously by Kim, I want to leave you with this. “Swept way” is darker & spicer than anything Kim has ever written. However, I think you will be pleased with this wonderful book. .
Thank you @it’s kimhatch for sending me an early copy. With each book you write, I fall in love with your writing a bit more. Xo
