Let the music carry you away in this brand-new series featuring the King family and their country music dynasty

Music is all he has...but is it enough to heal them both?

Jace Black went from an oilfield roughneck to an overnight singing sensation. Now he's working on a duet with country music legend Krystal King, and he's determined to earn his way to the top. But the more time he spends with Krystal, the more he finds himself falling for her--and he's beginning to be more interested in her than he is in making a name for himself.

Krystal King grew up on stage and in the spotlight. No matter how golden her life appears, her past left deep wounds. But Jace Black makes her wish things were different. To do that, she'd have to risk letting him in... And that might be too big a risk for her battered heart to take.

Jace by Sasha Summers
1st book in the Kings of Country series. Contemporary romance.
Childhood sexual abuse revealed and exposed.

Krystal King and her family tour on the country music scene. Jace Black, having won a signing contest, joins the family and is awarded Krystal’s newest written song. She’s not thrilled to have to share her music but the two have immediate sparks soon their duet is a hit with fans. Their powerful connection also brings out the gossips and controversy.

A powerful romance. A positive resolution of past and hidden abuse. A little disappointed on a couple of decisions that Krystal makes while under pressure but loved that Jace was steady and reliable. Wonderful romantic ending and the future of Kings books to come is exciting.

Jace
By: Sasha Summers

*REVIEW* ☆☆☆.5
Well, I will begin by saying Jace is a well written insightful story full of unexpected emotional issues . These issues are extremely relevant and timely, but they are also heavy and leaning toward sensitivity overload for some. I like the story for its strength and grounded ideals, and the characters are likeable, sympathetic and authentic. There are many positive aspects. My only bother is the issues addressed because they bothered me a bit. Overall, I would still recommend this story.

Krystal King was born into country royalty. Jace was born into a hard working grassroots family. When Jace wins a reality singing competition everything changes! He goes from working two jobs and fighting to pay bills to stardom. His win also opens doors to the King family. He is asked to do a duet with Emmy Lou King from the famous siblings group Three Kings. Yes...if you have read the first line I said Krystal King not Emmy lou...let me explain. Krystal and Emmy are twins...and well Krystal is considered the troublemaker of the group Three Kings. She should clearly not be doing a duet with a good ole county boy like Jace...she will sully his image in the business. So Emmy lou it is….but the song in question is Krystals baby. She wrote it...poured her anger, sadness, and soul into this song and dammit she wants to sing it! Krystal comes to the studio the first day of rehearsals (at her dads request) to give pointers to Emmy and Jace, but Emmy suddenly is not feeling well and needs Krystal to step in. The moment Jace and Krystal set eyes on each other...the sparks fly...and well when they start singing it’s combustible! This is clearly their song!

My thoughts:
I loved the start of what is certain to be a strong series! I really enjoyed the setting of the country music stage! The characters are all likeable in their own way...even Travis (lol) the twins brother and the third sibling in Three kings. I can’t wait to read his story. It’s clear Sasha Summers can write sexy banter…. I mean those twos chart topping chemistry...wow (get it...lol...their musicians)!!
My only complaint is I did think the book dragged on a little long.

I recommend that you tune in (couldn’t resist the pun) to this new number one single!

Wow! This book reached me on so many levels. I was pulled in by the female lead having the same first name as me - spelled incorrectly (haha) but on the audio version I could ignore that. The King Family was adorable if you ignore one heinous b*!@$, which I prefer to do. Jace, or Gentleman Jace, is one of the sweetest, most true to himself character ever. Krystal needed Jace and I was reading just to get to that moment where she realizes it.

The backstory of Krystal contains a sensitive but very relevant topic and is an undertone the entire book. When it came to the forefront, I had a few teary-eyed moments. The author did the story justice and tugged on my heartstrings. I love when an author writes a story that reaches me so thoroughly.

I have yet to be disappointed by anything written by Sasha Summers and must read more!!!

***4.5 Stars***

Jace was not at all what I expected... It was so much more! Sasha Summers knows her way around writing a compelling and quite addicting romance. I was hooked from start to finish.

Jace is the first novel in the Kings Of Country Series written by Sasha Summers. Now I’m a huge fan of country music! From the traditional artists to the new age musicians, I love them all. So when I first read the blurb for Jace (Kings Of Country book one) I had to check my excitement at the door, or be labeled a crazy fool for the rest of my life.

I had every right to be excited!! Sasha Summers hooked me from start to finish. I couldn’t put this book down! I was honestly shocked by how much I really did love this story. Because I’m a fan of country music, I tend to be a tad bit picky when it comes to novels written around this certain genre/trope. I find myself scrunching up my nose often and rolling my eyes, but with Jace, there was absolutely no nose scrunching going on….thank the good lord for that.

Now onto a little bit about what this novel is about…. Without spoiling you all.

Jace Black is a new big name in country music thanks to winning his season of Next Top American Voice. Still reeling from his win, he receives the shock of a lifetime when he gets his hands on a song written by one of the hottest country music singer/songwriters Krystal King.

Krystal King has finally written a song that was made solely for herself to sing. Now comes the difficult part of trying to talk her daddy, country music idol Hank King, into letting her sing her own song. But everything isn't all rainbows and unicorns, you see Krystal is in a musical trio with her twin sister and her brother, and after years of getting tossed out of the spotlight she finally sees this song as her opportunity to shine.

I absolutely LOVED Jace Black and his good boy vibes! This southern boy brings the charm and the swoon. My heart was invested in his character from the get go. I loved the fact that this man was Krystal’s rock. He was her confidant and no matter how much she tried to push him away, he stayed right by her side. He was a true man’s man.

Krystal showed a greater strength that is unlike anyone else's. This woman had one of the worst things a teenager can have happen to them….and the hardest part to digest is the fact that the people who were supposed to protect her and believe her above all others, swept her issues under the rug. So this teenager grew up into a woman who held her shield with an iron grasp. I can’t even begin to explain how much hate I had for Krystal’s mother. She was such a bitch….. I’d actually like to see what happens to this woman…

I’m beyond excited to continue this series! I need more of these characters in my life. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I did not want to put this book down. Jace wins a reality show contest. Krystal is already a star from a music family. Both have issues from their pasts that they are still dealing with. Jace and Krystal end up singing a duet together. As they spend more time together, they have trouble resisting the attraction that is growing between them.

I loved the closeness that Krystal and Jace have with their siblings. They all support each other.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

My Rating: 4.5 Stars

From the oilfield to the country stage. Jace Black got signed on with the famous King family and is about to do a duet with Krystal King. He has very high ambitions, and falling for Krystal is the furthest thing from his plan.

Krystal and her family are icons in the world of country music. Although a very good singer, her gift is writing songs. When circumstances give her the opportunity to sing it with sexy newcomer Jace, Krystal is nervous. That nervousness is quickly traded by bone deep attraction.

As Jace and Krystal try to get to know one another - while the tabloids are having their day - they both have painful pasts that might keep them from finding a long future together. Jace is an excellent book. I loved the occasional lyrics that were part of the story, and how they told much about the pain Krystal was actually in. Seems rather evident that these very lyrics are telling Jace's story as well.

Jace is the first book in the Kings of Country series. It is done very well, and the Jace and Krystal's story was very emotional. Honestly, I just thought I was going to be reading another romance and was not prepared for the impact this book had. I must say that I was very surprised, especially considering the book touched on some very serious and relevant issues Lastly, I loved all of the characters in the book, especially Emmy Lou and Travis, Krystal's twin sister and their brother. I look forward to future books in this series and can't wait to see whose story is next.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Every once in awhile a book character hits you in your soul & you find yourself so invested you can’t stop reading - meet Krystal King. The ppl that were meant to protect her, didn’t, & she was a victim that REFUSED to let her past define her. I loved this character. My life was changed by her strength.

Through many tears, I cheered for her to find her happily every after & I loved it was with a genuine good southern boy like Jace.

Sasha Summers knocked it out of the park with this story. It was a beautiful tale of hope, courage, & love - I cannot wait for book 2 in this series.

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 4
Story – 5

Heartbreaking in places but also very romantic.

As far as I know, Jace is the first book I’ve listened to performed by Robin Verne and I think she did a good job. I’m pretty picky about female narrators who have to do a lot of male voices in a book so while I would have preferred a male voice at times, I still enjoyed listening to this book over-all.

Jace is the first book in a series and I liked it enough to want to listen to more of the books. My heart broke for Krystal. It was quite a way into the book before we find out for sure what happened to her but there were major hints along the way so it wasn’t a big surprise when all was revealed.

Jace was a warm and caring person and I pretty much loved everything about him. You could tell how much he cared for Krystal.

So far, I see that there are two more books in this series, both of them about Krystal’s other siblings. I won’t give anything away but I sure hope there is at least one more book to come because I really want to know Sawyer’s story.

Jace is written by Sasha Summers. I loved this book so much that I couldn't stop reading it. The story is about Krystal King  who comes from a family of musicians. She is in a band with her brother  Travis and her  sister Emmy.  Krystal is the main charters for the book in the King of Country Series and the other main character is  Jace Black a young  expiring  musician  who won a reality show and who gets to perform with the band and also sing a  song with the band. Once Krystal and Jace met you just know their was a connection between them and as much as they both tried to deny their feeling for each other everyone could tell they were only fu fooling themselves.
I absolutly loved this book so that I just had to start the next book Song for a Cowboy right away. All I can say about this story is make to have some tissues.

WOW! What a wonderfully written tragic, emotional, impactful romantic story!
I just LOVED Krystal King and Jace Black, the lead characters in this fantastic book. Krystal is a wonderful, totally misunderstood woman. She puts out this bad attitude to the world that she is invincible to the outside world. However, in her own mind, and soul, she has been damaged to the very depths of her soul. Jace, he truly sees her for the phenomenal woman she really is. He just knows she is not the person everyone else sees. I LOVED watching Jace pull back the layers and really see Krystal.
ALL the characters are very well developed. The way that Ms. Summers builds them, you/I just either absolutely love them, or absolutely HATE them. Take Krystal’s mother, PLEASE take her away and just drop her off a cliff. I just wanted to throat punch the b, er witch more and more throughout the book. How could any mother do this?!?! Sorry Ladies, I cannot give anything away.
The author, Sasha Summer, is a new to me author whose writing that I have been introduced thru NetGalley. I was gifted with a copy of this book for my honest opinions of this book/story. Thank you NetGalley, I have definitely found a new author to love and follow!!
Thank you, Ms. Summers for sharing your writing talents with the world. You took a hard subject, brought it to life, and made it your, errr, witch! Kudos!
The ONLY thing I think the author/publisher could have done to make this book, not the story, better, is put links at the end of the book to national hotlines to groups to help victims of such abuse.
I cannot wait to read about the rest of Krystal’s and Jace’s siblings.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope I have helped you make the decision to hit that purchase button. I really think you will love this story as much as I have.

I’ve been on a Sasha Summers kick lately, and this first book in her Kings of Country Series didn’t disappoint. This series promises to be just as good as others she’s written.

Jace was a scrumptious hero with a capital S and a gentleman through and through, which was exactly what the heroine Krystal needed after what she’d been through—a gentle man. The sometimes dark subject matter was handled with sensitivity and well done, and the outcome from it was triumphant and satisfying.

I loved reading about the country music scene, too. It was like having a front-row seat to what it was like to be a country music star. And the lyrics of the songs and the scenes where Jace and Krystal were onstage—sigh. So romantic and breath-stealing.

The next book in the series is Brock, which is Emmy Lou’s story, and I can’t wait for it to come out. Summers is an excellent author whose writing is both heartwarming and poignant. Highly recommend!

Jace was a beautifully told love story! I originally put it off because I'm not a huge country music fan, but I wish I had picked it up sooner. Jace was such a likable character and I fell in love with him immediately. Crystal tried to come off as a rebel without a care, but you just knew she was someone with a tragic backstory trying to find her way in the world. Several parts in the book had be tearing up, which is the mark of a great book in my mind.
I listened to this book on audible and it was really well done. There were a few times where I thought time passed a little weirdly and one minute we were going to bed and the next we were having a deep discussion over breakfast, but I wonder if In the book it was more clear due to a break in the passage or something that a new day/time had started. Overall, fantastic story!

As a huge fan of country music, the cover of this book was an immediate draw for me. Also, as a fan of The Voice, the premise caught my attention as well. Not that I needed any more boxes ticked, but I’m also a sucker for a rich girl/poor boy love story.

Krystal King was a hard sell for me. Even though I really wanted to like her from the start, she’s indifferent and withdrawn at the beginning and, even knowing that there was some awful secret hiding in her past, it took some time to get past her attitude. Once Jace starts chipping away at her walls, she becomes so much more likable. Once her big secret is hinted at, however, you can totally understand why she’s thrown up all the walls that she has. By the end of the book, my entire opinion of her had changed.

Jace Black is my kind of guy, however. He comes from humble beginnings and has no family other than his sister. With Heather, he’s protective, but not to the point of being obnoxious about it, which is a good thing for both the reader and Heather. But more than that, he’s honest and he’s down to earth. They make a bit too much of a big deal about his ‘gentlemanly’ side because honestly, it’s just being a normal, respectful human being. Jace’s sister, Heather is great. She’s the perfect mix of fangirl, little sister, and side character. I’m hoping that she’s featured in one of the upcoming books because I’d love to see her with Travis (although I think Jace would object haha)!

As for the rest of the King family, they were quite a group. Emmy Lou is the sweetheart, good girl, but doesn’t come off as too plastic or artificial. Travis is… something, but I loved his obnoxious self. Hank, their father, isn’t fleshed out as well as Krystal’s siblings are, but overall I liked him. He made some questionable choices, but as a parent, I can almost understand why. CiCi, Krystal’s mother, on the other hand, was over-the-top awful. I’m hoping she becomes less of a caricature of herself during the next novel.

Although bits of Jace are predictable, I wasn’t expecting the confrontation that came. I do believe that the subject manner was handled well, however, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Now that I’m done with Jace and Krystal’s story, I’m eager to find out which King is the next to find their mate – Travis or Emmy Lou? I really hope it’s Travis, but I have a feeling that he’ll be the last to settle down.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the first in a new series, and by the time we get to the end, there is even a possible extra book being hinted at - which can only be good news. I enjoy rock band / musicians touring and all the crazy that goes along with this, so I was delighted to get to review this book. It was in fact even richer than I had expected and took some novel directions which set up future books very cleverly. All the world building was done with subtlety and style - and wow, I would love to go and give CiCi King a piece of my mind!

Krystal, Emma and Travis King, successful country band led by their father the even more famous Hank King are interesting in themselves. With issues within the family coming out throughout the book, Jace, the new to the industry reality show winner, is thrown in at the deep end. He does brilliantly I think, often keeping his temper when riled, and consistently being supportive to Krystal, even when he doesn't know the whole story. He is almost too good to be true, but as we learn about his past, and how swift his rise to fame has been, it is heartening to believe such people exist.

I thought the level of intrigue was well done. Both Krystal and Jace have suffered in the past; although very different issues, they have both been hurt by those who they should have been able to trust. Krystal's story is very troubling and it fits in well with the demands that are being justifiably being made in real life in the #MeToo movement. It was sad to think how true the story could have been.

I am very curious to see what happens next! Great start to a new series, thank you Sasha Summers.

I'm mad and it's all Sasha Summers' fault! It's been a long time since I hated a character as much as I hate Cici King, the mother of our main character Krystal. The power she has over the family boggles my mind. Krystal dealt with life as best she could, but the BS she had to wade through was astounding.

As for Krystal and Jace, I liked that Jace was steady and open about who he was. I liked that he stood up for her at every opportunity. He pushed just enough to show her he wasn't playing with her, but allowed her to set boundaries. He was sweet in a way that she didn't understand, which allowed her to stop and think before automatically rejecting him. I cheered when his opinion of certain people changed once secrets started coming out, because it was exactly how I felt too. I liked how Krystal and Jace bonded over the music and random everyday moments. It was fun to see them collaborate.

This book is a journey I'm glad I went on. It was a family story as much as it was a romance, and I'm looking forward to seeing the King family heal in future books.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the opportunity to read and review Jace, Kings of Country, Book 1 before publication. My opinions are my own and are not influence by the complimentary copy.

There’s plenty to love about this book. The characters are complex, and the plot is intriguing. Jace, Kings of Country, kept me engaged from the beginning to the end. It’s clear that Ms. Summers did loads of research concerning the music industry. I enjoyed the King family and look forward to the next book in her new series.

Krystal King’s character is feisty and has a wall as thick as Jericho. What happened to her as an innocent young girl had a lasting effect on her. While I admit to getting frustrated with hot and cold attitude with our amazing hero.

Jace Black is a fantastic hero. His patience with Krystal is astonishing. Most men would have given up on Krystal, but he sees the true Krystal underneath her prickly persona. He too has baggage, but he refuses to allow it to influence his choices. He’s such an honorable man.

The romance between Krystal and Jace is very up and down with Krystal giving into the overwhelming sexual pull, then turning almost instantly into a shrew (B***H). That irritated me hence the 4.25 Gold Crown rating.

If you enjoy lots of high emotion, hot sex and want an introduction to the amazing King family, then you will love Jace, Kings of Country. I plan to read the next book in this series when it’s released. Happy reading!

I loved this delightful tale of a singer born into country royalty and a country boy just starting out. The book is named for the hero but it is the heroines story that will drag you in and make you listen. I loved Jace and his gentlemanly ways. I ached for Krystal for what she’d gone through and would go through. I loved that Jace was there for her and fought for her. This book will take you on an emotional ride worthy of a country song.

I absolutely love most things this author writes. Her works are an automatic addition to my TBR. Or at least they were until this book. I had to take a break. I was sooooooo upset after reading this book that someone had to remind me that it was fiction. The author is getting a 5 start review from me just for being THAT convincing.

Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Jace (Kings of Country, #1) by Sasha Summers is a perfect rockstar romance. Okay it is really about country music stars but you get what I mean. Jace contains all the elements I want from a music star romance:

-sexy hero
-sexy heroine
-likable cast of secondary characters
-supportive family
i-nsight into the music making process
-backstage shenanigans
-a good solid story to tie all of the above elements together and have you begging for the secondary characters to have stories too!

Sasha Summers combines all of these elements together to create a book that I did not want to put down.

I loved the two main characters. Jace Black is the newbie to the rockstar lifestyle and it is fun watching him enter the life with huge eyes full of wonder. Krystal King is part of the band, The Three Kings, comprised of her, her brother, and her twin sister. She is a seasoned professional who has been in the business since she was a child. As the story builds, we learn more about Jace and Krystal’s backstories and how their past shapes the people they are today.

TRIGGER WARNING: I do feel it is important to note that child molestation plays into one of the subplots of the story. While it isn’t graphic, it definitely plays an important part in the plot.

If I had to rate the steam factor of this romance I’d give it a 3 out 5. There is definitely some hanky panky going on but it doesn’t take over the story and isn’t the primary plot line of the story.

This novel will appeal to readers who love rockstar romances. It would also appeal to people who love reality TV or country music. If you like your romances to fade into black, this probably isn’t the romance for you.

This was such a realistic story. The author obviously has some first-hand insight into the ruthless cutthroat world of the music business. Krystal King has grown up on the stage and in the spotlight, with a father who was a country music giant. She, her sister, and her brother make up The Three Kings and produce hit after hit. But Krystal is broken inside, while outwardly, she's tough as leather. And when a newcomer is brought in after winning a talent show, she is not happy about being forced to allow him to record a song (her song) that means the world to her. But the record label insists. And not only insists that she give him the song to record, but that her sister will sing the duet with him, not her. The hurt and betrayal go deep. But Emmy Lou, Krystal's twin sister understands and fakes a sore throat, forcing them to let Krystal sing with Jace Black. Krystal wants to hate him and tries to find every reason to do so.
But Jace is a gentleman through and through. And he's overwhelmed at the opportunity he's been given to work with his idols, having signed a contract to open shows for them. He's finally out of the oilfields and living his dream. Now he can make a better life for himself and his little sister whom he takes care of. Neither Krystal nor Jace are prepared for the intensity of the chemistry between them.
Krystal suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a man whom everyone thought was a family friend (even called him uncle). And although it's been years, the deep scars have never healed. Krystal is convinced she is so flawed no one can ever love her. Jace is determined to prove her wrong.
Her resistance is strong, but he is stronger.
This is such a good story with a realistic view into the world of stardom, life on the road, and a family that survives whatever is thrown at them. The characters are believable and the world-building is great. If you love a highly charged romance with lots of obstacles, this book is for you, and especially if you are also a music fan!

This was the first book I've read because it was popular on Instagram, and I'm glad I did. I'm not a big fan of country music, but the excitement surrounding the book were impossible to resist. Plus, growing up surrounded by the oilfields, the mention of an oilfield worker caught my attention straightaway. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. It wasn't what I expected at all; it was so much deeper than I had anticipated going into it.

This was a far more emotional book than I was expecting as well. There are highly sensitive subjects [TRIGGER WARNING sexual assault of children] touched on, and while it doesn't get very graphic, they still play a large part in the story and may be triggering to some. I wasn't expecting this emotional side to the book at all, but it made it far more worth the read to me personally.

The characters are written brilliantly. They were all relatable and likable, and I couldn't help but instantly fall in love with Krystal and Jace. The chemistry between the two was strong, and it kept me turning the pages for more. There are some steamy parts, but they don't overpower the story at all.

I can't wait to see more of these characters, and I'll absolutely be reading more by Sasha.

4 1/2 STARS!

An emotional journey of healing! With the first book in her Kings of Country series Sasha Summers brings us a story filled with hope as life unravels and rebuilds. I was drawn into the characters and the story quickly and didn't want the book to end. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series!

Krystal King is an attention grabbing character right off the bat. She is supposed to be this big country star with the world at her feet, but it doesn't take the reader long to see the undertones of what her life is really like, and as the story line progresses, we start to figure out that sometimes the bright lights and smoke are hiding a nightmare.

Jace Black is so yummy! He's your typical hardworking cowboy type in the oil fields of Texas when all of a sudden a twist of fate brings him into a world unlike anything he's ever known. He's humble, kind and such a temptation to hardened Krystal.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an emotional love story that has to overcome hurdles on it's way to happily ever after. The characters were relatable and the plot carried itself well.

Part 1 in a new series

My Jace Review . . .

It has been a long time since I read a Sasha Summers novel and I was quite happy to return to this author. I liked the concept of this book and the potential series to follow. Jace Black is an up and comer new singer from one of those reality shows, and ends up with the opportunity to sing a duet with his favorite singer/songwriter Krystal King.

The King family is basically country royalty. Krystal and her twin sister Emmy and her brother Travis have a band together called Three Kings.

Krystal has been treated like crap when it comes to her mother and her talent is ignored. When her mom tries to overstep and have Jace sing with Emmy instead of Krystal whom wrote the song, Krystal gets upset. This is where it all starts for Jace and Krystal.

Thankfully Emmy and her sister have a good bond and great banter, with Emmy always having her back and trying to get everything that Krystal deserves.

Some great example of Emmy's support:

"Now talk to me. We don't want to go to Australia? We don't know what to make for dinner? We don't want to lose Jace but we're still borderline emotionally constipated and think we can't have him even though he clearly be had . . . by you."

"Don't let fear stop this. You're this brave, strong woman. Be brave for me."

Now my tiny irk. In romance fiction when one of the characters takes a choice to save the other is so redundant and sadly irks me. Again this story line was here.

"My choice to make."

All the characters were written well. Her mom was quite the piece of work and she was written well, that you hated her from the start, where the dad was written that you felt for him and his bad choices but also his regret.

Krystal is portrayed by the media as a hell raiser but that is far from the truth as possible. It was her past secret that no one believed once she told the truth, and the aftermath of those choices made Krystal the way she is. The journey for her to move forward and find her strength was done well and you couldn't help but fall in love with Jace from the moment we meet him and with his heartbreaking back story.

There are so many elements to come with Travis, Emmy and Sawyer. Hopefully their nasty mom is going to behave in the future.

The one thing that confused me the most was Three Kings were all adults and had issues with their mom but they all lived at Home. So many problems could be been less if they didn't live there. Just a thought, but where would the angst be if they didn't live there.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a new series, and by the time we get to the end, there is even a possible extra book being hinted at – which can only be good news. I enjoy rock band/musicians touring and all the crazy that goes along with this, so I was delighted to get to review this book. It was, in fact, even richer than I had expected and took some novel directions which set up future books very cleverly. All the world building was done with subtlety and style – and wow, I would love to go and give CiCi King a piece of my mind!

Krystal, Emma, and Travis King, a successful country band led by their father, the even more famous Hank King, are interesting in themselves.

Krystal's story is very troubling, and it fits in well with the demands that are justifiably being made in real life in the #MeToo movement. It was sad to think how true the story could have been.

I am very curious to see what happens next! Great start to a new series, thank you, Sasha Summers.

Jace Black has been given his big break in country music…singing a duet with one of “The Kings”, country music legends. Jace is drawn to Krystal King from the moment they look into each other’s eyes while singing one of her songs. Fighting against this attraction, he tries to focus on making a better life for him and his sister. However, the temptation in Krystal’s eyes and the feel of her in his arms may be too much for him to resist!

Krystal King is none too happy that the beloved song she wrote will be sung by some random pretty boy who happened to win a reality TV show. However, once Krystal meets Jace, there is no denying that his voice is magnificent…in fact, his voice isn’t the only thing she likes about him! Not only is Jace easy on the eyes, but Krystal is realizing that he also has a heart of gold. If she isn’t careful, Jace might just sing his way into her heart!

This was one of the best contemporary romances I have ever read!! The storyline flowed effortlessly and made you feel like you were truly experiencing the behind the scenes lives of country music’s elite. I absolutely fell in love with both of the main characters! Krystal and Jace’s backstories were emotional and so perfectly written you will want to cheer for them to find their happily-ever-after! Their chemistry was intense, off-the-charts passionate and heart-felt! I honestly think I stopped breathing a couple of times and my heart missed a beat! The supporting characters were also exquisitely written, the good and the bad… did I mention that Sasha REALLY writes villainous characters well! A couple of the characters will have your blood boiling by the end of the book! Finally, I need to warn all of the soft hearts, like me, to have a box of tissues at the ready for this book. I stayed up until 3 am to finish it and was ugly crying by the conclusion…yes, it was that fantastic! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary romance. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!!!!
