Shannon Hale is the New York Times best-selling author of six young adult novels: the Newbery Honor book Princess Academy, multiple award winner Book of a Thousand Days, and the highly acclaimed Books of Bayern series. She has written three books for adults, including the upcoming Midnight in Austenland (Jan. 2012), companion book to Austenland. She co-wrote the hit graphic novel Rapunzel's Revenge and its sequel Calamity Jack with husband Dean Hale. They live near Salt Lake City, Utah with their four small children, and their pet, a small, plastic pig.
Despite being a children’s novel, this book does an exquisite job at marrying adult themes, into something that kids and teens can relate to. A lot of these issues could be representative of mommy issues, daddy issues. Struggles with self identification, sexuality, and even mental abuse. The relationship between Raven Queen and Apple White is something that truly connects with me, as of recent developments in my life. My boyfriend recently left me, for similar reasons that Apple wished Raven to sign her life away to a pre-determined destiny. Fear of the unknown, and completely axing away everything someone once knew. If I take anything away from reading this novel, it’s my understanding of certain situations. Why someone would give up a form of love, for another form that wouldn’t exist, if one choice was made. I now understand and sympathize with these sort of feelings and thought processes. I still love my ex boyfriend, and I’m well aware of his continued love for me. However, it is asking far too much of someone, to give up something they’ve always known, for the unknown.
I thought it was it was just on ever after high but it was a lot of different kinds I think Shannon hale work so hard on all of the book she made and maybe she got a little help on the book because it takes so much time to do all this books and a lot of writing to and maybe she suffers to do all of these books
