Killian Silesia has dedicated his life to protecting the Tehrex Realm from demons, as well as, being the King of Fun. The nickname is appropriate, given he owns the realm's most popular nightclub, Confetti Too. His seat on the Dark Alliance council ensures the club is hidden from humans, yet safe for supernaturals. Killian's exposure to humans is entirely virtual as he is the computer expert in the realm, so he is entirely unprepared when a human enters his bar. He's captivated at first site and thrown off his game by the alluring female. The fact that he doesn't bother investigating where she came from proves disastrous, but he's too busy seducing her to consider the consequences. Has he found his Fated Mate, or a mole that could end supernaturals' secrecy once and for all?
Teagan Lewis accidentally discovers an unknown world of mythical creatures when she enters Confetti Too, and is further compelled to immerse herself in the intriguing yet dangerous realm. She meets the sexy owner, Killian, and can't resist his magical charm but as a malicious force takes hold, Teagan acts without conscious intent to learn every secret about the Dark Warriors, and its leader. Can she overcome the inner turmoil that threatens to expose the warriors and the Tehrex Realm? What price will be paid for succumbing to the sexy sorcerer?

The Tehrex Realm and Khoth is once again in the spotlight with a fast paced, thrill-a-minute, highly suspenseful story that rocks the readers’ world. The demon witch with a capital B has stepped up her game with a sneaky, underhanded move that has put a Fated Mating in dire straights and could give her the information that she needs to get to the children, if the ‘Dark Warrior Alliance’ can’t find a way to undo it. The fast pace if full of suspense and excitement that keeps readers holding their breath in anticipation of what will happen next in both Realms. In Khoth, Izzy is missing her family and getting herself into a bit of trouble when she find herself caught between friends, but she also has a few surprises in store for the better of Khoth and of course the dragons’ enemy is still causing mayhem with a few exciting battles.
And that’s not even mentioning the very suspenseful but delightfully passionate Fated Mating going on between Killian and Teagan that is if all they can circumvent the demons intentions which add lots of emotional turmoil and passion to this already energetic and gripping story.
Teagan was an interesting mate. I felt awful for what she went through as a child. However, being possessed was by far the worst think you could imagine. Not being able to move at times & not being able to control what you say. Yet, the worst has to be not remembering what you did the next day after meeting your fated mate. If Teagan hadn't been so strong than she wouldn't have been able to fight the compulsion at times. I felt so bad for Killian's for suspecting his mate was a spy. And believing she was under a spell. I thought for sure Teagan would be so mad that she wouldn't want to mate him & would run. However, Teagan proved me wrong. For a human she is super brave!
This KU library selection is about Killian, a sorcerer, Dark Alliance council member, computer whiz, and owner of Confetti Too, a bar for supes. When a human, Teagan, walks into Confetti Too with a vampire, Killian is instantly drawn to her, and the attraction seems mutual. But Teagan is full of questions, most of them about things she should know nothing about. Things that are deliberately kept secret from humans, for a very good reason. Events occurring in Koth with Izzy continue to play out simultaneously, their chapters interspersed with the Dark Warriors storyline.
I really like this series and I enjoyed Killian and Teagan's story, however there were a number of issues with the proof reading. Numerous typos and spelling mistakes and even one line which said Teagan raised his staff, which clearly should have been Killian. Having said the above the characters were believable (well for a PNR at least), and the plot was good. Switching between realms we are also keeping up with Izzy and her escapades in Khoth. enjoyable continuation of this series with a need for better editing and proofing.
This book had me on edge. I thought it was either a demon or a vampire that was controlling Teagan. When she couldn't remember stuff or couldn't stop herself from asking Killian and the other warriors, I figured evil had gotten to her somehow. Killian was going to do everything to make sure Teagan didn't leave him.
Maven Warrior: Dark Warrior Alliance Book 20 by Brenda Trim & Tami Julka. When sorcerer Killian and human Teagan meet it’s instant attraction and when they make love their mating makes appear but it’s soon apparent Teagan is under compulsion from a demon. Can they find a way to get rid of the compulsion?
Here are examples that take away from the story. She wanted to scream that a broken hear crippled you. “I wasn’t suggesting that we use her, but that doesn’t me we can’t set a trap.” This story would have been rated higher.
This is one of those series that just continues to amaze me. Each book is just a little better than the last. At #20 you would think they would become repetitive. Not a chance. This is Killian and Teagan's story. Killian is known as the King of Fun. He splits his time between running his club and his position as computer expert for the council. When he encounters a human female in his bar, he is not prepared for how quickly he is affected by her. Teagan is equally drawn to him, but she is definitely out of comfort zone amongst the supernaturals. Before the two make it much further than the introductions, you guessed it, all hell breaks loose. Just a normal day for the warriors. But the real shock comes when Killian realizes Teagan is his mate. His job will be to convince her to accept him. Easier said than done. Once again Crocell's evil will make an appearance. Her pawn this time, Teagan. Teagan has been experiencing bouts of memory loss. She has no idea how bad it's going to get. Will Killian and the warriors be able to help her and kill Crocell once and for all? Will he ever get to complete his mating without being a threat to his family? This was such an intense read. Action from the very beginning. The romance we have come to expect is just as strong. The love and loyalty amongst these characters never ceases to amaze me. Of course, back in Koth, Izzy's story is just getting started. Time passes differently there, and Izzy is growing up so fast. When her best friend Donavan shows up, she is overjoyed. But not everyone is as excited as she is. Friendships will be tested. While all might be going relatively well on Earth, things are just getting ready to 'explode' on Koth. A series unlike any other. It will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I laughed, cried and could not put it down. The wait for the next book will be a difficult one. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.
Greatly enjoyed this book. I read it in record time and now have to wait for the next one to find out what is going to happen with Izzy. I like the way the book had two parallel stories, only one of which is complete and the next one is sort of a cliff hanger.
This is Killian's story. His mate will walk into his club, but she is human and doesn't even understand how she knew about Confetti Too. Teagan didn't even know supernaturals existed until she met up with a vampire who overheard her talking about the supes only club. She seems to be having memory losses and then suddenly everything will come flooding back, only to disappear again. When she sees Killian for the first time she is sure he is why she is there, but how is that possible?
Meanwhile in Khoth, Izzy's best friend Donovan shows up in the realm with his parents and siblings. She is overjoyed that he is there and doesn't understand why her friend Troy doesn't seem to like Van at all. She wishes her mother was still there so she could talk to her about her feelings for Troy and Donovan. That will not be the only thing that she will have to discuss with her mother by the time the latest Civappu ceremony is over.
We are 20 books into this series and the editing/proof reading is still on the lower end. These aren't technical mistakes. These are simple errors like saying he instead of she or putting thoughts in quotations and then continuing the dialogue in the same sentence in more quotations. Starting out with a bracelet to be spelled and it being returned as a necklace. Truly simple errors that distract from the reading. I enjoy the story line, the characters and the world building but these minor (although they are minor, there are a ton of them) errors really do take away from the reading.
As in Trim and Julka's style this book is another Home run. The Dark Warrior's Alliance targets are Teagan and Killian. Killian finely gets his mate but in the most unlikely place. Teagan keeps looking for a bar she had no idea why. She's a human but the fact that supernaturals are alive and living didn't seem to bother her. There's a reason but finding out what it is will be a problem for Killian to figure out. Trim and Julka never get boring and always have some new twist. Can't wait for the next book.
This series just gets better and better. I absolutely enjoyed Killian & Teagan story. From page one I was hooked and I didn’t want their story too end. I can’t wait too see what happens with Izzy, it seems she may have too guys vying for her attention. Another great read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series too come out.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
It's not one of my favorites in the series, but it's a good read. progression in the on going story, with a couple of surprises, that have you wondering and looking forward to the next book in the series.
Some mixed subtleties on at least one of the characters leaves you wondering which direction the character will develop. Hopefully not predictably. The future books will be fun to read.
If I could give this a higher rating I would. From the first chapter to the last it kept you wanting more. I love this entire series, but there was something about Killian that made you love him unconditionally. You learn a lot about several characters. I can't wait for the next book. I promise you will love this book. The authors make you feel like you were actually there.
I enjoyed reading this book , it has a great storyline. There is lots of action, intrigue and the chemistry and interaction between the characters, Teagan and Killian is great. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I started with the first book in the series and 20 books later, I can't get enough of this series. I can hardly wait to start each book and go on to the next one. My only complaint is I wish that they were longer. The characters are fascinating and their world is both scary but I would love to visit them just to see how they live. The 21 st. book comes out soon and I can hardly wait.
Not sure nick name applies except for the fact he owns the club. Not exactly lighthearted tale. He is great and his mate is as well. Enjoyed story. Only confusing part was the set up idea. Should have edited some of it. Seemed like they forgot what the plan was and then few pages later discovered idea again.
As all of the Dark Warriors series are edge of your seat compelling, this one doesn't disappoint. Killian is stunned when his Fated One walks into his bar after hundreds of years hoping for her. However, something isn't quite right with her.
