While I did enjoy the ride with Kittykat and her Aces and psycho assassin, It did take me a little bit longer than normal to read this book/ trilogy because certain parts of this book were slow and a bit redundant and predictable which cause me to become bored! But when it picks up it really picks up so all well that ends well right?
Anyway, I'm kinda happy that I've finished this book I just refused to put this trilogy on my not finished pile. (eye-roll)!!!
This book starts with Keira and Chase in Europe. It’s been months since Keira saw the Aces, but Chase has been helping them keep an eye on Keira’s father, spending half his time with them and half his time with Keira. When Keira gets a heads up that her father has put out a bounty on all the top tier of the Aces MC, including her former lovers, she gets herself back to the Nevada to help them before her father than can destroy anything else of her life.
Whilst Keira doesn’t want her men to die, she’s not yet ready to forgive them for the hurt they caused her when they doubted her loyalty. It’s going to a long hard slog before she’ll trust them again. However, being there is half the battle as far as Garrett, Brooks and Stone are concerned and Chase just wants his girl to be happy, no matter how that’s achieved.
This book is no different from the others in that it has large amounts of action, large quantities of hot sex and lots of violence. Keira and her men are all passionate, fiery people and they live life on the edge. It’s well written with interesting characters and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a satisfying end to a dark and complex series.
I love a reverse harem book, and I love a good dark romance or MC book. But this trilogy was just “okay” to me. Honestly I feel like the author was trying so hard to show Kiera as a bada$$ that she almost made the men seem weak. I mean these are 1 percenters, the worst of the worst when it comes to MCs, but every thing they did they defaulted to Kiera because they either didn’t know enough or weren’t as good as Kiera. I know Kiera is a bada$$, but we don’t have to paint the men as incompetent to prove that point. I mean she was gone for 6 months at one point and they got absolutely nothing done, but a soon as she gets back bada$$ Kiera figures it all out and makes a plan. I mean, I just can’t picture these mean as 1 percenters because they literally sit back and let Kiera handle all of the dirty work. Another thing that bothered me, the amount of times Kiera mentioned her “greedy pu$$y” 🙄 girl we got it out the first 10 times. And since when do women black out almost every time they orga$m? Idk, I laughed at some stuff, but I wasn’t a huge fan of Kiera. Also, there was a lot of repetition throughout the trilogy, for example: during several s*x scenes, Kiera mentioned something along the lines of “I’m not sure what poured out of my mouth” during an orga$m, and this same exact line was mentioned several times, as well as some other lines, it felt like the author couldn’t think of anything else to put there and change it up. LAST point, and idk why this bothered me so much lol but Kiera had talked about babies with her best friend, and then she brought it up to Garret later and when he responded, she says something like “you’re the second person to talk to me about this and y’all are crazy” girl 🤦🏼♀️ YOU brought it up. Again, that’s something small that most people probably didn’t pick up on but it bothered me because it basically felt like she was randomly fishing for Garret to tell her she would be a good mom if they ever chose to have kids. You’ll understand what I mean if you read it. Again, the storyline was decent, but Kiera was definitely not my favorite. I hate leaving a “bad” review because I’ve read other books by this author that I loved but this one was just a miss for me.
This book was everything I knew I wanted and so, so much more. The end to this trilogy of Keira's story was perfect in so many ways. My heart repaired itself and I cackled in glee as our got girl got the revenge she so sweetly deserved. Our guys, well they groveled all right. Not enough in my opinion but they spent several months in hell so I guess we'll give them a pass. The hot factor was at a solid 10/10 but there's a specific scene with Chase, Brooks and Keira that had me bursting into flames- it made my whole day!
The story itself was solid, fast paced and action packed. It wraps up the revenge portion while setting up the next story nicely. That's right people this is not The End for our kick a** lead and her hot guys. I am beyond excited this isn't goodbye.
I loved twisted and dark FMC’s and Kiera is just that. Then add in five amazing guys that will rip the world apart for her & help seek revenge. Kiera (aka The Cat) might seem weak to those that want to harm her but she is all claws and very fierce. Do not mess with the ones that she loves and calls family. You won’t hear her coming. Looking forward to continuing the next part. TW/18+ (RH/MMF scene) 4.25/stars.
A good conclusion to the trilogy. I think I was expecting more from the final showdown, but it did seem fitting to have some of it go down the way it did.
“I couldn’t bend Heaven, so I’m going to raise hell because how else do you kill a monster without being one?" — Enemy: An RH Motorcycle Club Romance by A.J. Macey
I did enjoy this series. Maybe at some point I’ll dive back into Keira’s world, but for now, this seems like a good point to leave the Aces behind. I did end up really enjoying all the guys, especially Ciar. And that’s the one I didn’t see coming.
Bangs, Bullets, Revenge, Forgiveness, Trust and Love. This book has it all as well as quick wit and plenty of sex. Kiara (FMC) and her guys - Chase, Garrett, Brooks and Stone are my favourite characters. I just loved this series so much. Yes its dark in places and it might not be a book for everyone but it definitely was for me. Absolutely Brilliant and the series got the ending it deserved
What a series ending! I'm honestly gonna miss this crew because Kiera was perfect and feisty until the end. Action packed, full of drama and shenanigans, along with plenty of romance (well, as romantic as a bunch of MC members can get), this was a series closer that did not disappoint. I was laughing so hard at some points I fell off my couch, and then the next minute one of the boys did something so sweet, I was crying. Emotional whiplash, sure, but definitely worth it. Thank you SO SO much, A.J., for bringing me Kiera and her boys. They were fantastic.
(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review)
I tried to finish the series, this was the last book but I just couldn’t. I understand her trauma and her hatred towards her father is a big part of the book but I think it’s brought up too often. There’s not enough story to balance it out.
There is going to be another series following these characters...maybe I’ll try to pick this back up...but I don’t know.
So I'm currently reading the 3rd book of this trilogy and I have to say the 2nd book and this 3rd book not once have the characters had an adult conversation about birth control. In the first book Garrett and brooks both wore condoms while chase didn't. I assumed because he and our fmc were in a long term relationship they'd already had that talk. But in the second book and now this one not once have any of the guys used a condom or said they got tested and were clean or even just ask the fmc if she's on birthcontrol. I get that this is a fictional book but I personally like when authors try to show in some way that the characters are adults who go about intimacy maturely because even though this book is 18+ doesn't mean that younger ones won't read it. So they need to see the mature way of thinking of intimacy and the possible concequences of not going about it in a safe way especially during the times we are living in. Anywho this doesn't detract from the story but it does in the rating I'll give it (I usually just deduct a point).
I'm 63% in at this point but I can't stop thinking about chases moment with brooks I wish we would of gotten their view not our fmc. We also haven't gotten a reaction from brooks about it or even a thought of it again. I hope it's mentioned or done again and I'm sitting here crossing my fingers on one with Garrett too xD.
Birthcontrol was finally mentioned but not until 65% in the third and final book .-. ...
At 69% she finally checks in with brooks like why she ain't checked before now?!?! But in the end it still wasn't the heart to heart I wanted nor did we find out his preferences or if he was fluid, atleast not yet but hopefully soon we shall know.
Another thing I've noticed as I read is that our fmc kinda becomes less and less kick butt and is no longer meticulous with her planning like I get it's different when a loved on is in danger but still she should be cutting off her emotions like she did in the first book not getting all forgetful. Idk that's just kinda been erking me cuz I loved loved loved the first book, the second book was ehh okay, but this third one so far has been better than the second but didn't meet the bar of the first.
I'd probably recommend this book if someone wanted to read a MC book. But it probably wouldn't be my first choice. So I'm giving the trilogy a 3.5 stars.
*******SPOILER ALERT BELOW
OK so in the end she blows her dad's mansion up but decides not to walk through like how did she know no other girls were locked down in there?!?! Yeah maybe rider might have done a walk through or he may of just rigged the outside up so that ending erks me lol. Also I never got the heart to heart I wanted nor the scene I wanted maybe in one of their future books then ....
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This trilogy pretty much had everything. Strong FMC, fun group of guys who adore her, good plot, lots of suspense, plenty of steam,
I was hesitant to read this trilogy because it was not available on Kindle Unlimited at the time I read it but after having spent the few dollars to get each book I am happy I did.
My complaints for the series overall are pretty minor. As stated in my review for the first of this trilogy: the described climate for Reno was way off. I did my best to ignore this aspect though.
The guys: Chase/Ciar LOVED this character. His relationship with Kiera was very authentic. Garrett He added a really interesting dynamic to the group since he and Kiera spent 6 years fighting each other. Brooks Good addition to the group although him falling for Kiera was pretty fast. Stone I could have done without Stone. I like a guy to resist the idea of sharing or who doesn't fall for the FMC right away but I never really felt like Stone had legitimate reason to feel like he was in love with Kiera.
This book also did contain some mild MM moments which felt extremely forced to me. The story would not have suffered without that aspect. Absolutely nothing wrong with MM but it just seemed thrown in here.
I’m normally a “devour as fast as I can” girl...but I just knew I needed to take my sweet time with Kiera in her men because boyyy was I not ready to let them go!
Kiera is so fierce and stuck by her take no shit attitude. I love how AJ allowed Kiera her struggles with the men but also allowed her vulnerability to peek through the cracks. She did a phenomenal job of conveying that it takes a special someone, or in the case “someones”, to break through her walls. When it comes to her men, she gave them a swift kick to the ass making them work for it, but eventually gave them the forgiveness and love they deserved. I would say sorry for the slight spoiler, but let’s be real. She didn’t have a choice but the forgive them!! I mean come on...they’re perfect.
Let’s just drool over the men for a moment here.
Brooks is so dominate and oh so sexy....but allowed his slight sub side shine through a little which by the way.... HOT🤤.
Garret. Jesus. Those tattoos and piercings about set my kindle on fire. One scene with him in particular couldn’t have been more well written or SO dang smokin hot.
Chase & Ciar? Two opposite but complimenting personalities. Aj did an AMAZING job of conveying their change without making it confusing. She handled these characters in particular so flawlessly. It truly was amazing to read and once again, smoking hot🔥
Lastly... our dear Stone. I loved the bit of backstory we were given on him in this book. It was nice to see him FINALLY open up to Kiera and show her how much he will give of himself to show her his love.
Overall, 5 out of 5 from me! The writing, transitions, world building, emotions, steam factor...character building... it was absolutely amazing and such a killer conclusion to this series! I was BEYOND thrilled when I read A.J.’s future works statement are the end! M
If you’re considering whether to continue with the series or if you haven’t started it yet, just one click because I promise you won’t be dissappointed😍
But this does conclude our girl getting her revenge with Dear old Dad. The MC guys have some groveling to do and Kiera is def making them work for it. While Chase/Ciar is happy with either situation as he’s in her good grace either way! 😂
This book was just as action packed as the other books! I would have loved some more character development and more steamy scenes but what the author has was still great!!! Plusss we get a group 😉😉 scene that was hot AF! 🥵
Kiara has been showing everyone since the series started what kind of girl she was, but I felt like this book really brought out all of Kiera’s greatest strengths. This is the end of the series but does not conclude Kiara’a story and I can’t wait to read more.
“No one f*cks with The Cat without some claw marks to remember me by.”
*Overall 4/5 *Series Overall 4.5/5 *Heat? 4/5 *First person POV *Light MMF in this one *RH Romance MFMMM *HES? Yes but continues on
❤️this review works for the whole series❤️ ▪︎Rival A.J. Macey . •Reverse harem /Gang/Mafia/Motorcycle Romance. . •Trigger warnings ⚠️ Please check ✔️ . Omg where to start with this series. A strong strong, sassy, feisty, badbutt female lead. Is she maybe over the top, Yes but in the best, best possible way. I am a huge simp for females who don't need anybody but themselves. We also know I'm an even bigger sucker for psychopaths. We have an assassin in this book, that kept me laughing out loud the entire book. I fell for him head over heels. Then add three alpha bikers, one which happens to be her stepbrother and we have my dream book series. This series is steamy, action packed, with betrayal, amazing reveals, trauma & murder. You will never get bored with this series but you have to have an open mind to the impossible and really let this book take over. Keira needs her revenge and will have you fuming mad for her to get it. This is definitely fast burn and steamy, steamy, steamy. Everything happens for a reason, each book you get deeper and deeper. Relationships get stronger, get tested and things really build. I absolutely love this series. I don't want to say to much because I always believe going in blind is the best way to experience a book. ❤️😘
Badass feisty FMC's are my jam so it's no surprise that I've loved this series!
I liked the MC's as well, with each having their own issues and hang ups to work through with their pasts and Keira.
I especially loved Chase/Ciar! Who doesn't love a giggly assassin with a growly dominant alter ego? I'm totally down for this type of character, give me more!!
The plot was well thought out and paced. I think a trilogy was the right amount of books for this particular story line, however I look forward to seeing more of these characters in the future. There must be so much material that could be used between assassins, the mob and an MC.
Keep them coming, I can't wait to see where else Keira and her men will go!
Where do I even begin? I have absolutely loved every second of this series. Yes there were times I screamed at my kindle, but only because I was so invested in these characters. This final book was an amazing conclusion to everything that the previous books have led up to. I laughed, cried, screamed, cheered, and also had to fan myself several times! Kiera finally gets her payback to the people that wronged her so badly growing up and it was emotional, kick a$$, and so very satisfying. This book wraps up this trilogy, but one of the best parts is there is more to come! I also need my own little assassin! They have truly stolen a little piece of my heart! Oh and the side characters are fabulous too! I need more of them as well! AJ you once again proved you are a word master!!
I loved this trilogy SO much! There’s so many different aspects to love. The characters are so awesome, I adored Chase/Ciar! Very cool to see an author write about DID! I was shocked and excited when I realized Chase had an altar.
Kiera is a strong female main character who has issues, and acknowledges that. The entire book you get snippets of her inner dialogue where she calls herself out (or calls you out for having judgy eyes)!
The supporting characters were also great. Jace was a solid villain, was not sad to see him go!
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for The Cat’s Crew, and I will cross my fingers for more MM action because WOWZERS!!!!
Hanging out in Europe with her little assassin Kiera hears that dear old daddio has put a hit out on the Aces. As much as she wishes she could just ignore it she has to accept she caught the feels and can't just leave them too it. So she heads back to the states to work out how to take out frankie and Jace all without getting too much attention from Agent Venry. Simple right? If those boys think her being back means all forgiven they've got another thing coming. They have to work their backsides off.
This conclusion to the Ace's trilogy is perfect. we hear more about kieras past and PTSD, learn more about new friends and of course get some kick ass action and ridiculously steamy scenes. After all, shes the Cat. She always gets what she wants
Kat’s avoiding dealing with the betrayal from her guys, and avoiding them, when she finds out there has been a hit ordered for them. She might be tempted to save them, but forgiveness is something they will need to work for. Kat is also determined to ruin and kill her father and his business. I like how fierce Kat is, - she confronts her past and challenges the guys. I loved that each guy had to seek forgiveness in their own way and it fit their relationships. Stone really surprised me in the book, and i really liked him in this book. This is the final book in the Ace’s series, but hopefully we will get to re-visit her and the crew!
Kiera bugged me this book- too much “future me problem” and shoving shit down deep. But then she agrees to marry them?? Yeah..no. Also the ending was very anticlimactic- she spent 5 years plotting revenge and that was it?! Boooo Chace/Ciar- my 100% fave that sexy little assassin.. Garrett- still a douche. Honestly how anyone puts up with his PMS mood swings should get a medal. There’s possible/alpha holes and then there’s Garrett- an insecure selfish prick Stone- still not my fave but he grew on me. Don’t really understand his dynamic and purpose to the group.. Brooks- yummy Pres and your service!
Wow this last book was amazing! The feelings, the pain, the forgiveness and the love. I get like I’ve been waiting for this book forever and it was better than I could have imagined. This was a perfect wrap up and a slight tease for the 2nd set of the series. I absolutely loved this series and the characters and I’m sad it’s wrapped up. I didn’t see that twist coming! I was on the edge of my seat and read straight through this amazing book. Some advice? Don’t start unless you know you can finish it because you won’t want to put down!
I love Keira and her guys!! Although I am a big fan of #whychoose, I am #teamchase/ciar all the way!! I love how he stuck with her and always was looking out for what was best for her, even if she didnt know it at the time. I think with how traumatic Keira's childhood was, it is a miracle she was able to form relationships with her guys. She has really grown since the first book, she seems more flexible and able to handle her emotions better. She still has her issues but I think that just makes her a more believable character.
Perfect. A perfect way to end things with a hint of more to come. I felt that the end (with frankie) was just a little bit anticlimactic, although the way everything was tied up was great. I was expecting more emotional anguish from Kiera, and was surprised by the way she kept burying it. Nevertheless, it was a great book and totally worth the excitement and impatience I felt waiting, counting down the days until the book was released.
Thank you for the amazing series, I look forward to more Aces books!
Well, maybe not finale after all (happy surprise). 5 stars are rare but couldn't find anything (and I mean anything) that would take that last star away. Great job author (especially when this type isn't even my go-to genre). Can't wait for the 3.5 to come out. And the best of all? Knowing we have a spin off series coming. I'm just giddy about that and even though it's projected release is a long time away, I'll be counting the days and checking in for that release date.
This was an enjoyable read. The MC was pretty kick ass she was not as annoying as some reviews say, I think she had just enough to make her a badass. Although some times she did come off a little frustrating lol. Her five main guys were all well written and came to life easily! I would love to read her best Bi*ch’s story tho! Had a great back story SOME TRIGGERS (not for me tho) and a great ending. Some authors will work you towards the ending and finish it within a few pages, not this one. It was just enough
I love the conclusion to this portion of Kiera's story. Obviously where the last book ended there was much to be done in this last book of the series. I'm glad that Kiera and her men were able to grow closer despite the issues. As far as the events of the story we all know what Kiera wanted - death of Frankie and the downfall of his empire. While knowing what was coming Macey did an amazing job of keeping you on your toes not knowing what was coming next. Im hoping this is not the last we see of these beloved characters!
