A lot of Cade's history and the links to his dead wife are revealed here. We've seen her as a spectral figure who helps him from time to time or drops off clues. Now we find more of her predicament and what the entity from the first book did to her. Cade has new challenges to face as he tries to help her.

An action thriller about a group of elite soldiers who fight supernatural threats. They discover a portal into our world from an alternate world and find monstrous creatures mounting for an attack. As the story opens, the protagonist, one of the commanders of the soldiers, discovers his wife whom he lost several years before may not be dead as he thought. The issue does prove important to the ending, but seemed a little strange it didn't weigh on him more in the middle part of the book. We also get a cliffhanger ending.

A Tear in the Sky (The Templar Chronicles #3), I very much enjoyed my third read from author Joseph Nassise. I'd read The Heretic back in February of 2017 and recently was given an Audible copy of A Tear in the Sky (book 3), since it was so long since I'd read The Heretic it was worth re-reading so I bought the audio box set. Well-written, fast-paced and entertaining. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Jarret Lemaster. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A Tear in the Sky was awesome! I’m pretty sure I read most of it in one sitting. From start to finish it was a thrill ride. I couldn’t put it down.
Cade and the rest of Echo command head out to deal with some evil, finding themselves with an even bigger problem. We get more of Cade’s quest for vengeance and more of his wife. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and even after reading it I still don’t think I’m prepared for it.
A Tear in the Sky was a great third book in the series. I can’t wait to start book four.

Another adventure in the Beyond
The characters are growing, the action is non-stop and the world the author is creating is fascinating. I'm as hooked on the series as Cade is about finding his maybe dead wife Gabrielle. I'm kinda sad about the loss of one character (no spoilers) but that happens in life, and in my own books as well. I'll bet this author and I could have some interesting conversations. Onto the next book.....

Cade and Riley literally take the fight to hell in their quest to rescue Duncan and defeat his captors. This episode in the Templar Chronicles is not only action packed, it is filled with a variety of plot twists that keep the reader/listener on their toes. Jarret Lemaster’s narration and variety fo voices for the characters make for an excellent listening experience.

The story just didn’t come together for me. Compared to the previous stories in this series, there seemed to be more telling instead of showing. Supporting characters seemed to take on a red shirt quality (from the original Star Trek) so their deaths didn’t really matter. And the ending was as expected.

The first two books were good. This one, without giving spoilers, I must say is disappointing. Cade has been very logical and at the end of the book we just throw that all away. I'm not even sure I can start the next book I was so disappointed with the absolute divergence from his normal character.

I can't stop reading this series. The e are so well developed, the plots so complicated. I can't imagine being in this off mind. A really good read.

Another brisk and exciting entry in the Templar Chronicles series. Nassise really enjoys putting his characters through the wringer. And I mean that in a good way.

It's been a few years since I read the last installment, and this one gave me such a different impression from the other two. It feels like it was written by someone else. Now, it could be that memory is hazy. But it would be hard to understand why I would be onto the third book if I felt this way about the previous ones.
I remember the first two being more vivid and tense and better plotted. A Tear in the Sky felt very simply narrated, a series of events that just kind of happen. Even though the plot doesn't jump around -- it's a pretty straightforward affair -- I felt like it skipped over a lot.
For instance, there's a hostage situation that drives the action for much of the book. It's set up as a window into the motivations of the bad guys. But nope, captor and hostage pop up a few times as goalposts, and then there they are at the end. We have no idea what they've been doing, pretty much.
Also, so many hanging threads!
Oh well, hope I like the next one better.

it's a different series, Christian, but you don't have to follow the faith to enjoy it. Sort of like Dan Brown in that respect. The series has one or two continuity problems that an editor SHOULD have caught (make a point of the hero taking off his shirt before a fight, then have the bad guy's whip tear off part of his shirt.... for ex) but all in all a most readable series. I'll pick up the rest of them.
The basics are that the Vatican reactivated the Templar during or just post WWII to combat preternatural evil. The hero of the piece is the CO of Echo company (think Templar SWAT) The mill speak is well done, the details are right... da boy done good.

I love this series. Sometimes it's "out there" and that's OK. It has a lot of supernatural characters and events, always being fought by the Templar Knights. Good & evil, black & white. This time Cade is told that his wife isn't dead, even though he buried her 7 years ago. So that is part of the story. Another part is a portal to the Beyond beneath a church that the bad guys want to use. Tie is all together for a good story.

As urban fantasy - it's great. I read Booms 1 and 2 and continued with this Book 3.
Easy reading. Nothing serious. Loads of weapon description. A bit of a snigger rose up when it came to the references to Chiang Shih - which are Chinese vampires/reanimated corpses. The description don't fit with my notions of these creatures I had from young. But hey - it's fun.. Suspend disbelief and just go with the flow. Not sure if I would go on with a book 4 though.

Good story to the continuing saga of the Knights Templar
This is the third installment in the Templar Chronicles by Joe Nassise.
As with the first 2 books, a lot of action, this one finally including a face to face confrontation between Cade Williams and the adversary.
While not especially scary, these stories are pretty good on originality. Looking forward to the next book.

Cade and some of the echo team cross to the beyond and encounter intense moments. They encounter an old templar and things get pretty intense. They need to close the portal before the creatures in the beyond cross into the real world. Some will be lost but they have to continue to keep the world safe. Very intense and great book.

Great book....almost as good as the other two in the series but in the end we get a feeling like "so you really want to torture your readers waiting for the next book?"....

Another great entry in the Templar Chronicles series. An action packed read with lots of blood, guts and monster slaying (you know, the good stuff). This is a great book and I can't wait until the next installment.

Maybe I've just read too many of these books in the last few months. I found it to be repetitive and I hated the cliff hanger at the end of the novel. I am not in the mood to read more of this book!

This one wasn't as good as the first two. Had less editing work done to it, and in some places it really could've used the extra attention. Still a good story though.

Another great one. By the time I was finished with Tear in the Sky I was glad that I had Infernal Games waiting to be opened.

Book was good. End with a cliff hanger. I hate that. The series is good though and a swift read.

The first two were better, this one also had a lot of editing mistakes in the copy I had which sometimes distracted
