Catching Phantoms: The Strange Case Of Martin Lumb. By Ian Taylor and Rosi Taylor

This is a well written, well researched book that begins on the Pennine Moors. An archaeological dig is abruptly interrupted by a death under mysterious circumstances. As rumours abound, there is talk of an ancient Celtic cult which appears to still be in existence and seems to implicate a series of stone heads and strange phantoms that walk the moors.

As more deaths occur, all under strange circumstances, Detective Sergeant Blackshaw and his fresh faced partner, Constable Martin Lumb are called in to investigate.
Lumb becomes more involved in the case in more ways than he could ever imagine and then, one day, he mysteriously disappears. Can Detective Blackshaw discover exactly what is going on? I´m not telling! You need to read this book to find out! I Highly Recommend it.

A strange spectre, historical relics & ancient rites feature strongly in this case of murder based around an archeological dig. The plot is clever & well drawn, with lively realistic characters that add to the true-to-life dialogue. I thoroughly enjoyed this as a holiday read & would recommend for both history lovers & those who love a good mystery.
