Down and Dirty is book five in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. This is a sports, older woman, younger man, friends to lovers romance. I fell in love with these two characters.
Landon Covington is a twenty three year old rookie for the Seattle Ice Hawks. He loves playing for the team but doesn’t get much ice time yet. He’s found a great group of friends and Seattle is feeling like home.
Aubree Derrick is thirty years old and works for the team’s charity organization. She came right into this organization right out of college and has worked her way up. She loves her job helping the children of Seattle.
It’s Becca and Owen’s dual bachelor and bachelorette party in Las Vegas and the whole group is there. Landon and Aubree knew each other although not well. Landon especially had noticed Aubree. But what happens when the drinks start freely flowing? You wake up the next morning with a huge rock on your finger and a marriage certificate laying on the desk!
I enjoyed this book so much! Both Aubree and Landon had their issues. Both had reasons for doubting that true love exists. Where Aubree just avoided relationships all together and concentrated on her career, Landon believed that the woman he would love forever was out there and he decided to save himself for her.
Don’t let Landon’s twenty three year old status fool you. He was what might be considered an old soul. And he was most definitely an alpha, take charge man. These two were so perfect together. Was this just a drunken mistake? Or was it their subconscious telling them to pay attention, that this is the one for you?
I loved everything about this book and couldn’t put it down. I had to know how things were going to turn out. Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Grant and Anna’s story in Wild for You.

Down and Dirty is the fifth installment in Kendall Ryan’s ‘Hot Jocks’ series and can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I’ve only read the first book and I wasn’t lost at all. If you’re a fan of the younger man/older woman troupe, a quickie Vegas wedding and a male virgin, this is the book for you!
Landon is the rookie on the Seattle Ice Hawks team and he’s notoriously single. He’s never found the right girl and hasn’t settled for the wrong one. He’s got it bad for Aubree, who is 7 years older than him and works for the hockey league’s charity. One night in Vegas leads to a marriage between the two. And though Aubree is quick to want to get it annulled, Landon wants to see if things could work between the two…
Landon is one of my favorite heroes Kendall Ryan has ever written. I loved him to pieces. I liked Aubree, too, I just wish she would have been more upfront and honest and saved them both a lot of miscommunication and heartache. I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder. Both did an amazing job voicing these characters. They’re always a pleasure to listen to.
This was an easy to read romance that made my heart happy. Sometimes we need something light, sexy, and fun- this fit that perfectly. I love that about Ryan’s books. I’m so excited for the next book in this series, which will be Anna and Grant’s.

‹ the h (30) is seven years older than the H (23), wich i really liked, but she was annoying asf about it. the age-gap wasn't a big deal for me
› the good thing, this book has two of my favorite tropes: virgin hero and sport romance. the hero was a sweetheart so my 3stars are basically for him.

Another hot addition to Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series. This time we get a “oops we got married in Vegas” mixed with the older heroine, younger hero trope. Oh and the hero is a virgin. That’s a whole lot of trope and a whole lot of goodness. Aubree wants out of this drunken mistake marriage, but Landon is in it for good. There’s always been an attraction and flirting between them, but can they make this work? They don’t even know each other very well! You’ll have to read Down and Dirty and find out. This one is quick, steamy, and sweet. I love how these two characters really have to put themselves out there and be vulnerable to make things work between them.

Me encantan las historias en las que la protagonista femenina es mayor que el protagonista masculino. Y ese es el caso de la historia que nos ocupa, la numero 5 de la serie Hot Jocks. El romance es entretenido, Aubree y Landon me han caído muy bien y tienen mucha química. Sigue sin ser nada memorable, pero se coloca como el mejor libro de esta serie junto al tercero.

Sweet,sexy mistake marriage book with a reverse age gap. Landon is a virgin(23) and Aubree is not (she is 30 🙄), he wants to make this "mistake" work, she is reticent but give it a try, and they succeed in having a cute love story. The secondary characters are cool and makes for a funny read. Minimal drama and plot, the book centers more on their forming bond. I like it but lets be real its very unrealistic.

l always adore Kendall Ryan's stories. They're the perfect combination of heart, humor and heat. But I seriously loved Down and Dirty because it was all of these things AND SO MUCH MORE! Landon and Aubree were SO combustible together. Their banter was addicting and the tension between them set my kindle ablaze!
Ok let's be real- Landon Covington made this book for me. He was so goddamn delicious but also so real and down to earth. Ryan honestly writes the male perspective so well. Being in his head and seeing how he felt about Aubree was the best part of the story for me. He was vulnerable and yet so alpha and a refreshing change front the norm. I also loved the fact that even though Landon might have been waiting for the right girl, (Read: VIRGIN ALPHA-MALE!), once he set his sights on Aubree he was 1000% laser-focused on making his accidental wife his forever girl. And just FYI, their chemistry was FIRE and his bedroom game was on point and filthy! He definitely brought his A game!
Overall, I loved how despite looking different on paper, Landon and Aubree were perfect together! This story was fantastic. It was an amazing and different spin on the usual accidental Vegas wedding story and I loved every minute of it! Now I need Ana and Grant ASAP!!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

This book should have ticked all my sports, virgins, Vegas weddings and so on boxes, but sadly didn’t. I happily watched Netflix shows, sidetracked with headlines on Coronavirus, shopping etc all things I typically avoid rather than force myself to finish this book. It was just blah. I think it’s all the heroines fault. She dragged out her feelings toward what appears to be the best man in the world the hero is simply far more mature than her even though he was younger.
Her thoughtlessness in keeping her promotion from him when the same happened to him he wanted to talk to her. She got off lightly in the trust scenario he was very forgiving. I haven’t read any other books in this series and doubt I will. The group of friends all seemed immature and silly. I don’t understand the ratings this under 300 page book received but I found it hard to pick back up and forced myself to finish. I think I’m going back to dark and gritty - bit like my mood now!🙃

I won't hash out any more details than that. Just know that you need to snatch this book up. It is such a sweet and heartfelt read. Kendall Ryan never fails to deliver a decadently delicious story. I absolutely loved it! So please... GO READ! I can promise you this feel good book will leave you smiling from ear to ear. Five stars for Landon, Aubree and Down and Dirty!

I absolutely fell in love with Down and Dirty! My favorite by far from the Hot Jocks series. Above and beyond your wildest expectations.
Kendall really outdid herself. You won’t be able to put this book down until you finish.
Who doesn’t love a friends to lovers?! Especially when there’s a REVERSE age gap, yes you heard me right and it’s HOT ladies.
This is exactly what you need for your hopeless romantic heart, it’s lightweight, sweet, funny, but packed with HEAT and some angst. The banter between these two is EVERYTHING. Landons POV was on point, he is oh so sweet but still a major Alpha that will make your panties wet! A dedicated Hero who won’t stop until he gets what he wants... and Aubree is what he wants. My knees are still weak just thinking about the chemistry between these two.
You will swoon the whole way through this book and won’t regret a minute of it. & when you finish, you’ll want more from this amazing couple.
& now I sit and wait for the next installment.

Pero Aubree piensa que es vieja para él, por otra parte está bien con su independencia y secretamente tiene miedo a entregar su corazón y terminar lastimada así que por todo eso se resiste a Landon.
Landon solo fue un divino, me enamoré de él y cómo no hacerlo?
Él es joven pero siempre fue maduro para su edad, desde chico tuvo que cuidar a su papá así que creció rápido. Su personaje está contado bien a profundidad como el porqué tomó la decisión de permanecer virgen.
Algo que me molestó...
Obviamente Aubree ve como un error el casamiento sorpresa y lucha en contra de esto en todo momento.
Esta terquedad de ella me sacó un poco de quicio, más por cómo ella se comportaba con Landon. Era desagradable a veces y me extrañó un poco porque por lo general las heroínas de esta serie me suelen encantar.
Pero si bien esas actitudes me molestaron lo enmendó cuando ella arregla las cosas con Landon. Fue increíble esa reconciliación.
De todas maneras, KR no profundizó mucho con el personaje femenino.
Me hubiera gustado saber más sobre su pasado y por qué no podía entregarse a la relación con Landon.
La lección que aprende es que el amor no comprende edades, puede atraparte por sorpresa y una intensa atracción puede convertirse en algo más profundo si se le da una oportunidad.
Creí que la autora iba a apuntar más en la diferencia de edad y que no lo hiciera no me molestó que levrestara importancia porque no creo que esto sea un impedimento en estos tiempos para enamorarse, estar con alguien más viejo o joven.
Estuve enganchada a este romance que se iba cociendo a fuego lento, fue tierno pero acompañado de mucha sensualidad y una pizca de drama.
KR sigue ofreciendo una serie de libros con historias para todos los gustos y realmente adictivas!
Al menos yo no puedo tener suficiente de ellos... Así que, por favor quiero leer ya el libro de Grant! Me tiene muy intrigada...

5 Star Review Down and Dirty (Hot Jocks #5) by Kendall Ryan
Down and Dirty is book five in Kendall Ryan’s latest Hot Jocks series and is Landon Covington and Aubree Derrick’s story and what a story it was. This book is not your typical romance story and that was what intrigued me. I admit I am not a fan of age gap romance (although seven years is not too bad), in fact I can count on one hand the number I have read and enjoyed over the years, but this one was a great read. It was also a pleasant change that Landon is 7 years younger than Aubree, not something you see that often.
This is a friends to lovers story, with a side of hockey, an accidental marriage and a virgin, that was a fun and entertaining book to read.
Despite their difference in ages, it is the Landon who wants to stay married and does not want a divorce. The chemistry between them is intense and I loved the build up of tension. It also doesn't hurt that there were quite a few laugh out loud moments that got me some funny looks from those around me.
I loved Landon, he is so swoon worthy and Aubree is a strong, confident, feisty woman who I would be happy to call a friend. This is a steamy, heart warming book left me with a smile on my face and is perhaps my favourite in the series to date.

4.25 Hot Hockey Rookie Virgin Stars
I have not read any of the other books in this series, but I had no trouble reading this one as a standalone. There were several characters in this story that were clearly earlier H/h combos in this series, but it didn't impact this story very much (the H/h in this book hook up at the engagement party of another couple; then they attend that couple's wedding later in the book, so there are several players from the team with their s/os... and some without that will be featured in later books in this series).
Landon Covington has just finished his rookie year with the Seattle hockey team that picked him up in the draft, and while he wasn't lighting anything on fire on the ice just yet, he feels he is contributing, learning, and he has made some strong friendships with his teammates. He has also made friends with a certain lady that caught his eye from the start: Aubree Derrick. When they end up chatting at their mutual friends' Las Vegas engagement party, Landon realizes that his attraction isn't entirely one-sided. After some drinks, more talk, some shots, additional alcohol, and bad decisions, they wake up in the same room... with a marriage certificate next to where they passed out naked in bed together.
Aubree is horrified, and she isn't sure she can handle the age difference between them (Landon is 23; Aubree is 30), but Landon has always felt that Aubree was his ideal woman, so he convinces her to give their relationship a try. But Aubree has plans for her future that she did not see a husband as part of at this stage; will she truly give Landon a chance? And if she does and things go well, will this career woman change her direction for love?
What I liked:
--- Solid story line that kept the book moving along - I finished it the same day I started
--- Both MCs were likeable and you wanted them to get their HEA
--- Given how hot Landon's description was, it seemed unlikely that he would be a virgin, but it was actually pretty hot bc he was that much more into it when they finally "did it"
--- STEAMY GOODNESS (once we got there!)
What I didn't like as much:
--- It's possible that Aubree was in earlier books, so we knew more about what she does in relation to the team as far as why she was hooked up with the players, but there wasn't much exposition or background given on that, so it wasn't really clear what her connection was and why she was friends with Landon in the first place - some more info there would have been useful to help connect with the characters
--- Landon was a little immature in his reaction to Aubree's "secret"
--- While there was quite a bit of steamy third base action, this was a slow burn to get to the main event (but once there, VERY hot)
Overall, this was a solid read - I enjoyed the relationship between the main characters; they were both likeable; there was some delish steam; and (of course!) a satisfying HEA.
(Not sure where the author came up with this title bc it doesn't really fit any of the themes of the book... just an observation.)

I love this series but I wasn't sure how Aubree and Landon's story would work.
It just did.
Two, not even close friends, who may have noticed each other's attractiveness before end up married on a drunk Vegas night. The problem - or not - is, Landon is not only a 23-year-old hockey star virgin, he believes in marriage and no matter the circumstances, but he's also fascinated by Aubree and wants to make it work. Aubree's not sure about being on board with this plan. Her dating life is nothing to write a story about, but marrying Landon is definitely a mistake in her eyes at first. Add the fact that he's younger than her and she's about to move to another country.
His determination is admirable, though. It's easy for Aubree to forget about everything and just focus on the easiness of their connection.
I still don't know how Kendall made this work, but it really did. Maybe it was Landon's matureness despite the example his father set for him, or that Aubree didn't try hard to resist him and their relationship. Worked out pretty damn well, looking forward to Ana and Grant's story!

4.5 Swoon-worthy Stars!!

Down and Dirty is the 5th book in the Hot Jocks Series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. Down and Dirty follows the story of Aubree and Landon. Aubree and Landon are total opposites and their lives have them headed in two completely different directions, but one drunken night in Las Vegas is about to turn their worlds upside down…
Aubree and Landon are two characters that just make you fall instantly for them. Aubree is a fantastic friend, but doesn’t have time for relationships. She’s smart, sassy and completely independent. And then we have Landon. Landon is the younger man, who is on top of his game. He too has reservations when it comes to love and relationships. When you look at all of these facts, these two characters shouldn’t work. They are complete opposites, but you know what they say, opposites attract. And the chemistry between these two burns hotter than ever.
For me, Landon & Aubree’s story takes the cake. I am a huge sucker for these accidental/drunken mistake wedding stories. I mean these types of stories are just so much fun and Kendall Ryan totally knocked it out of the park with Down and Dirty. I was hooked on Landon and Aubree from their very first encounter. The more I read, the more invested I became. I devoured this book in just under 3 hours. That’s right under 3 hours. If that’s not an indication of how much I enjoyed this story, than I don’t know what is? There was just something about Landon and Aubree. I was head over heels in love with the two of them and loved watching them trying to navigate their way to a happy ending. I loved their will they/won’t they moments. Landon was such a sweet guy. He was everything I could possibly want from a book boyfriend. He had me swooning one moment, and breathless in the next. He gave Aubree a run for her money and I just couldn’t wait to see how it would all play out in the end.
Down and Dirty was a fantastic read from beginning to end. It was smartly written and entertaining. I loved the characters and couldn’t stop myself from devouring their story. I thought this story had just the right amount of humor, steam, angst and drama. Down and Dirty hit all the marks for me and is an instant favorite!

This book was amazing! I couldn't put it down and devoured it in one day. I loved the banter between Landon and Aubree. Their connections felt real and we were along for the full ride and journey as they navigated the waters as a newly married couple who had never dated before. I love accidental marriages in Vegas stories and this one was one of my favourites. Landon was almost able to beat out Owen for my favourite hot jock in this series. I loved how he instantly wanted to take care of Aubree and it was really sweet how he worries about being the perfect husband. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series!

Who doesn’t love an accidental Vegas wedding, but then add in a Hunky Virgin Hero and have it written by Kendall Ryan…..You just know it is going to be amazing right from the start.
And I am right, Down and Dirty was AMAZEBALLS!!! I think this one just might be my favorite of the series. I loved the storyline. Who wouldn’t want to read a book about the Hero being a virgin for once. It’s refreshing when we get a romance novel and the Hero isn’t always a player, jumping from one woman to the next.
I also loved the characters in this story. Landon is such an amazing Hero. I loved his sweetness and he can also bring the steam when needed ;) I also loved Aubree….she is a sassy and spunky heroine and when she gets out of her own head, she is perfect for Landon.
Down and Dirty is the fifth book in Kendall’s Hot Jocks series. This is an interconnected standalone novel. They can each be read in any order, but to truly understand and appreciate this series, I would recommend reading them in order. This story is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of this story worked well for these characters. I would consider this a slow burn, but not in the normal sense. You’ll understand when you read this book.
In this book we follow Aubree and Landon’s story. Landon is the rookie of the team and one of the youngest players. He is also waiting for the right girl before crossing that line ;) Aubree works for the charity that is linked to the hockey team. So she knows all of the players and their women. So when the group goes on a trip to Vegas for Becca and Owen, who would’ve thought it was Landon and Aubree who end up married!!! I will say that Landon really made this book for me. I loved Aubree, but Landon’s determination and down to earth feel, is what sucked me into this story!! I loved that Landon was NOT willing to give up on this accidental marriage, he was willing to put his whole heart into making it a success. Let me just say this…..You really need to read this story!!!
Another thing I loved is, we still get the laughs, the feels and emotion we have come to expect from Kendall Ryan. I loved that we got to see all the players and the previous couples in this book. I look forward to the other books in this series and seeing where all these players end up.
As with every book Kendall releases, we got a FANTASTIC read. If you love a sports romance novel, then this is the series you should read!! Kendall has created such an amazing hockey world. I love getting lost in their world!!!

Who doesn’t love an accidental Vegas wedding, but then add in a Hunky Virgin Hero and have it written by Kendall Ryan…..You just know it is going to be amazing right from the start.
And I am right, Down and Dirty was AMAZEBALLS!!! I think this one just might be my favorite of the series. I loved the storyline. Who wouldn’t want to read a book about the Hero being a virgin for once. It’s refreshing when we get a romance novel and the Hero isn’t always a player, jumping from one woman to the next.
I also loved the characters in this story. Landon is such an amazing Hero. I loved his sweetness and he can also bring the steam when needed ;) I also loved Aubree….she is a sassy and spunky heroine and when she gets out of her own head, she is perfect for Landon.
Down and Dirty is the fifth book in Kendall’s Hot Jocks series. This is an interconnected standalone novel. They can each be read in any order, but to truly understand and appreciate this series, I would recommend reading them in order. This story is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of this story worked well for these characters. I would consider this a slow burn, but not in the normal sense. You’ll understand when you read this book.
In this book we follow Aubree and Landon’s story. Landon is the rookie of the team and one of the youngest players. He is also waiting for the right girl before crossing that line ;) Aubree works for the charity that is linked to the hockey team. So she knows all of the players and their women. So when the group goes on a trip to Vegas for Becca and Owen, who would’ve thought it was Landon and Aubree who end up married!!! I will say that Landon really made this book for me. I loved Aubree, but Landon’s determination and down to earth feel, is what sucked me into this story!! I loved that Landon was NOT willing to give up on this accidental marriage, he was willing to put his whole heart into making it a success. Let me just say this…..You really need to read this story!!!
Another thing I loved is, we still get the laughs, the feels and emotion we have come to expect from Kendall Ryan. I loved that we got to see all the players and the previous couples in this book. I look forward to the other books in this series and seeing where all these players end up.
As with every book Kendall releases, we got a FANTASTIC read. If you love a sports romance novel, then this is the series you should read!! Kendall has created such an amazing hockey world. I love getting lost in their world!!!

Everyone knows how much I love reading hockey romances, so it should come as no surprise how much I love this series. Kendall Ryan writes such fantastic hockey heroes that each time I read a new book I fall head over hockey stick for the new player.
Landon is the man. He’s young, gorgeous, sexy, determined and ballsy. How else can you describe the man who gets hitched in Vegas to an older woman and will not let go without a fight?
Aubree is headstrong, independent, cute and sexy. She’s totally unprepared for and in no way equipped to handle the determined hockey hunk that is her husband.
What these two do have is chemistry. Off the charts, fire engine red, burn you to the ground, chemistry. Watching them fall hard and fast for one another is one helluva a ride.
I absolutely loved this book and suggest that you TBR it right away AND if you haven’t read the other books in Kendall’s Hot Jocks Series, you should definitely add those to your reading list as well.

Landon and Aubree both made me all kinds of swoony! What an incredible story this turned out to be. It’s always when you least expect it that a story is going to give you all the warm and fuzzies! I expected the story to be sexy and humorous, and it delivered, but it also came in a great big box of heartwarming #feels!!
This series has turned out to be ridiculously entertaining and one I can easily see myself binge reading again and again in the future! Fun, humorous, well written stories that all have a special tough of heart to them! If you haven’t indulged yet, what are you waiting for?????

older woman and younger hero (virgin hero).
i'm not big on the older woman trope, she's only 7 years older than him (but I'm still not big on this trope) but since the age difference wasn't referenced that much, I didn't even notice that she was older.
i love virgin hero! idk why but I just think is cute when he's the inexperienced one.
