It's just another day in Camelot, West Virginia, where the knights wear camouflage, the queens make a mean pitcher of sweet tea, and the once and future king has a slight case of amnesia.
Return to the kingdom in QUEEN'S GAMBIT, the third episode in an enchanting new cozy mystery series from NYT bestselling author Emma Jameson and heartland mystery author Cyn Mackley.
As Mayor Dreama Avalon and her hunky new police chief, Roy Pendragon, tackle the case of the late beauty queen, irrepressible Merle kicks off an old-fashioned country feud, putting Misty Avalon dead in the middle.
Amazon Kindle readers praise for CAMELOT WEST VIRGINIA:
But the episodes format is a waste of time unless you finish the story. I love the Lord Hetheridge series and look forward to more, but each book is a stand-alone. I've even read them twice. But am very disappointed in Camelot because I was finally getting into the characters and the story of this one before the plug was pulled. Waste of my time.
An absolutely fantastic update on the adventures unfolding in Camelot! I couldn’t put it down! This one is full of race to the finish plot points that will leave you looking forward to the next. So well done!
Don't expect any answers just a heap more questions
It is a good read but I hate that it stops midflow and leaves you wondering what is going on. A great plot but ......... We need the next book to find out more. Frankly wish I hadn't read this until the next book came out as it would have been a more rounded read. Our Arthurian theme is ongoing but is more in the background this time. We are more into the normal present here with the various interactions between the residents. The conflicts and of course the murder of our Gwendolyn. Who killed her is the main question as no-one really believes it was an accident or suicide. Especially with the break-in at the funeral home, the video camera, the thumb drive and the missing police chief. With Roy taking over as Chief and making our two female heroine's deputies can they throw any light on the matter?
I’m just not sure about the series. The installments are short, they come so far apart, I can barely remember what happened in the previous installments, and the characterizations are just a little over the top. By the time I get used to who everyone is, the way they talk, and the way they act, they discover something really big and then the story is over. It would be far more appealing if these installments came out once a month when you could still remember what happened last. It would also be nice to know the expected number of installments. Not sure if I will continue reading them.
Story line keeps getting better and better! I definitely do NOT like the installment concept!! I would prefer to read the entire book or shorter books which do NOT end with a cliffhanger! I was able to read first 3 chapters all at once. I find it disappointing that I must wait an indefinite time for chapter 4. Do not know if I will even bother to read if---- extremely disappointing!!
It was mostly funny the characters were well developed. I have not read the earlier books and didn’t understand a lot of the story. The setting was not very believable, I hope that it was story fiction not reality. I bought the book because I enjoy Ms Jamesons writing so I was a little disappointed but I would like to see how the story progreees so I will buy the rest.
Yet another great installment to the Camelot series! I loved getting drawn back in to the mystery of Camelot and to the characters that seem like old friends. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for the next installment. I cannot stress how much I love love love this series! Yet again you've knocked it out of the park Cyn and Emma!!!! I will be waiting for my next fix of this story!
