Hana knows what she wants out of life, and she’s working hard to get it…
The one thing she doesn’t have to worry about is love. Her parents have already chosen the man she’ll marry, and she’s content with that decision.
When she meets Markim on her thirty-first birthday, she realizes how wrong she was. Faced with the most difficult decision of her life, Hana ignores the warnings of her parents and explores a relationship with Markim.
That’s when her parents introduce her to her betrothed… all three of them.
Shocked by what she thought was a long-dead practice of her parents’ homeland, she fully intends to find a way out of the arrangement. But the handsome men are just as determined as she is.
With her growing love for Markim and the confines of American society pushing her to reject these men, Hana is faced with a choice. She knows she should follow her heart, but where does that lead… and what will it cost?
Arranged is a full length, stand-alone, contemporary reverse harem romance suitable for readers 18+
First of all, this is the first RH book I've ever read. I am typically devoted to YA Fantasy and Dystopia and rarely drag myself outside my comfort zone.
Having done so to read "Arranged", I'm so glad I did! Elmore's voice is authentic, her characters are real and relatable. Humor is interspersed struggle, and I felt a real connection to the characters.
I really struggled with this book for multiple reasons. 1. The first problem I had was the fiancés didn’t arrive till 40% into the book so I felt the beginning was massively drawn out with no real purpose 2. The female main character is suppose to be over 30 but to me her tone and language felt more like a older teen/ someone in their 20’s with how much she complained and threw tantrums when it could have easily been solved with a simple conversation like an adult would actually do. She also majorly relied on her parents which at 30 I don’t know many women who do that and they mentioned “respect” a lot but I rarely saw any and when it was mentioned it was normally in an argument to shut her up not because she was being rude. 3. I found this author did a lot of telling but very rarely showed you what was happening and would almost skip through scenes without any depth for example the 4 main characters have a conversation about going to a arcade but then next scene tells you of them leaving so you miss the whole experience of the group bonding and potential to grow feelings between the characters by showing their different personalities and affection to each other.
I loved the concept of this book and the blurb made me intrigued enough to buy but I feel the author majorly missed the mark overall and although I enjoyed it, I feel with more detail and time this could have been taken from ok to amazing. Overall I enjoyed the book but I probably wouldn’t recommend it just because it felt like it was a let down from all that it promised.
This was certainly an interesting contemporary RH. The arranged marriage aspect was definitely different than anything else I've read and allows this story to hold its own against other RH. Although the guys knew about the arranged marriage and already had developed feelings for Hana based on stories they were told over the yeara, Hana went into this relationship knowing nothing at all about them. It was nice to not have a story where the characters instantly fell in love. Hana's feelings in this story developed gradually as she learned more about the guys and they each opened up with one another. It wasn't a walk in the park. There were a lot of issues that came up but that's what made this story more believable and authentic. The emotional scenes also tug on your heartstrings like you wouldn't believe. There are so many parts where you'll have your heart torn out, ripped to pieces, and then sewn back together. It's one of those good crying books that you'll want to reread again and again.
I'm not normally a fan of contemporary romance, however this book is fabulous!! I really enjoyed reading it and the character development is stunning. The scenes are very well written and keep you drawn in, and its definitely an emotional ride. The men are hot and for sure make for some super steamy scenes and I love the charter struggle and growth through exploring with her partner. It makes it more personal and allows for some real people struggles. Fantastic read and I can't wait to see what she does with the rest of the family .
It took a lot for me to get into this book. For me the plot started slow. Yes there were smexy times in the beginning but for the most part it was like reading a diary. But then about half way in it started getting interesting. So for those of you that are going to read this keep reading. It is worth it.
This book is different to others I have read. Hana has known she is to be married since she was little, her parents arranged it all. However Hana is now over 30 and doesn't want to wait anymore. She meets Markim and starts to fall in love, then her parents break the news that her husband is actually 3 husbands and they are visiting within weeks. What follows is the dilemma's she faces with Markim and her 'husbands' as they all learn about each other. How do they all get what they want? I enjoyed this as I learnt a lot about other cultures as well as reading about people falling in love.
