Their Dads made them do it!

Awesome prequel and start to this series! I love bully or hate to love romance and this was that and more. There is quite a bit of mystery surrounding the guys at the inferno house at Yale. They are the guys that run the school, the sons of the wealthiest and they are all seniors and they look like they just stepped off of Mount Olympus.

They are nine guys that grew up together and have a tight bond. Their nicknames are based on the nine circles of hell (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery). They are ruled by their fathers and they want to break free more than anything. Their father’s still hold the purse strings with an iron fist and force them to get certain students under their thumbs by having them owe favors to the Inferno boys.

Their fathers don’t tell them why just tell them what to do and when. There are more mysteries, like where the does Treachery’s (a.k.a. Tanner’s) and the twins Anger and Violence (Damon and Ezra) father’s take the twins every few weeks and why so they come back all beat up and why won’t they talk about it?

Law student Luca Bailey is in her second year at Yale when she first attends a party at Inferno House. Tanner Caine embarrasses her, but she is intrigued by him and as much as she wants to stay away from him, she keeps getting thrown together with him and she can’t resist the pull. Luca has heard stories and seen the results of what happens when people owe the inferno guys a favor and never wants to be put in that position, but Tanner seems to want nothing more than to get her in that very place.

The book is full of of heated stares, steamy kisses, and spicy scenes between Tanner and Luca as well as quite a bit of mystery and suspense as to what is going on with their fathers, why they take it and why the nine guys are such jerks also. I like the fact that neither Luca nor Tanner want to have this attraction for each other and both of them seem to be a bit inconvenienced by it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

'TREACHERY PREQUEL: comes before Treachery of the Antihero Inferno Series and occurs during the college years.

Lily White has set the stage perfectly with this short installment and because of this my anticipation levels for the next book are off the roof!! I don't know what this author is doing but whatever it is she's doing it right. She's on fire!!

This is just the beginning of Luca and Tanner's story, and what a tantalizing way to start this one off. This story introduces us to the nine inferno boys each boys nicknames are based on the nine circles of hell (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery).

When it came to Luca everything is premeditated, from befriending her, to everything in between. These boys are puppets on a string controlled by their fathers.

Our fathers days are numbered. They just didn't know it. All nine of us were biding our time, waiting until all the factors were in place for us to retire the generation above us so we could take over. Until then, we did as we were told.

These boys were to be avoided at all costs.

Tanner Caine also known as Treachery with the cold dark demeanour, watches Luca like a predator awaiting the right time to strike whenever she's in his proximity. His intensity was overbearing and I was curious to see how far his seemingly hatred towards Luca would go.

I remembered from my comparative religion classes in undergrad that Satan was believed to present himself as the most beautiful man in existence.
Tanner fit the bill perfectly. But I was beginning to learn it was also true that his demons were just as beautiful.

Luca spent most of her high school days slaving away studying so she could get into Yale to get her law degree and because of this she didn't have much of a social life, but now that her second year had started she'd begun to ease back on the constant work load and was even starting to go out more with her bestie aka roommate.

At one such party she attends at the Inferno House she connects eyes with Tanner. A heated, steamy stare off ensues. But after he embarases her in front of the other party goers. She vows from this point onwards that she will stay away from him.

But an unseen magnetic force pushes these two together more times than not.

I've gone from loving this author to becoming obsessed with her, her writing is amazing!! This book held me hostage and hasn't let go..Once started I raced through those pages as though my ass was on fire, I couldn't read fast enough!! Now I'm begging you if you see her on social media kick her back in her writers cave, because I NEED MORE!!

I usually have trouble rating novellas and rarely give them more than 4 stars, but since I know this is just the beginning of Luca and Tanner's story, I feel comfortable rating it higher. I had a lot of fun reading this one, and not only am I'm super hyped for the first book of this series, this story gave me a solid foundation for the couple's feelings towards one another that we'll need in bk 1. All of that together equals a successful prequel to me!

If you're a fan of Lily White or NA romance, this one's for you!

Holy heck! What an amazing beginning to this new series!

This story has undertones of, yes, treachery, so deeply woven into Tanner’s character that I could taste it through the author’s words. He is scary good at being intimidating and I might not have been able to connect with him except for having his point of view at times. Those moments didn’t share any true secrets, that I could tell, but they reveal the layers that make up the man. I stand in awe at how Ms. White can create an antihero that, on the surface, has no redeeming qualities and yet they steal my heart every time. Even when in Tanner’s point of view, he’s not warm and cuddly, caring or kind. And that’s what makes this magic.

’Tanner Caine is just one of the deceptive and tantalizing demons waiting to be summoned at the crossroads. He is an underground giant forged in fire and stamped with the Devil’s personal seal of approval. He is a man barely challenged and a barrier never crossed. He is also a specimen of the male form that is a siren song to the unlucky women who run across him.’

The dynamic between Luca and Tanner is that of bully and bullied. However, Luca doesn’t yield to his heavy manipulations. She’s not a whiny college girl caught up in something she’s too weak to deal with. Instead, she’s fierce and defiant, and without realizing it, she challenges Tanner all along the way. I loved her uniqueness as a heroine because like this hero, she is far from one dimensional.

Despite this being a prequel, this was rich with layer after layer of actions and reactions that I fear, yes fear, this is Lily White afterall, will wreak havoc on Luca in the years to come. Repercussions are a done deal when one gets involved with Tanner Caine and I suspect the next book is going to take her, and us, on one wild ride.

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Novella (Book 0.5) from Antihero Inferno series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Luca Bailey was a regular student who maintained good grades and kept to herself than being a center of attention. That was until she got thrust into Tanner Caine’s world, who had every intention to make her life miserable.

I liked Tanner and I’m hoping he stays true to himself in his upcoming book. I’m glad Luca has defiance in her blood rather than simply being a “victim”.

I remembered from my comparative religion classes in undergrad that Satan was believed to present himself as the most beautiful man in existence. I had no doubt that was true. Tanner fit the bill perfectly.

I enjoyed the story overall and intrigued by some of the other characters. However, I felt like there were too many things brought up but not answered. I know this is meant as Treachery prequel but considering it’s the first book in the series, it needed more anchor to establish the Inferno as a group.

Treachery Prequel is an introduction to Tanner, Luca, and their world. I’m looking forward to the first full book in the series coming May 2020.

It's the beginning of the series and it's already amazing. I'm still at awe by how the story went fast with edgy scenes. I wish I was the authors best friend now. Treachery Prequel features the story of Tanner Caine, a senior at Yale and one of guys of The Nine. They are the rich guys with full of danger and hotness. Tanner has a secret agenda (treachery) against Luca.

Luca Bailey, is a second year student at Yale who would like to get through college with good grades. She is career driven and has exception on avoiding socialising. Everything changes when she is reluctantly taken to a party by her bestfriend/roommate, there she manages to catch the attention of the The Nine - nine irresistible manipulators also know as the Inferno boys. Tanner, one of the nine boys is especially hell bent on trapping and hurting Luca. Luca on the other hand was not so easy to manage, she gives good as she gets. The two of them together are explosive crossfire. There is a mystery among both the characters which is still not developed. The story is crafted to peak only on the secondary plot, what's going on we have yet to find out. Tanner has no redeeming qualities (yet) and Luca has no intention to letting him make her miserable. Both are attracted to each other but what's the anchor holding them apart, we have yet to see.

I am already invested into this series. With a devious personality each of the Inferno boys have I can't wait to see where Lily White takes us.

Note: Treacher Prequel is added in Treachery.

I really, REALLY enjoyed this prequel, this taster of what is to come from Tanner, Luca and the rest of the Inferno boys.

This started life feeling like *sigh* one of those over-done, over-the-top, so-over-them, bully romances. And a NA one to boot. I almost put this down in annoyance and frustration but then.... well we get into Tanner's head. Now I'm not saying he was some sweet, kind, warm and generous guy, because he isn't. Tanner is an ass. A top-of-the-range, grade-A, stab-him-in-the-eye alpha-hole of the first order. Every single time I started having kind thoughts towards him (or at least less dark thoughts) he did or said or thought something that made me immediately need to throat punch him. Repeatedly. But I did kind of get him. Yep he's a selfish, self-serving, greedy, avaricious piece of &%$* but he does have reasons, almost.

Luca isn't a walk over, so I'm pleased that she had backbone. She IS a little to easily led my her vajayjay at times, but she does mainly stick to her guns and plans. Though the plan to get wasted seemed a touch STUPID!!!! However the folly of youth and all that jazz.

So in summary this book was so good that I read it in one sitting (or laying since it was the wee hours of the morning when I finished it) Also - WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK OUT because I if it isn't soon I'm gonna be going loopy whilst I wait because I need to know "what's occurin'" as Nessa would say.

Gah! I have been so excited for Treachery since Lily White announced it and could not jump on its prequel story fast enough. Tanner is legit #BullyHeroGoals. I loveeeed his connection with Luca and the secrets and mindgames between them. Their sexual tension was off the charts hot but their games of oneuppsmanship took the cake.

Without giving away any spoilers, this prequel shows us how Luca Bailey and Tanner Caine met and her acrimonious relationship with him aka Treachery, one of the dark and deadly Inferno men. We know that Tanner has a secret agenda when it comes to Luca and the steps he takes to get his way was equally devious and delicious. I enjoyed this story and seeing how Luca slowly began to affect Tanner and get in the way of his methodical plans. But now I can't wait for more!! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Wowza!! An eye opening stunner for sure by lily white!!
If this is the Prequel to all the evils to come, I better start my Hail Mary's soon.
"nine men who lived in the Inferno house. All of them were bad news, each one a known Man whore"
This introduces us to the Nine Sinners. They might as well be Deadly Sins personified, or the Circles Of Hell

description

Bawdy, devilishly divine, sinister...they are ridiculously tempting and Godly in demeanor.
In the center sits Tanner Caine, the MASTER of Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress
His evil eyes have Luca Bailey in his crosshairs. She's trapped like a deer caught in headlights. Stunned frozen, unable to save herself, she's going to be run over and be a Roadkill soon!
Why..
Where...
When...
Read the story to find out

Lily has delivered a chill up my spine, a tingling scent of the colder, deadlier times to come.
I'm intrigued by ALL the characters
"Nine ruthless men. Nine unrepentant sinners. Nine irresistible manipulators that would do you a favor if you promised to pay the price."
Ooooooh lily you got me all Moist!!
So excited to see lily on a writing warpath..she's killing it!!

Luca Bailey is a second-year law student with strong determination and a no-nonsense attitude. Though she’s been one to avoid a big social scene, Luca is thrust into the one place where privilege rules. Knowing she shouldn’t play the game, certain circumstances arise to even greater consequences and Tanner Caine is ready to maximize his return.

“Who knew a girl of such a high caliber could drop down and roll in the muck with the rest of us?”

Told in dual POV, character motivations are revealed showing insight into their decisions. Luca seems more transparent with her needs, but Tanner is much more of an enigma. Being a prequel, the storyline begins to set the stage for the infamous Inferno group, but much more is bubbling under the surface.

“Just remember not to start games you can’t finish. I’m the type of guy who will keep playing them until you beg me to stop.”

The notion of a wealthy and unscrupulous ruling class is an intriguing one and this prequel raises questions as to what the pieces may be and how they all intersect. However, I would have liked more regarding Tanner’s background and the Inferno. Though there was a lively push/pull between Tanner and Luca, their connection felt superficial at this stage. Luckily, their story continues and I am very hopeful that all will come together.

Treachery is a prequel that promises deceit and avarice to further a mysterious agenda. This book would appeal to those who enjoy romance suspense.

I have a new book boyfriend. Tanner Caine has taken hold of me and I can't seem to let him go. He is the ultimate bully, jackass, you'll ever encounter. But as he is cruel, he is sexy, smart and tempting as all hell. The dictionary definition of treachery.

Luca Bailey, a second year student at Yale with a pristine GPA suddenly finds herself in the world of the Inferno boys, namely Tanner Caine.

Tanner Caine, senior at Yale, is just one of the deceptive and tantalizing demons waiting to be summoned at the crossroads. He is an underground giant forged in fire and stamped with the Devil’s personal seal of approval.
Tanner is the linchpin of the Inferno circuit, nine guys who practically ran the school, and could make or break your social life at Yale.

But Luca is the exception, she is not interested but the nine circle Inferno boys definitely are. They have Luca on their radar and Tanner needs her to be in depth to him.
While the heat rises between Luca & Tanner, the pressure to get her under his thumb is also rising.

This was an amazing start to the series and I curious to see where this is going, especially to see how the loose end will be tied up.

Tanner has been smelted using the purest of rare metals and then forged in the flames of Hell.

I AM TOTALLY HOOKED! I need MORE! The Inferno Boys may just be too hot to handle, but I am ready to get burned!!!

Luca is a studious girl just working toward her law degree at Yale. She's really just a homebody that wants to focus on her future. Her best friend, Everly, wants her to get out there and have some fun. One night at the Inferno House is going to change everything.

Tanner Caine is the elusive bad boy. He is broody and cruel. He's just one of the nine Inferno Boys born to wealth and privilege. They run the school. If you want something, they'll give it to you...but it will cost you. Tanner is a bully and he's coming for Luca. This sexy alpahole is not holding back.

Luca may have been quiet, but the girl has a backbone and she wasn't easily led or persuaded. She is not going to make anything easy for Tanner. She just wanted to be left alone. He wasn't going to allow that. He'll do what needs to be done to get close and get what he wants.

This is just a taste of what is to come. An introduction to their world that will whet the appetite and leave you hungry for more. BRING IT ON!

"Tanner Caine is just one of the deceptive and tantalizing demons waiting to be summoned at the crossroads."

DAMNIT!! I cannot wait for next part, a simply treacherous wait. I'm a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers romance. This one amped me up. A group of dangerous delicious boys, this is a prequel to Tanner Caine's story. And Luca gives him a chase. I gotta have a semi-strong female with banter going on. Luca held her own. This was just the beginning and I can't wait to see the real battle in the next book. There's also monsters controlling the devils, so to speak, and little mystery and steam to hold you over!

Treachery Prequel is the introduction to a brand new series by Lily White. The Antihero Inferno Series.

I find novellas sometimes really hard to rate but with this one that wasn’t the case. This novella is without a doubt five stars. From the moment I started this novella I was absolutely consumed and just couldn’t not stop reading this book. I was absolutely living for the characters that we are introduced to and as well as the story that I could see developing for Tanner and Luca.

In this book we are Introduced to nine dangerous men, unrepentant sinners that you will hate to love. These nine men are known for their nicknames and how they have come to earn those nicknames is something I certainly cannot wait to find out. We have Treachery, Fraud, Violence, Heresy, Anger, Greed, Gluttony, Lust and Limbo.

This is the start of Tanner’s and Luca’s story.

He is a temptation with cold, dark eyes.
A man with a seductive smirk and a body built for pure sin.
The linchpin of a group of wealthy bad boys known as the Inferno.

A dark presence that repels as much as he attracts, Tanner is the poisoned apple I want to bite even when I know it will destroy me.

Our story started in college, but I ran from him so far I believed I was safe.
I should have known he’d find me eventually.
I should have known that nobody escapes.

Tanner sets eyes on her at one of the famous inferno parties. When they meet again at the gauntlet party, this is where a connection was developed with a penetrating gaze. At first glance you would think tanner was looking at you in the eyes of hatred. As the story progresses you soon realise that he is the hunter seeking out his prey.

After that party she vows to stay away from him but that’s easier said then done. They have this force that keeps pushing them together.

And this is when the games really begin.

I am completely obsessed with this author and I certainly can’t wait for the books to come in this series. You should definitely check this author out as well because she has become one of my favourites.

***4 Stars***

I pretty much make grabby hands at anything this author puts out into the world and this one was no different, even knowing that this was just a back history of sorts to the characters and the series in general. And I have to say my interest was peaked before I got to the actual first page of the book. That little bit totally got me excited for what is to come with this series. As for the characters. Imma be really, REALLY vague here, but for the most part I’m all in with them. I want to know more about their backstories and all that goes on in their heads and spend time with all of them. BUT there is one that...well...I’m just not impressed by. I hate to say it, I do, but basically my eyes are sore from all the rolling they did because of one particular character’s choices...is the character redeemable? Yes, everyone is, but it’s going to take a lot...which actually makes me want to dive into the series even more to see if my mind can be changed.

Tanner is the classic bad boy with his perfect face and cruel stare that make you want to drop your panties when he looks at you across the room. Luca tries to stay away from him, but Tanner has ulterior motives that have to do with the Inferno, the rich kid fraternity-like group he’s grown up with.

There is so much going on yet told in a way that is never confusing. With manipulatve, controlling fathers of the 9 Inferno members, “hunts” to race down debtors in the dead of the night, and wild parties with lavish costumes, drugs and sex, there’s never a dull moment while reading this book! And then there is Tanner… He seriously might be the sexiest antihero I’ve read about in years! I can’t wait to find out what happens in book #1!!

INCINERATED BY THE INFERNO BOYS

“Just know there may be repercussions for playing our dirty, dirty games”
-- oh yes, there are and I lapped them all up like a smitten kitten with a bowl of cream. “We’re all just pawns to be played in Tanner’s world.”

Tanner’s hypnotic … this book’s hypnotic .. and I never want to wake up from this decadently delicious mindfuck. The manipulative games of control by the Inferno Boys incinerated me with no desire to douse the flames.
Like any good groupie, I say bring it on. These sex-on-a-stick hotties are an even hotter bag of dicks … and I LOVE THEM FOR IT!!!!!!! So saddle on up and enjoy the Treachery prequel to the new Antihero Inferno Series.

It all starts in college and what a juicy start it is -- a “nemesis bully-and-his prey” war of wills that works some ruthlessly devious magic around a “favor for a favor” premise before it spins out of control. Yet again something new and enticingly different from mistress Lily. The Inferno Boys – the 9 Circles of Hell -- are 9 rich and entitled men living together on campus, but don’t get in their cross-hairs because no one survives their games of control … and there’s no line they won’t cross.

Tanner Caine aka Treachery is the biggest BMOC. He’s got the world by a string as the biggest trickster of them all, before setting his sights on unsuspecting bookworm/law student Luca Bailey. He’s the shark and she’s just the sharkbait, right? The spider and the fly, the lion and the gazelle, the predator and prey – watch out Luca because Tanner is coming for you and you don’t even know why! It’s more intricate than you know.

It was mesmerizing how these guys basically lead Luca to the slaughter and she never sees it coming, while she mistakes her own moves for manipulating THEM. But who is gaming whom? She’s up against master manipulators, but nothing goes according to plan and what shakes out is two people who didn’t want to want each other become collateral damage.

Luca finds out what it means to get burned by an inferno. Tanner possesses, claims, dominates, but she’s still a worthy opponent that intrigues him. When she meets him, her lizard brain takes over and clouds judgment, giving him the power to disarm her. A couple chapters in his POV enlighten us about his thoughts and motives (my lips are sealed). There’s also up-close-and-personal with Tanner’s charming bestie Gabriel aka Fraud the liar and unapologetic manwhore and some of the other guys.

INSTANT REPLAY: “… him.” (the last word of the cliffy).
Me: WTF? Lily, you can’t stop there! Treachery doesn’t come out until May with roadblocks, sidewinders, and u-turns surely to come and fuck with my head.

YOU MUST READ THIS SERIES!

Treachery by Lily White is the Prequel book 0.5 in the Antihero Inferno Series. This starts the story of Luca Bailey and Tanner Caines 'Treachery'. Luca is a second year law student at Yale and has made sure to keep out of the social scene so her focus is on school. But when she weakens to her friend to attend a party she ends up catching the eye of Tanner. Tanner has no feelings other than what seems to be playing with people in dark ways. No one ever stands up to him or tells him no. So when Luca catches his eye he feels like he wants to hurt her and more so when she does stands up to him.
Gosh this book teases me with what I think is going to be a great series.

Treachery is a prequel to start the Antihero Inferno series. This prequel is one of the best introductions to a series I have read in a long time it served it's purpose perfectly by sucking me in and leaving me wanting more as soon as possible!

Luca is the heroine a perfect student wanting to keep her head down and get through college and out in the world career driven and independent. When she lets her hair down she finds herself catching the eye of The Nine in particular Tanner AKA Treachery. A group of guys at her college that are notorious for running things their own way, full of danger and sin, they are men Luca wants to keep far away from. No matter how hard she tried though, she keeps finding herself front and centre of their attention and finds herself wanting to be there.

Lily gives you a good taste of The Nine through Tanner and Luca's story. There is undeniable heat, a mystery I want more from and well developed characters that I am undeniably drawn to. Lily crafted the prequel well, keeping the pace high, with a well balanced plot that didn't feel empty, rushed or undeveloped at all, which is a problem I find with a lot of prequels. Then the ending gives you a sneak peak into what is to come in the full length novel in May, Tanner and Luca several years later finally cross paths again and it seems the games are still in play.

I just loved the prequel for Treachery. It gives us an introduction to Tanner ‘Treachery’ Caine and his band of not so merry men of Inferno.

Tanner and Luca’s back sorry is sensational and meeting some of the future bad boys, Gabriel, of Inferno had me purring.
I loved Luca and just how she handled every situation. That girl has balls. Love her.

Lily White gave me a taste, just a little lick of these devious boys and now I want to devour them.

Bring on Treachery and the damage that he is going to inflict.

Luca is attending college at Yale when she meets Tanner. Tanner is the leader of the Inferno set, a wild hedonistic group of guys that do what, when and who they want because of money. Luca is a shy bookish girl just trying to get through law school. The two can't stand each other but the attraction is oh so HOT and steamy with them. A great prequel that sets up the feelings and past between this couple.
