Another enjoyable read although at times the story verges on farce rather than SCiFi. The Earth (and Moon) are deluged with lost ‘saucers’ and the ‘Patrol’ seems to be full of corrupt officers.
If possible I would have given 3.5 stars.

Alien Bigfoot

I slowly am becoming adapted to the author’s quirky sense of humor though there are times I miss one or two of the lines of culture when dropped in the story. I’ve obviously not watched enough movies in my past to catch every reference.

Boring

There were way too many characters in the books, I had a hard time remembering who was who. I also could not understand why everything had to be secret, was the government unaware of the growing community of hundreds of people from the original two in just a few months. The large increase of buildings and the increased activity that the Air Force and the satellites would see. No one would notice all the Old people getting young, and all the wealth flowing out of nowhere.

It's simplicit

The author keeps repeating the same phrases. He should expand the characters. Also needs to expand the plot beyond his basic premise. How many times can you use caveman or space cadet before it gets old

How many fucking people go missing on this single mud ball? And what exactly are all these aliens doing on earth? We are in book 4 and we still have not figured this out yet.

Someone is going to a lot of effort to upset Bob. To ruin his days, menace his nights, and make him dead. It makes everybody grumpy worrying about losing Bob, so eventually he has a brief talk with the hired assassin. Was the killer not trying very hard? Or does Bob have freakishly good luck?

And what about bigfoot? For the answer to these and other questions, read book #4 of the Bob and Nikki series!

The books are getting better, there's less crude language (Yay!), and more rescues mean new characters to be friends or foes.

A problem the author had with this book was switching from one rescue/repair operation to the other. Conversations changed topics, but it wasn't always clear (at first) who was the subject. And I'm really tired of Bob's nickname that starts with "A!" It wasn't funny to begin with. (Four books of the same pathetic "joke." The horse is dead, just bury it!)

Great Story

Love the storyline. great plot.

Editorial comment:
I read 60-80 books a year but find myself getting lost in the dialogue and half to reread sections. More description of whose is talking. I know when writing it is clear in your mind, and your writing the dialogue as fast as possible to get it down. But, maybe add a full line break between people talking, something that will indicate a change of speaker. I know “Bob stated,” “Bob said” etc gets repetitive.. but really helps reader to mentally change character.

same as transitioning.. seems to jump quickly from the kitchen to the barn.

Love the storyline .

The ideas and the characters hold up extremely well so far in the series. What I love is that this book shows an evolution in the writing style and story construction. The only downside I have is the sheer number of characters involved - It was a little while since I read the previous book and trying to remember who is who took away from the enjoyment. Some of the plot devices felt underwhelming in their construction and took me out of the story as they were rushed elements. I do like these books a lot and will read book 5.

On to the next!

I normally don’t read stories that are longer than a trilogy, largely because the stores don’t hold up for longer than that.

However, I’ve been so enjoying the Bob & Nikki series that I’m about to go into book 5 with eager anticipation!

These books are entertaining, the characters are good people, and the adventures don’t stop!

Jerry Boyd’s Bob and Nikki series is so much fun!

Ok I've read 4 of these now

If you're looking for something where nothing very bad happens, you've come to the right place. I was getting a little tired of the drum roll of disaster that 2020 was and decided I needed a break and this series fits the bill. It is not hard science. In fact if you're looking for plausible science go elsewhere. But if you're looking for clean fun and a positive outlook you have arrived.

Another good one!

The author isn't big on things like chapter breaks, which bugs some people, but scene breaks are clear so you don't get mixed up as to where they are and who is talking, so the lack of chapter breaks doesn't bother me a bit.

I enjoyed the book and I love this series, so I'm glad it has a lot of books. With 37 books in it (if I'm remembering right) it's going to give me 2 months of reading enjoyment.

Boyd, Jerry. Starfoot. Bob and Nikki No. 4. Kindle, 2019.
What’s up at Bob’s Saucer Repair? Well, marooned saucers on the Moon and some hairy guys with big feet who enjoy fart games and Frisbee. Among other things. It is the usual eclectic rather fun mess with a little surprise at the end. No hints. Three and a half stars.

A Great Series

I passed by this series a lot looking for other books but this time I finally gave this series a try and I could kick myself for passing it by for so long. This is really a fun series with a lot of fun people and crazy things happening. I will definitely give this series Two Thumbs up

A light hearted take of what should be the current swashbuckling genre.

Spaceships, love, and good fun. The kind of story to read with a good beer and a warm patio to read it on. A very conversational style of writing, easy to read. The names often get me confused. I have enjoyed these books so far , today. Only 20+ more in the series. I will write more about them as I can.

Very fun and quick read

This is a very fun and entertaining series. My husband and I are both reading it and getting lots of laughs from it. These are our kind of people. My only complaint is the lack of chapters so I know when to stop reading and typos, which have gotten less as the books go on. Good job, Jerry.

Sometimes, all I need is a good, witty, lighthearted story. This series fills that need completely. I love Bob, Nikki and all of their wild and crazy shenanigans! I don’t always get the cultural references but, I love the action and the fun that’s packed into each episode. I highly recommend it.

Best chapter yet!

So much - maybe too much - packed into another volume of the adventures of Bob and Nikki. Very likable characters, interesting story lines woven together. Still some problems with the proofreading, and sometimes i get a headache trying to follow the dialogue, but me of that than the last.
In still enjoying the series. I Silk read the next one

Of you liked the first books, you will like this one

Book 4 of the series
Frankly, some more details about the action would be appreciated.
Sometimes it feels like I am reading an outline.
More explanation of the characters back story would help.

Fun talez of nice people

Living in interesting times. Its always more fun to read about that than to live it. Not remarkably polished but genuine tale of the adventures of Bob and his pals having their universe expanded. Fun pop culture references.

Lots of fun!

Bob is innovative and definitely hero material, wrapped in a hillbilly package. Love all the cultural jokes and making fun of Bob. Non stop action and the personalities and great.

Mr. Boyd has lots of repartee loaded with zingers. There is very little repetition in the first four books, so the dialog is fresh. These are great feel good stories. Very nice in this time of uncertainty. Starting on #5 now. CMac

Yipee

Practice doesn't always make perfect but sometimes you get what you want. Twins! lol 1 of each. Since 1 book is about a week she will never have them unless there is a larger jump in time. 14 books hhhmmmm nope 14week is a lot less then 9months.

Fun as usual, great ending 😄

I have been losing to much sleep lately because I can't seem to put these books down. Fun action series but it is my off kilter funny filter that keeps me coming back. Now where's my wife ... Need some more practice 😇

Holding up well the plot twists and characters help

While I still feel the good old southern or western country boy is used more than I feel optimal the light touch has kept aboard and these are still good value for their price.

Just Fun

This is just a great fun read for those of us that can slip their IQ and relax. You do have to have some familiarity with nonsensical songs, movies and books mostly from the sixties, seventies and eighties to appreciate much of the humor.
