Bought by the Alien Breeder

Rate this book
A regular human. A regular alien. Perhaps they can be more together.

Amber Price is a mortician, a depressing enough job, especially after the war between humans and aliens. She never expected to be picked by the lottery to be matched to an alien breeder.

Damonik the alien is one of the few aliens to journey to Earth. The moment he sees Amber from a distance, he is drawn to her. He orchestrates things to be partnered with her, but will they ever be able to connect and work through their differences once she learns the truth, that he bought her?

Review in English: Bought by the Alien Breeder – Ashlyn Hawkes
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars)

This book left me torn. I give it 3 stars, but it could easily be 2.5 or 3.5—there’s no in-between. The story had potential, but the protagonist nearly ruined it for me. Let’s be real: in this post-apocalyptic world, you either adapt or die. But Amber? She wanted to be special, to stand out, and that frustrated me. Having doubts is one thing, but criticizing other women for making different choices and constantly complaining without doing anything about it? That’s another.

The last few chapters were unbearable. She complained about being bought, but at the same time, she looked down on those who weren’t bought and had a much worse experience. Her logic made no sense, and her attitude was irritating. Honestly, I had to take a four-month break from this series because I just couldn’t stand her.

On the other hand, Dominic, the male protagonist, was the best part of the book. His backstory, his struggles, and the way he handled his emotions were well-written. Unlike Amber, he took responsibility for his past and didn’t project his issues onto her. He was the reason I finished the book.

As for the plot, the premise is interesting. Amber is stuck in a miserable job at a funeral home when Dominic, an alien visiting Earth, sees her and feels an instant connection. Later, he discovers she has been selected in a lottery to be sent to his planet, and he decides to buy her—but he doesn’t tell her until the very end.

If you’re going to read this book, do it quickly. Read it, move on, and don’t dwell too much on Amber, or you might lose interest in the series. That said, it does have some redeeming qualities, particularly regarding Dominic’s character and the ongoing mystery about how human women can reproduce with aliens.

Final note: if you’re reading this type of book, do it without morals. It’s a fictional story. Don’t compare it to reality or try to apply real-world logic to it. In this world, Earth is gone, human rights don’t exist, and survival has a price. If you approach it with this mindset, you’ll enjoy it much more.

Meh

Really disliked thenfemale character. She was sort of unrealistic for her situation and kinda bitchy. Not sure if she was worthy of the male who bought her.

REVIEW
Book three in this fascinating alien romance series.
The Novans are learning more of the human ways. Especially how to treat women.
Although it won't come off that way to Amber once she knows what her Novan did.
Damonik doesn't know what overcame him when he first laid eyes on her but he knew above all else she was his, would be his.
Can Amber forgive him when she learns his secret?
Well hold on for another fantastic read with this story.
I enjoyed this one. The story was very well written.

Great Book but....

Definitely needs a good proofreading. Lots of typos, wrong tenses, things that contradict. This is a great book with strong characters and storyline but being repeatedly jolted out by the errors makes it hard to want to read.
