Genoa Mafia #4

Playing Jasper

Rate this book
I love to play the game.

Love them and leave them.

Then I met my match, Jackie Smith, and everything changed.

She’s a reporter, and I’m a made man. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. It doesn’t matter that she could shatter my life and all I’ve worked for...I want her.

Underneath her sweet, caring exterior, she’s hiding pain from her past, and yearning for revenge. I can leverage this to my advantage. I can demand her loyalty, her unconditional love.

It’s the same game, with a bit of a twist.

The only problem is…she might be playing me.

4 what a book stars!! I really loved this story, the characters were fun to read... definitely worth the one click!

I read this book in one sitting and I'm so glad I did. I really loved the whole storyline and let's be honest, I love a mafia book! And this one was just fabulous! I loved the characters, they were so easy to love and really understand. I liked that the story was unique compared to other mafia books I've read as well! Definitely worth the read if you like sexy mafia men!

This was another great story in the Genoa Mafia series!

In the previous books, I loved Jasper, wanted to know his story, wanted him to have his HEA.

Jasper...sexy mafia man, so suave, charming, a ladies man...yet ready for love and wanting to find someone to call his own.

Jackie...a former reporter, a take no crap kinda gal, who swore she’d never be with a made man. But can she resist the handsome and smooth-talking Jasper?

He’s such a player.
Or are those days behind him?
With the way he’s acting toward her, the way he’s treating her so special, she’s beginning to wonder.
The gifts, the kind words...the honesty.

Even with the truth of what he does, he was still able to break down her walls and make her fall for him. And who could blame her? He’s thoughtful, caring, and protective.

This was a very enjoyable read for me. I have read the other books in the series, so it was nice get back to Lake Genoa. And it was also great to see the appearances of past characters. I do believe this could be read and enjoyed without reading the first three books.

This is a week for new authors to me. I can’t believe I have waited this long to experience her work! This is the fourth book of the series and I could keep up just fine. Jasper is a member of the mafia and Jackie is a reporter looking for a little something new. This is a story full of twists, suspense, intrigue, secrets, revenge and love. I couldn’t put it down and it captivated me from the prologue. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for more!!

Finally… This day had arrived and I couldn’t be happier… I’ve been waiting for this book for a while now and let me just say that I didn’t start it right away because it was almost 2 am because of it was earlier I would have started it.
Ginger Ring is the Hong writing Mafia books and I want you to give Gervais chance. You’ll see…
Her writing is raw and wild, dark and intense, with so much desire and all that jazz.
Playing Jasper is her latest release and it’s the fourth book from the Genoa Mafia series.
But before I tell you a bit more about this new book, I totally advise you to read Madison’s Mobster, Crossing Roman, Escaping Ryan, Destroying Dominic and then this one.
This new book explores the lives of Jasper and Jackie.
Jasper is used to living his life surrounded by danger. He’s a one-night stand type of guy but when Jackie entered his life…
One look at Jackie and you only see her smile, her caring exterior but underneath it, all hides a broken girl that has so many demons haunting her.
Amazed… That’s how I felt after reading this book. It was another masterpiece.
Superb plot, super engaging and intense. Each chapter was even more perfect than the latest and once I started to read it was nearly impossible to stop.
Drama, danger, crime, and punishment are very present in this book as well as love, loyalty, desire, friendship, and family bonds. It doesn’t matter what you want because normally it’s your heart that rules your life.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to enter the story and do some bad stuff but then there was other stuff that changed my mind…
These two were perfect for each other and it was great to have news from the other character from this series. I really advise you to read the other books from this series…
Ginger… Oh, Ginger, this book was perfect and I can’t wait for Arlo’s story… Will we wait too long?

I'm already a big fan of Ginger Ring, and the Genoa Mafia series, so I was ready for this book! And OH MY HELL, the Prologue started this book off with a bang! Now, Jackie was a reporter who dying a bit inside with her job at a local small paper since not much happened where she lived, so when she was offered a job, she jumped at the change, especially when she looked up the family running the place, and learned that it was run by the wife of a crime family. She certainly didn't count on a hot made man named Jasper to start pursuing her. The moment Jasper set eyes on Jackie, he decided that he wanted to make her his, and no matter how many times she turned him down, he wasn't giving up. They have some serious chemistry, yet, she's not willing to date a man part of a crime family, but Jasper doesn't have it in him to give up. So who will win this battle of wills at the end of the day?! Yeah, Jasper was definitely entertaining in his pursuit of Jackie, while she stood strong against the mouthwatering man, who knew how to woo a woman. And it was slow going, so it refreshing, because Jackie didn't just land in his bed, nope, it took a bit before he got into her pants, and when he did, they lit the sky up. Now, there are a ton of twists in this story, and they really hit about half way through, leading up to the finale, so my f-bombs really got a work out because they were dropping fast & furiously by this time. Oh, and I certainly loved the cast of secondaries, though at times, they came off scary. Anyway, this was another great read in this series, so you know what to do if you want to know how it all pans out! Get to one clicking! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Giner Ring is a new author to me. Boy oh boy was I missing out. This is book four into the Genoa Mafia Series. I was able to follow along just fine. I was captured from the first page. That prologue drew me in. There is mystery, drama, lies, and omissions. Loved it

The book opens with a bang, literally. There is so much going on and had no problem following everything. I loved Jasper such an awesome guy with a big heart. Yes, he is a hard made mafia man and a complete alpha and in charge of what needs to be done. He had been feeling off for quite some time and when He meets Jackie he knows why.

Jackie is fairly new in town and is giving herself just enough time to see if she is going to stay. She isn't sure what small-town life will be like. She works at the paper doing ads. She wants the next big story, however, nothing really happens in this town. She feels she is lacking so when an opportunity presents itself she jumps on the chance for a change.

These two have so much chemistry and Jaski is fighting the attraction. She wants long term and Jasper wants one night. There was drama, lies, and omissions and so many and turns that I was kept on the edge of my seat. I loved the people and how they were all a family.

I truly loved this book. I loved the friendship and Jasper can change who he is so easy. You get the cold-hearted mob player and warm and fuzzy big-hearted man when he is around Jackie thinking of her.

I look forward to more from this author and want to go back and read the first three books.

This is a book I was truly looking forward to reading, especially after meeting Jasper in Destroying Dominic. Jasper is a smooth ladies man, love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. But don’t be fooled by his great looks – he’s just as dangerous as the rest of them, maybe even more so. Enter Jackie, an ex-reporter looking to find the people that killed her parents, so as you read, you never know if she’s just setting up the family – at times you think she is – or if the family is using her. Nothing goes on in Roman’s town that he doesn’t know about, I learned that fast in these books, so I doubt Jackie is as secretive as she thinks or as innocent.

But Jasper is smitten, and the book is romantic and dangerous at the same time. There several twists that happen that I didn’t expect – and the mafia part of the book is back and deadly, even more so than in the last book.
How do you reconcile loving characters that part of a mob? Even though it’s dangerous, these guys and ladies have hearts of gold, and nothing is safer than being in the “family.”

And as I personally live very close to the city in which this book is based in, there have always been talks and rumors about the mafia in this area. So even though this is fiction, it’s not out of the scope of realism for the real world. The author also integrates real life places, such as a historic winery that is close by. A highly recommended series.

A new author for me and with one look at the cover I just knew I had to read this book (yep! I’m a gal who’s easily seduce by the cover of a sexy dude).
This is a fourth book from the series but I didn’t feel lost as series continuity wasn’t needed.
Jasper is a member of the mafia, he’s a collector and Jackie is a reporter looking for something different, meeting Jasper just may be it.
It’s a dark story at times, but does have a dark humorous side to it too, (I thought so any way). A nicely paced well written story with little twists, intriguing secrets, a slight tongue in cheek humour and love.
I’m glad I decided on this entertaining read, and intend to read more of this authors work. I highly recommend this book!

Loved Jasper and the Mafia Intrigue...5 Stars!
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I love Mafia books and this one did not disappoint me. Jasper, a good-looking Mafia man, is falling fast and hard for the beautiful red head, Jackie. He treats her like a Queen while trying to convince her to go out with him. While Jackie knows he is part of the Mafia, she has secrets herself. It's fast paced and kept my interest from the very beginning to the last page. Lots of secrets and twists. Loved the ending. I highly recommend this book to you.

This is the fourth book in this intriguing series, and is Jasper and Jackie’s story. Jasper is a member of the mafia, and Jackie is a reported who could be his downfall. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written story which is fast paced, and with twists, revenge, secrets, and love. I was enthralled throughout and cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I recommend.

It was a bit well written book and I do love everything this author writes. I have to say that there is a shocking twist towards the end of the book that I did not see coming so that made the book even better. I liked this couple together and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

I just couldn't get on board with this story, the main couple, or the "mafia" in this small town. Nothing felt authentic, and I just wasn't sure that, at the end of it all, the heroine was head over heels in love with the hero. And the whole situation with her being caught setting the mobsters up/snitching on them - it's like some of them knew ahead of time what she was going to do, let her do it, and then waited around to see if they would let her get away with it. Nothing felt smooth about this. The rest of the series is a pass for me.

Ginger is a new writer to me .
It didn't hooked me at all. In the beginning it looked interesting and I'd though to read the hole series but it lost it sparkle while I was advancing in the story.
I thought to stop reading it but let give a try to it till the end I thought. So now I at chapter 15 and 10 other chapters to go till the end and hope that will catch my attention. The story is good in general buuut again something is mis

Jackie and Jasper, what's not to love. A bad boy, who likes to love em and not get tangled up. A good girl who lost her parents and wants no part of the life Jasper leads. But, as the sparks fly, they both realize that they might want more. A great addition to this series. I can't wait for more.
