A republished collection of Borneo's Li Yongping, "Son of Borneo" and "Lazifu," this book is both old and new. The stories are old, but the added essays add depth that helps the reader understand more about Li's world. With all short story collections, there are some I enjoyed more than others. The two title stories were my favorite (I know, basic of me). Being a Nanyang writer, Li offers readers a look into the Sinophone sphere of literature that they may not be familiar with; I learned much. I enjoyed this and would recommend.
