This is a wonderful book for kids to read. I actually had fun reading this book. I did not realize this was a series. This book is, I believe book 9 of the series. A young author with a bunch of ambition. Also a GREAT writer.
This is a recommended book to read for kids to read and have fun at the same time.
The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing Faberge Egg is designed for upper elementary children and all animal lovers. R.F. Kristi blends two of her favorite topics; cats and mystery to create an adorable, yet inquisitive, Siberian kitty detective, Inca. When her human mom traveled to Russia to display her famous cheeses, Inca becomes excited that she gets to visit her mother country. Inca and her detective agency become intrigued with the mystery surrounding a very expensive and old Faberge Egg that come up missing with no clues left behind. Inca must solve this mystery quickly to clear the name of someone dear to her, but could one of her new friends be involved in the theft?
R.F. Kristi has found her niche writing about feline and suspense. The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing Faberge Egg is the ninth in her Inca Cat Detective series. Charming friends and mysterious places will draw young people in with Inca as she takes on a new case that could implement a royal cousin or her new robotic friend. The plot involves the characters traveling to famous historical buildings in Russia, allowing children to learn about the rich culture of the Russian people. The animals are fitting for their breed, while adding a personality to their individual character. Overall, this book will feed a child’s imagination while educating them about different cultures, how to make new friends, and entertain them with the mystery surrounding a theft. This is an author that parents can point their children towards, knowing they can trust her to enrich their lives through books. I would like to mention the illustrations for The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing Faberge Egg compliments the book beautifully.
This delightful chapter book, like the earlier ones in the series, includes beautiful color illustrations to highlight a story that can be enjoyed by parents and grandparents as well as children of all ages who like mysteries. Younger children will love hearing this tale starring cats, dogs, a hamster and their humans visiting Russia. Older children will enjoy reading about a country they learn about in school.
Inca is a Siberian cat who is very excited that she and her friends in Inca & Company, her own detective agency, are going to Russia. Missy, her mom, makes the very best cheeses in the world, and they are going to present her newest cheese to top chefs from eastern Europe. Inca’s ancestors are from Russia, and she can’t wait to meet some of her family. Missy’s friend and internationally famous detective, Solo, is joining her on the trip, and taking his canine partner, Terrance.
When they arrive in Moscow, Solo and Terrance learn that a priceless Faberge egg has been stolen from the Faberge palace museum in Saint Petersburg, which will be their next stop on the journey. These are the kinds of cases Inca & Company loves to work on, so Terrance and the fearless feline are off and running. Watching Inca and her friends try to find the Faberge egg was great fun! I particularly loved meeting Jibo and watching him with our furry gang. The illustrations give an idea of the beauty of Faberge eggs and the architecture of Russia, as well as Inca and her friends.
Excellent character traits are demonstrated, including teamwork when the pets investigate, and making new friends. Russia is no longer a body of land on a map, but a place with all kinds of people, history, art, and yes, Siberian cats! The mystery is not easy to solve and includes a few brief scary moments when meeting the bad guys. I highly recommend this for children of all ages who like mysteries, cats, dogs, hamsters, and the idea of seeing new people and places.
From a thankful heart: I received a complimentary copy of this novel, and this is my honest review.
This book sends Inca - a Siberian cat and her family to Russia; their mom and Fromage are honoured to present their new cheese creation. Knowing Inca and her way of thinking, you can guess that some important mission needs to be accomplished as well.
With "The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing Fabergé Egg", R.F. Kristi has created another beautiful and heart-warming story of cats, their human Missy, further animals, and a mission. It is a very enjoyable read, you are drawn very close to Inca - if you are willing to let it happen. R.F. Kristi's love for animals shows. She carefully elaborates the four-legged characters; the two-legged characters are of sufficient depth as well. Inca - charming sleuth and confessing Dr House fan - guides the reader through the story, making it a feel-good read. The story comprises likeable characters, an important mission, and it has a really good flow. It is the ninth book in a series and - as I also enjoyed the first and second ones, I am looking forward to reading more of the Inca series and the mysteries this amazing team of furry detectives solve.
This is a book for you if you like steady-paced, funny, and heart-warming adventure stories for children (8-12), lovely illustrations, if you love animals, and if you like interesting four-legged characters.
Ever wonder what your pets get up to when you are not around?
Written in the first person, this is one tale of an engaging cat who has a detective agency called Inca and Company. A company that is well-known in London, England, and France.
Inca’s owner and her owner’s brother are going to a cheese convention in Russia. Solo is a human (likes Inca’s owner). He is going to a detective gathering in Russia too.
Do you want to know what pets get up to while traveling with their owners? Who knew pets could write, talk to other animal species, and engage is solving thefts. Even the theft of a Faberge egg stolen from a locked-up-tight museum in St. Petersberg?
And, what role does an AI transformer robot called Jibo do in the story?
Read and find out. This tale is an engaging story about extraordinary animals for mid-grade children and above brought into our century.
Read this to younger children. Get into the marvelous role!
The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing Faberge Egg Written and illustrated by R.F. Kristi
My first time reading a book in this series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Inca is a Siberian Russian Cat who runs a detective agency consisting of fellow felines, dogs and a hamster. They trek the globe to solve mysteries. This one begins when Inca’s mom goes abroad promoting her cheese business. Inca and her crew travel to her native land, Russia. Laid out in a diary format, the readers travel abroad and learn a bit of history while becoming embroiled in solving the mystery of a valuable Faberge egg stolen from the museum.
The characters are well developed and engaging personifications of the animals. There are a few illustrations to assist younger readers. I would recommend the book as a chapter reader for elementary and middle-grade students. Readers who enjoy detective stories, animal characters, and travel will particularly enjoy the read.
A cute and lighthearted story about a Siberian Cat detective and her family and friends. In adding the book on goodreads, I learned that it is actually part of a series. In this installment, Inca travels to her ancestral homeland, solves a mystery, and learns an important lesson about friendship and what is most important. This book was given to me by someone very important to me in honor of my own cat, and would be an ideal read for children just getting into reading chapter-book-length works (perhaps also including reluctant readers who need an accessible and engaging story) as well as animal lovers of any age in the mood for a very light read.
The Inca book series is great for kids and the young at heart. While solving mysteries, this group of intrepid animals watch out for other animals, make friends and learn valuable life lessons. The illustrations are cute. The reader learns a bit of history as the scenes take place all over the world. I highly recommend this series, especially for the kids.
R.F. Kristi’s The Cat Detectives in Russia: The Case of the Missing. Faberge’ Egg: Diary of a Cat, is a totally wonderful story for children. Inca is a small Siberian kitty and head of her own detective agency. She and her little family and friends have successfully solved several unusual cases in incredibly creative ways. The stories in this series are original and imaginative and the animals are caring and generous. Highly recommended!
This is an adorable children’s book. The book will feed a child’s imagination while educating him/her about different cultures. The book also teaches children about making new friends, no matter their differences. The animal characters have bold and likable personalities. The mystery will allow the reader to engage in higher-level thinking. This is a witty and heartwarming adventure for a child to take.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.
This story includes commoners, royalty, talking animals, artificial intelligence in a robot who can change into almost anything, human crooks and misbehaving predatory birds. All this and a setting in Russia which also involvolves a trip to the Bolshoi ballet and a stolen Faberge egg. The animal detectives triumph and find the stolen egg, the bad birds are driven away and the evil humans go to jail. If I were a child I would probably enjoy this story.
The cat detectives on on their way to Moscow and St. Petersburg to show off their cheese, while their neighbor, Detective Solo attends a conference of law enforcement detective. Inca, a Siberian cat is especially excited since his breed hails from there. Lots of adventure and a few surprises as well as cute illustrations.
Wether for a child or light hearted relief for an adult this mystery was and is a delight to read. Furry friends working together with new friends to solve a mystery while having a new adventure. A two 👍's up read ,so wether you aquier a copy for yourself or another ,it will be enjoyed. 🤔🙄☺ Kat
Wonderfully illustrated with a delightful story set in Russia. Inca, the cats and Terence, the Golden Retriever, are in pursuit of a stolen Faberge Egg. As the adventure unfolds, we are given interesting facts about St. Petersburg interspersed with a fun story of friendship, beauty and wonder. Highly recommended.
Inca and friends are at it again. They are having a great time in St. Petersburg. At the same time they rescue a stolen Fabrege egg. This book allows a lot of suspension of disbelief while informing the reader of a lot of interesting facts about Russian history and institutions. A fun read for all ages.
Felines and friends follow clues to the missing Faberge Egg
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. The story is simple and easy to follow and the illustrations are very pretty. This would appeal to children of about 7 to 9 years, particularly those who love animals. Recommended.
Cute children's story for young readers, & a fun adventure, although I felt Inca was a little bit arrogant this time about her abilities & being such a "good kitty" all the time, & a little too prideful about her Russian heritage (although this may be colored in my mind by the Russian invasion of Ukraine). It was a bit repetetive, but it was a cute adventure nonetheless.
This is by far one of the cutest books to read aloud with children. It's not a quick read so you can read chapter by chapter and keep a discussion going with your children. Oh, adults are going to love this too.
It's been a long time since I read a children's picture book! The adventure was fun, the pictures were adorable, and I really enjoyed the characters. The book cover was awesome! A fun read! Cat's rule!!
It was an interesting read to say the least! All the animals as detectives is really quite a change from what I normally read, but loved it all the same! Loved the pics and all the adventures they went on with a bit of history involved, jibo is so cute !
Cute story about Inca - a Siberian cat, his Detective agency with his friends/family, and a missing Faberge egg. This is written for elementary children and is a good read. It had action and gave clues to so you could try to figure out what happened. Kids loved it.
Great story line full of adventure and a wonderful way to show how just because you’re different from others doesn’t mean you can’t be friends or work to help each other. I hope this series will last for future generations to enjoy, R.F. Kristi, thank you for writing and please continue.
apparently there are 9 books in this series ... i've not read those others yet??! so cute. i love a creative read. i would love to travel there one day?? at least we can travel there in this read ... creatively speaking. ( ;
I enjoyed this book very much. I especially enjoyed the simple way the book is written. Also, the very beautiful pictures that illustrate it. A wonderful book for children.
Your kids will love this cute story of a family of cats and their friends. They spend their time hunting for a missing expensive egg in this wonderful story.
While one of a series, this enjoyable children's book can be read alone. It is about a group of animals living with two human friends and intent of solving criminal cases, in this case a stolen Faberge egg. Written as a diary by a Siamese kitten, who considers herself the chief detective of the group, all of the characters are introduced and shown in delightful illustrations. Sometimes things are repeated but this may be to make it easier for children to take in. Aimed at children, it will still be enjoyed by adults.
