Squeamish

Rate this book
Sharon, an Upper West Side shrink, longtime recovering alcoholic, and world-class hemophobe, finds herself in the South Plains of Texas- off her psychotropic drugs- after her nephew's sudden death. SQUEAMISH is a grotesque tale of phobia and compulsion, a minimalist work of psychological horror about craving what terrifies us most.

I haven't seen this play, only read it, but it seems like it does what it sets out to do—bizarre but captivating.

Gross yet very interesting. Solo shows are always a challenge and, to me, not the most interesting pieces. But, with a very skilled and commanding actress, this could be a good spooky and disturbing night of theater.
