Love: A Forgotten Art

Rate this book
The way they met was unconventional, but it connected them in ways Dasani never expected. What should have been a single encounter turned into several. There was something about Prime that magnetized her to him…Egotistical, vain, and pompous, but confident, beautiful, charming, and eccentric. Prime didn’t have to exert his dominance for her to know who he was. Her submission to his energy came naturally.

He was what she needed.

Prime was the perfect name for someone like him; it was truly befitting. He carried himself as if he was of main importance and considered himself to be the best in quality. And yes, he was at the most successful peak of his life, and he exuded great strength and maturity. Now it was time to settle and findeth a wife. Unable to change the mistakes of the past, he looked forward to another chance at love and family. He believed he found it in Dasani.

She was divine and breathtaking. A chocolate goddess. A priceless piece of sculpted art. Dasani was quiet, hardworking, loving, nurturing, and a successful business owner. Prime admired her drive and passion, but he loathed the pain and hurt in her eyes. All he desired to do was be the man to remove her out of the darkness and place her in the light where she belonged.

She was what he wanted.

Sometimes, what we want, and need isn’t what’s best for us; nor is it best for the people in our lives that depend on us. After Prime learns that he and Dasani share a mutual loved one in their lives, Prime must make a choice: Dasani or the “loved” one. But Prime is used to having his way, and not having Dasani will be a problem. Will he be able to abandon the idea of love in order to salvage the broken relationship that stands in their way, or will he forfeit the opportunity to make amends and hold on to his Dasani?

Dasani and Prime meet in the most unconventional way. What was supposed to be a fling, or a one night stand turned in to so much more. This story was filled with plenty of plot twists and wow moments. I needed a chart to keep up with the characters, as far as who knew who. When I got to the ending my edges were completely gone. If you love Zino and Asad they are mentioned in this book as well, keyword being mentioned. This book was just what I needed to get me out of my reading funk!

Confused

Ok now I love reading anything from Ivy Symone ,but this one was really confusing at times don't get me wrong cause I couldn't put it down. The love these 2 shared held my attention throughout. What annoyed me was that at the end when all was revealed I was Smdh wandering what I missed so I went back to see this book was rushed I hope there’s a part 2 .

Love Life and Confusion

I knew Beanie was going to turn out to be Dasani child and the moment she confirmed she was adopted, I knew!!!…
Now let me run this back!!!…Prime had to be fine fine with a youthfulness to himself, especially if Cam was his daughter!!!…
This book definitely took me on a roller coaster ride, but I’m happy I was not left dizzy or confused!!!…
I was wondering when Cesar crazy tail was going to show and to have his eyes set on Grace lets me know he is truly looking for a was with the mafia & Abe!!!…
I love how Dasani got straight to point and walked away from Cam, with no excuses or explanation!!!…I’m glad I got me some Natalia’s in my corner!!!…I loved her and her personality!!!…
I can’t wait to see what is next because the drama is coming!!!…

Mmm?

I fell in love with the storyline. Like the idea of Prime and Dasani finding each other. But then the other details began to confuse me. I felt like it was rushed and Ivy just started adding things to give the story more suspense. For instance I thought I read that Camyrn had never seen her father? P was Poodah the whole time? Thought it was Prime. It was just a lot to take in.

This was just ok. It was too confusing to say anything different. It seemed rushed. I’m just hoping that the next release restores my faith.

Very good read.

Prime and Dasani., What an interesting love story. Dasini better known as Deuc
had childhood issues stemming from her childhood molestation by her stepfather Walt. I think that had a lot to die with her duke behavior. Her cousin,
Natavia was her best friend and was with her until the end. Prime was a character and he loved Dasani. Cam had some serious issues and was a whore.
This book had so many twist and turns. I liked Mama as she spoke her mind.
Both Dansani and Natavia loved her. I'm glad that there was a happy ending. Dasani was united with her daughter and it was after they spent time together
and liked each other. That last few pages with mention of Czar and Hooch watching the baby reveal party, who were they planning on kidnapping, was it Grace, Prime's relative. This author did a good job with this book.

Whew! The drama!!

This starts off with Dasani meeting a man named Prime in a sex club. She's nervous but determined to "get some" that night. They hit it off & Prime is determined to make her his. What neither of them know is they're already connected. In more ways than one.
He's being patient with her because she's told him that she has a fiancee & a child. So they're still seeing each other & growing closer and things are getting serious. Her people know she's seeing someone but have no clue who & she hasn't told.
Things get messy as their worlds seem to be getting closer. Some people aren't who you thought & some are worse than you could've imagined!
Ooh, did I mention Dasani is also a former dyke named Deuce?!

This was a good storyline, but it was very wordy and confusing from time to time. I found myself saying "wait a minute" a lot and having to flip back to get an understanding of what was going on. Hopefully, Ivy Symone will write a Part 2 and fill in the blanks and make thinks more clear. All and all, she is still one of my favorite authors, and the storyline was a good idea.

Whew Chile!

This book was intense! The mystery surrounding the identities played out in an even more unexpected way which left me 🤯 it made sense that Prime was more in the know but the reveals were still like WOW. Definitely had me all caught up trying to figure out how this was gonna play out.

The author did it again! What a twist!! And I love how she always insert characters from previous books without !along them part of the storyline. Easy read.

Good BUT....

The book was a solid good read and fairly entertaining. BUT the book is a short read and doesnt allow enough detail and content to understand the characters in depth. I like the Mancuso tie to Abe and Eli but it's been too long since I've read that series and didnt remember all the extra characters. Miss Ivy please take more time exploring the story instead of confusing us with a magnitude of characters that you're intentionally only revealing bits and pieces to build suspense. I mean who can really keep up with all the characters you've created along with their family line???? Frankly it's overwhelming and confusing. You opened way to many doors that you failed to address and close. There is nothing better than a simple well written romance with so much depth you can feel it in your soul! Sometimes less is really more but with that said...this book was a decent short read.

WOW

This book here definitely threw me for a loop. I was confused when I first started reading but as I continued with the book I thought I had it all figured out with a few suspicions (mainly who is "P"). Well I was wrong. So many twists and turns will have you scratching your head and thinking what is going on and who are these people. The connections they all have is mind blowing. I loved the character concept of Duece/Desani definitely my favorite. Camryn was a piece of work and just nasty. Didn't see that connection with her and Walt. Glad that Desani got her happy ending with a an added bonus in her life. Overall great read.

Good read

This was a good bok but I have definitely read better from this author. There were just too many characters in this book to start out with. It was really busy in the beginning it didn't hold my attention. It did pick up though and ended up being a good story. Desani made the best out I'd a bad situation. Walt needed to die because he was a slime ball. Prime was such a boss and he knew what he wanted and went after it. This was definitely a different kind of live story. Camryn was a thot and Prime knew it. She was really a lost girl trying to get her way.

All connected

I love who Ivy symone always connects her old characters with new. She never let them over shadows her new ones but gives you just enough. Dasani and prime story was so good. I kind of felt sorry for Cam. She was searching for acceptance and the men around her just kept making promises to get in her pants. I wish we could got the scene when walt was murder. Thank you for hinting about Grace finally getting a story and crazy eli. I can't wait

Soooo..

I’m going to be honest, from the jump I was hoping that this was going to somehow lead to the follow up for a book we’ve all been waiting for (I won’t spoil) which it did however, this seemed really rushed. While I appreciate the sneak preview, it was really drawn out and unnecessary. I predicted almost the whole book tbh! Please do not rush part two of you know what ivy, we all know what your capable of girl :)

🔥🔥 🔥🔥 🔥🔥 🔥

Man this book was so good. That ending and the secrets and bombs that were told had my mouth in the floor. Prime man I loved his confidence. It was on 10 at all times. Camryn kinda felt bad for her. Duece or Desani I should say flourished into a woman. She got everything she deserved. Loved this story from beginning to end. Great job

Ivy, Ivy, Ivy!!! You do this to me everytime. When I say, you are bomb. I mean just that. I was reading another book, and I took a break and got on Instagram. I saw that this dropped. I rushed to Amazon and got it. I couldn't wait to read it. This was all that and more. That epilogue lets you know what is coming next, and I can't wait.
