Nice story about mistaken identity.

Jade is moving to a new apartment which has been set up for her in some sort of deal brokered by her Dad for serving more jail time than he would otherwise serve. The deal also is gets him protection in prison, pays for her sisters college and she gets a job. The only stipulation is that she has to treat Nick at her apartment complex really good since Nick set up the deal for them.

Jade meets her next door neighbor, Nick when she is moving in and treats him very bad before even learning his name. So she sets out to make a better impression and ends up doing him a bunch of favors. Once she starts falling fo him, he begins to feel a bit bad for taking advantage since he knows he isn’t the Nick she thinks he is (the one from her Dad’s deal) and she hates liars.

“The scent was almost enough to distract me from the sight of her ass. Almost. I started to drool. As if I wasn’t already turned on by this woman, she’d fucking made me biscuits! I was rock hard. Hard at the sight of biscuits. What a pervert.”

The book is good, it has a good backstory, possessiveness, Some jealously, criminal activity, a strip club, a difficult choice and more.

I believe this was my first by Mara. Found it free on Amazon, liked the blurb and the cover.

Gotta confess that I have mixed feelings about this book. At first I was intrigued by the sweetness of the bad boy. It gave the book a whole new light.

Jade was an independent and strong woman. No one messed with her. She worked hard for everything, always took care of her sister and criminal father, that was in jail. After a deal that her father made, she gets benefits from it, like an apartment at a shady complex and her sister’s tuition paid. It was too good to be true. But she went anyway. There she meets Nick. She thinks he’s the one that made a deal with her father and with that, she starts showing him her gratitude.

“You might be big and I might be small, but no one messes with Jade Cuoco.”

Nick is the youngest of 5 brothers. He was always the one that suffered but when he reached fifteen, he outgrew them and things changed. He was a massive guy. His height and size intimidated people and that was used in his advantage by his brothers. After a young with woman appears at the complex he lives saying something about a deal, things start to get heated between them.

“I’d known this girl for three days, and I wasn’t sure how I could live without her. The thought was terrifying.”

I enjoyed reading reading it. I loved how cute Nick was. He was a giant but he was really sweet. Everyone judged him by his size and didn’t appreciate his brain. Jade did.

“Nick was a gentle man encased in the body of a brute. A gentle giant.”

This book was interesting. I’ll still check the rest of the series because I love a series about brothers. It’s one of my favorite things to read.
The only bad things I have to say about this book is that I thought it should have some depth and some background situation. It was focused so much on the sex that everything kind of faded away. It was just missing something in it.

Anyway, I anxious to read Keagan’s book. And the one about the twins. Can’t wait!!

But now Dad’s doing someone else’s time, and in exchange he gets protection, my sister gets college, and I get a low-rent apartment—a freaking miracle in San Francisco. All I have to do is keep the man who arranged dad's deal happy—some guy named Nick.
What I didn’t expect was for Nick to be the biggest, sexiest man I’ve ever met. And I certainly didn’t expect I’d ever consider letting someone else take care of me for a change.

Great book

Wow. First read by this author and it did not disappoint. Absolutely love Nicky and Jade relationship. Hot and full of drama. Nicky is the youngest brother although the biggest he is meeker then the others. He loves hard. I didn't like the insults towards Nick from his brothers. But admired how Jade always took his side. Can't wait until the next book

A loveable giant.

When Jade met Nick she was first impressed with his overall size. He was a 6'6" beautiful specimen of a man. She was tiny compared to Nick who was pulled to her like she was magnetic. He would protect her in the strip club where they worked. As sparks began to fly between them then the fire so hot they just sizzled, erupted between them. Good hot read.

Great book!

This was a really great book. The story line was very intense and the love scenes are so intense and steamy! You have Jade, who really doesn't trust anyone and then you have Nick, big muscles hottie who are neighbors, then lovers. Very interesting story line. Will definitely check out other books from this author.

Interesting plot but felt underdeveloped

This had a feel of a novella. The timeline and character development felt a bit rushed. Although it is a part of a series it felt unfinished. While I will not be continuing with the series , I liked the writing style of the author.

This book was really good book that is filled with so much passion, it had so many gripping storyline lines throughout the book. Even though it did get a bit to sexual at one point toward the end it’s still worth the read.
