This book helped me make the leap from knowing some Japanese words to being able to have simple conversations in Japanese. After finishing Genk 1 and 2, the workbooks, and some courses on Memrise, I am around level N4. Good luck in your studies, this is a must-have!
This was a helpful supplement to the Genki textbook. This workbook gives the reader questions using new vocabulary and grammar lessons from each chapter. If you decide to use the Genki textbook, I also recommend the workbook!
Paired with the textbook, this workbook really reinforces the learning. It prepares you for N5 level knowledge and has a straightforward lesson plan that's easy to understand. Personally, I think this is the best textbook for self learners of Japanese.
This is a good starting point. Sit with a notebook and practice what you learn immediately. Use it with Anki or some flashcard app (or make your own flashcards).
The Genki 1 workbook is a great companion to the Genki 1 textbook. It mirrors the textbook exactly, so there is never any confusion on how to do certain exercises. I also appreciated the differing kinds of exercises: written, oral, and listening, which are necessary in order to learn a language as completely as possible through a textbook/workbook combination.
Covered 6 six chapters, but I didn't do all of the exercise. I'm certain by doing this book you will get some good training in grammar but I didn't had the time since I wrote my thesis parallel with the Japanese course.
But I have this workbook at home so I can do them when I have some free time, or if I just wanted to "repetera".
