Review - This was such a fun collection of stories. Loved all the guys from Sunnydale office. I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed it.
1 - Dog Days of Summer - Beau, Patrick - I love these two and how they just connect with each other without knowing who they are. You also get to see that Beau has to figure things out. Glad that things worked out for them. 2 - Like Cats and Dogs - Ronan, Oliver - This story has the familiar enemies to lovers trope. There was such a quick connection but it works so well for the characters. 3 - Cat's Got My Tongue - River and Weston. - Your past really does have an effect on your present and in this story we see how bullying in the past has an impact on both the bully and the one who was bullied. I liked the way this story develops and how both of these men have to really think about what they see going forward. 4 - Cat and Mouse - Zayden, Elliott - There is humor in the this story when life gets out of hand a little lie blows up. It was great to see these two give each other a chance and find a way to move forward. 5 - Horse of a Different Color - Kohen, Archer - I loved the sweetness between these two and was so glad Archer got a story. There are moments in this story that caused some tears but the ending is perfect for these two men. 6 - When the Cat's Away - Andre, Jude - This was a great second chance romance. I love the way these two really reconnect but they have to figure things out so they can move forward. This was a really sweet new beginning. 7 - Barking Up the Right Tree - Jett, Korbin - This story is really a great rom-com where a relationship gets started only to find out there is an unexpected connections. Of course the reader sees how things are going so it just adds to the fun.
These were fun little stories. Some awkwardness with younger couples behaving like adults, but overall good. Biggest complaint is the “southern” accent given to one of the characters. “Y’all” is not a replacement for you, your, or you’re among Southerners or Texans (and yes, they’re different). Y’all means you all, a group or gathering of people that you’re addressing. If you’re going to use it, ask people how to use it if not sure. Ruined that whole story for me.
I overall really enjoyed all of these books. There was light drama with a lot of fun. I liked that all of the books had different story lines even though it always circled back to Sunnydale Vets. My favorite book of this series was Book #5 - Horse of a Different Color, I absolutely fell in love with Archer & Kohen💖 They were my favorite relationship out of the group! Shout out to Guillaume Dubois, he did an awesome job narrating and really gave each of the characters personality. He completely brought these books to life.
I love these books and having them all together is wonderful. These books have all the feels. There's something for everyone, brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, second chances, instalove, age gap, son's best friend. I love how they all revolve around the veterinarians at the local veterinary clinic, which is well named by the way. I highly recommend this bundle and if you enjoy audio books this bundle is well worth the listen.
While the stories were cute this was not favorite series. I do work at a vet and somethings while it being fiction just bugged me and took me out of the story. I almost wish one of the vets would have I call a hard say when we lose any patient but especially a patient we have grown so close to and how you cope going back to work and still wanting to help despite the hardships sometimes. If you want a happy place visit this is totally your series.
Dog Days of Summer: LoL, very nice!Beau heard a lot about his brother's friend Trick which he did not like. He was prepared to really not like him. Patrick, wheelchair bound brought his service dog, Pepper into the surgery. Beau was intrigued and attracted to Patrick. Imagine his surprise when he realized he was liking Trick. Time to rethink preconceived perceptions? Can Beau bend more and open his heart to Trick? Good story, good introductory to the series.
Like Cats and Dogs: Delicious! This is a nice story about love sought then love found. Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to find what you seek. Ronan left the big city looking for his happy. Oliver is a dedicated hardworking Vet who felt his comfort zone was threatened, so he fought back. Who knew the enemy was a friend? During the disagreement, Ronan and Oliver got close. The spectre that Ronan may not stay hung over the relationship. Can Ronan settle in the small city? Can Ronan and Oliver find the middle ground? Will Ronan stay or go? Very nice romantic story.
Cat's Got My Tongue: Grabs your heart, then lets you sigh in peace. Weston, an atypicalAlpha, a recent high school graduate has been traumatized by his bullying at school. River, Omega jock, completing his freshman year of college, went through a self awareness process launching him to a point where he recognizes past bullying behavior as bad. He attempts to make amends to everyone he harmed. How absolutely mature that he recognizes his victims may need the closure to be able to move on with their lives. During an animal emergency, he meets Weston who may have been the most traumatized of all his victims. Weston wants nothing to do with him. So, what will River do? Will he let initial rejection defeat him? Will Weston get to a point where he can listen? What kind of friends will they make? This was an absolutely feel good, delightful complicated, continuous improvement feel good story. Well done!
Cat and Mouse: When you do horizontal Tango and enjoy it, always exchange digits! Elliott, Omega, country vet starting at Sunnydale meets Zayden, Alpha working at a big city veterinary hospital. They meet at the conference and have instanat lust. They hookup for a couple of days, having one accident which they ignore. They forget to exchange digits when they return to their respective homes. Elliott returns home and 'then', they think. Elliott has a flexible creative explanation for his pregnancy. Does Elliot want to find Zayden? Without exchanging digits, how will that happen? Will Elliott like his new job? Nice story. Happy to reconnect with prior characters. A longer story would have been nice. I would have liked to know about the background of the characters. Great story. Mr Bates can't write a bad story. Cover art is amazing!
Horse of a Different Color: You can feel the love and passion. Going slow creates a tsunami buildup. Archer, Vet, Omega longs for a partner with whom he can share a family. Kohen, rancher, Alpha longs for a partner with whom he can share a family. Pa is Kohen's widower Alpha dad who is an absolute hoot!Archer made a house call to tend Kohen's horse. They had a struck by lightening moment and started a slow molassas courtship. Kohen is dragging major luggage. Archer is a confident Omega who knows what he wants. Their journey is sweet, sexy and fulfilling. Major decisions need to be made. Choices come that could mean the end of the beginning. This is a story that grabs you by the heart, squeezes, pumps and leaves you feeling good. Well done! Nice series cover art.
Barking Up The Right Tree: But I thought! But you were! But I thought! Korbin, Omega Veteranarian, newest and youngest member of SunnyDale felt he had a lot to prove. Jett, Alpha, divorcedc contractor renovating SunnyDale and adding large animal wing over the holidays. Jett's son Braydon suddenly decided to leave school and come work for his dad. Jett grateful his son is coming back home to work wiht him, hoping for a chance to get to know each other. BTW, Brayden and Korbin are best friends. No names are mentioned and Korbin and Jett meet, are attracted and start an intimate relationship. What happens when they realize who they all are? How will that happen? Will it be funny, devestating or just a moment? I like Jett he is strong where he needs to be strong; gentle when he needs to be gentle; sexy because he just can't help it and loyal to a fault. Brayden is an entitled brat, but he's still learning and a good friend and son. Korbin seems like a nice guy and not shy about what he wants. Absolutely delightful. We got to see how all the other couples and their families are doing. Nicely done!
When The Cat's Away: When everything is not as it seems. Andre and Jude were in a relationship, and then they weren't! Andre, the baby of his family thought he was on track to be married with children. Then his boyfriend, Jude suddenly left with no work, no hint there were problems. Then after a few years, Jude returns. Does he expect to just pick up where he left off? Will he go to Andre and apologize? Will Andre give Jude a chance to explain? The character are strong. You initially feel you need to take sides, then you don't. Good story. Excellent characters. You hope they can get it right. Excellent series!
I truly loved Sunnydale Vets. It was a huge family type book where everyone in the small town knows everyone else and the new people that come in, are often vets but not always and they meet people that are just their perfect cup of tea! Delicious! There are some smexy scenes. Read many Mpregs. Love this one! ❤
this is a good series but lacks the depth of the other i read by this author. the books don't have a lot of overlap of characters even though they're in the same office. if you're looking for an interesting meet cute, steamy heat, and a quick hea, each of the books in this series will deliver.
I wasn't a fan of book 2 but all the others I would rate 4 stars and the last book was the best which I rated 5 stars. They are all quick stories and very sweet. Even though it's labeled as mpreg, all the books barely mention it. Most just at the very end as a future plan type of thing. The last book you actually get a bit more of it.
Dog Days of Summer 4.5 stars. Beau lives a life of fear, he's sure if he can just plan every detail that things will be perfect; nothing bad will happen, no unhappy surprises, no broken heart. He cares for the people around him and his patients. Patrick is spontaneous and independent. He doesn't see his wheelchair as a hindrance or reason to hide. I liked how he doesn't hold back when things get out of sorts between them. He asks questions and demands answers. He's also insightful. He understands how Beau's anxiety-filled mind works and gives him time to process and think it all through, but not too much time. The ending is lovely.
Like Cats and Dogs 5 Stars. This second book in the Sunnydale Vets series was a nice followup to Dog Days of Summer. I like Ronan's sunny disposition, he is genuinely a nice guy that gets along with everyone. It really surprised him to be met with all the hostility from Oliver. Oliver has preconceived notions and is sure that Ronan is going to make his life difficult. He's also unsure of whether or not he's appreciated. He even questions if he's even wanted at the clinic. All that anxiety is directed at Ronan and sparks fly. Once their anger gives way to passion it begins to turn around. I really liked Oliver once he let go of his attitude and saw Ronan for the great guy he was. Ronan struggled with what he wanted. There's really no choice once he looks into his heart and found that wherever Oliver was is where he'd find home. The ending is superb.
Cat’s Got My Tongue 4.5 stars! River is trying to make amends for his past. He has had a year away at college and I liked that he's recognized his bullying and decided to become a better man. He's determined to apologize if only Weston will give him a chance. Weston carries a lot of pain and anger from his treatment at school by River and his friends. What struck me first is how very young both of these guys are. Weston has just graduated high school and River has only put in one year at college. Both are growing up, parts of them are mature and other parts are still not. River's persistence with Weston, his sincere desire to fix his mistakes made him a good guy. I liked that Weston's determined to pursue his dreams without giving up on them as a couple. Even though things didn't work out for them exactly as they planned, River does what is best for Weston to accomplish his dreams.
Cat and Mouse 4 Stars. Zayden was terrific. He was sweet, giving and truly wanted to be there for Elliott. I loved that he kept giving Elliott the reigns in their relationship. Whatever Elliott needed Zayden was willing to hand him on a platter. I have to say that I did not like Elliott for most of the book. He is so afraid of being judged that he keeps running away from Zayden and everything he is being offered, lying to everyone and generally making a mess of his own happiness. His hot and cold attitude gave me whiplash. It wasn’t until the end of the book when, once again, Zayden gave him a choice about his status in their relationship that Elliott finally is willing to embrace Zayden’s love and support. Once Elliott felt secure he blossomed into a great guy. I just wished we got to see more of that. Horse of a Different Color 5 Stars. I loved Archer's feisty spirit and Kohen just a sweetheart! I understood Archer's desire to return home to Texas and his family. He doesn't feel like he fits in. Kohen doesn't feel like he fits either but his reasons are his self-perception. Kohen's dad Duke is a hoot. The man has no filter. I liked that after a big fight, both guys sincerely apologize and forgive quickly.
When the Cat’s Away 5 Stars. Love lost and found again brings this one in for a win. Jude was too young, too unsure of himself and had too much pressure on his shoulders. The expectations made him run. I could feel his guilt and I could also feel the anxiety and frustration as he revealed the reasons why. Andre hasn't recovered from the loss of Jude. His pain came through loud and clear. I admired his strength as he allowed Jude to explain, gave him a chance to apologize and gave himself time to evaluate his own feelings. Mostly I admired that he saw that their relationship wasn't going to work without Jude forgiving himself. Jude's fervent commitment to be there for Andre, even if it was only in friendship made me like him. His determination to prove to Andre that he was not leaving but pursuing him at Andre's pace made me cheer even harder for him.
Barking Up the Right Tree 5 Stars. I really loved this May/December romance. The burn is super slow, and the angst is low. Jett is a super guy and his desire to fix up his relationship with his son makes him even better. Korbin wants to prove himself at work, being the youngest vet on staff has him eager to impress. I liked that while initially, these guys felt the other out of reach due to age, once they connected it wasn't an issue. Jett's son Brayden was a great side character, giving Jett and Korbin both added depth. My only wish was that Brayden would've opened up to his dad about what was bothering him as he did with Korbin. My favorite part was seeing all the guys from previous books together with their families at the end.
This was my FIRST EVERRR MPREG Book/Series/Bundle and I gotta say I was unsure, but honestly I LOVED each&every one of these stories. Too bad anatomy isn't as the story shows, that would be wonderful.
Great series! Overall 4 out of 5 stars Performance 4 out of 5 stars Story 4 out of 5 stars Reviewed: 01-29-20
I enjoyed all of these books and was happy to listen to them again. I love the narrator and characters! Wish there were more Sunnydale Vets for more stories!! <3
This bundle was an awesome read. So much love involved making it just a great bunch of guys falling g in love, having all those babies and lovely lives. As you an guess I definitely recommend this bundle 100%. Enjoy!!
Sunnydale Vets is a collection of romance stories that will tug at your heart strings. I thunk the place must be magical. How else could everyone end up with happily ever after? Love them all!
I loved this series from start to finish. Many I read in just a single day because I simply loved the characters and story that I just had to finish. Ohhhhh and all the babies!!! Loved it.
A series of seven MM romances set around Sunnydale Veterinary Clinic. The seven titles in this box set are - Dog Days of Summer During the summer break Patrick agrees to visit his friend Travis in Devon his home town. He decides to go earlier and spend time looking around and being in a wheelchair with a service dog he needs to ensure the arrangements are suitable. When he gets to the motel he and Pepper head to the shops to buy some supply like dog food. As they return to the motel Pepper is hit by a vehicle and Patrick rushes to the nearest Vets with the help of the car owner. There he meets Beau Thompson and the two are attracted but they are unaware that they are Travis' best friend and his brother. Like Cats and Dogs Omega Oliver had started at what was now Sunnydale Vets as a volunteer when young and was now a senior vet who was in charge of scheduling the practice day to day running. When Alpha Ronan come to the practice from New York he seem to be set on undermining the way Oliver does his job and from day one they start to clash as Ronan does one thing after another to irritate Oliver. Cats Got My Tongue Omega River had been unusual in high school as he was good at sports and tended to run with the Jocks including being nasty to the geeks and nerds one of whom was Alpha Weston. After a year away he has come to realize his behaviour had been wrong and on returning he had tried to apologize to those he had insulted. Weston he catches up with when his sister's cat Almond eats something she should not have had and gets sick. Cat and Mouse Omega Elliott has just graduated veterinary college and attends a conference and on the first day meets Alpha Zayden and they spend the evening together. They meet up again on the last evening and end up in Zayden's room but know Zayden is local to Chicago and Elliott is heading to start a job in Ohio. Elliott finds his new job is all that he wants but four months later finds out he is pregnant. A week after the conference Zayden tries looking for Elliott but could not remember his surname so he comes to a dead end. Horse of a Different Color Vet Omega Archer was fed up just dealing with pets as his real interest is large animals plus he is missing his family so is considering moving back to Texas. Then when covering a later shift he gets called out to attend an injured horse and meets owner good looking Alpha Kohen. Both feel an attraction but are wary but Archer agrees to come back and go for a ride around the ranch a few days later. When the Cats Away Andre has been in a bad place since his boyfriend Jude broke up with him then left town without saying goodbye two years before. He is spending the summer acting as manny to his nephew and often visit the bakery owned by Jude's parents. Jude has spent two years in a big city with no friend and unable to settle down now he has decided to return home. Andre takes his nephew Haydon to the park and a while he is shocked to see Jude standing outside the park.
Barking Up the Right Tree Omega Vet Korbin heads for the store after bathing the huge dog that was a rescued one and having the bath plughole getting bunged up with hair. At the checkout an older Alpha suggests only getting one of the products and use a wire hanger to clear out the hair. The he get a call from his best friend who has just returned to Devon asking him out for a drink where Brayden talks of how awkward it is interacting with his Alpha Father. Alpha Jett talks to the beautiful omega at the store then goes home to greet his son who will be staying and working with him learning the construction trade.

Dog Days of Summer Beau must have a plan for everything and everything must be in its proper place and time. Patrick lives his life a lot less organized. Beau must decide if he will take a chance on a stranger visiting town. As the reader, we know an extra bit of information on Patrick's identity that will blow Beau away. Such a fun read!
Like Cats and Dogs Ronan needs time to decompress and have more in his life than work. Helping at Devon is a temporary solution. Oliver is the Supervisor at the clinic and feels overlooked by his bosses and their newest hire sends him over the edge. Both men are driven. This causes them to bump heads. Ronan being extremely likable also irritates Oliver
Cat's Got My Tongue River's first year away at college mad him realize just how terrible a bully he was in high school. He is determined to apologize and make amends to everyone he bullied. Weston spent the year after high school interning at Sunnydale and preparing to attend veterinary school. River's bullying really affected his confidence, and he never wants to see him again. A cute enemies to lovers read. Both are very young and are only now trying to decide their paths in life.
Cat and Mouse Elliot finds himself acting out of character when he is with Zayden. He never expects to see him again, and his later indecisions and hesitations may cost him any further connections. Zayden does not expect the feelings he has for Elliot, but their relationship is not progressing normally and neither know if there is anything between them besides the physical. Eliot gets himself in some trouble not knowing how to explain his situation at a new job. An enjoyable read.
Horse of a Different Color Austin's career has not turned out like he imagined, he misses his family, and has no one to date. Meeting Kohen at a call to his place just may change his mind. Kohen is a sweet and smart Alpha but not very self assured. Austin opens his mouth before thinking about what he is going to say.
When the Cat's Away 5* A wonderful second chance for Andre and Jude. They were high school sweethearts, but Jude broke under the pressure and lack of communication to his family and Andre. Haydon is absolutely adorable. I enjoyed reading their story and trying to reopen the past and new communication.
Barking Up the Right Tree 5* Jett is wonderful and trying to be his best, the way he knows how. His Omega ex is a lying drunk whom he tried to please for too long. I do not know why he's is paying alimony when his ex is rich. Korbin is adorable and a great balance to Jett. Here's son, Brayden, is a different matter and beyond frustrating. Brayden is a nightmare of a spoiled child, even though he is way too old for his immaturity. I hoped he would not believe so much poison told by his Omega father about his Alpha father.

I read most of these books as they came out, and it is great to have them all in one boxed set! All around 5 star read with great characters. Here is a sample of some of the individual books and why I liked them.
Dog Days of Summer This is a great start to a new series. I loved the characters, and especially Patrick's (Trick) zest for life. In spite of (or maybe because of) a car accident in his youth that left him disabled, he has a no holds barred approach to life. Beau, on the other hand, is a rigid, stoic, very in-control guy. When he and Trick come together, it is like the ocean waves crashing on a rocky shore, as Patrick erodes Beau's resistance. This is a sweet, funny, pretty low-angst story.
Cat's Got My Tongue I really enjoyed this sweet, feel good story. I liked the depiction of the character River as growing up, maturing, and becoming aware of the bullying he did in the past, and being bold and considerate enough to try to make amends. In a twist on the usual alpha/omega dynamic, River is actually the omega, and the man he bullied, Weston, is an alpha. I liked that little twist. Usually, I read about alpha-holes who terrorize omegas, betas, or other alphas, so this was an interesting turn. Great characters and another great story in this series.
Cat and Mouse This is an enjoyable story about two vets, a hook-up, a broken condom, and unexpected consequences. There is a little drama and emotion, but mostly it's pretty low angst. I liked the new characters, and it was fun to see the guys from the preceding books again.
Barking up the Right Tree I enjoyed the relationship between Jett and Korbin. They get over the their age difference, but then discover Jett's son is Korbin's best friend. *Awkward* The resulting shock isn't too severe, and eventually it all works out where everyone is happy. I love the low angst approach. Let love decide your path. I really enjoyed seeing the couples from the preceding books again. This is a fun, feel-good series.

I listened to this book at 1.45 Author: Austin Bates Plot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars Story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars & why. Kind of believable except for the fact that there are that many gay vets working at the same small small town office. And it's a omega story line. Males giving birth. Heat. 🔥🔥flames Narrator.: Guilliaume Dubois Betrayal of the story. 🥈 Silver. why: Needs work on more voices. Some were real good and others sounded like he was drowning. Over all 4 stars.

It was my first contact with this author, but it won't be the last one. I really liked his writing style!
This bundle contains 7 lovely stories about friendship and love. They are all quite short and can be read separately which makes them perfect summer read. They are all sweet love stories with likable, cute characters and adorable pets. All stories are super sweet insta-love type, but the chemistry between MCs is always great and they spend some time to get to know each other so it is fine. What I really like is that there is (almost) no angst, even when MCs have some problems or insecurities they always talk it out so everything can be good again. There are hot sex scenes, lots of feelings and LOTS of FUN!
This series was just perfect. Love animals and sexy m/m, you can not miss this series. Austin Bates has done a great job with this series, the characters are so amazing, and so caring, yet they have their flaws when trying to find and keep their perfect love story. All the stories held me throughout. I had read a few of them prior to the release of the series together, and that just made it that much better to keep reading and following the vets and the people associated with the Sunnydale animal hospital. Dale and Sunny are the perfect owners of the clinic and great bosses and friends. The backdrop is the Animal hospital but each story follows a couple through their ups and downs to their HEA. I loved that all the characters are at least mentioned in all the books.

I felt like I missed a prequel that explained how Sunny and Dale had gotten together and bought a veterinary practice from a small-town veterinarian who was ready to retire.
That all figured heavily into Beau's thoughts, and I got the impression that this was something a reader might already have been familiar with. I'm not sure why Beau feels that everything needs to be planned and that he needs to be a stern parent to his younger brother. The two brothers have parents who are far more laid-back than Beau is, and it seems to be a loving family. It was like something happened to Beau to make him very rigid and obsessive about controlling situations.
I'm short on time right now, but I'll go through the other books in the series with my thoughts on the characters and subject matter.

***I received an advanced reader's copy of the series and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Super sexy and steamy m/m romance super seven pack! The good, the bad, and the babies at Sunnydale Veterinary Hospital!
These gentlemen share a love for animals, their jobs and their families- and the folks from the Sunnydale team are part and parcel members of their families.
As they are building their expanded facilities, the statement was apt that they really need to add a daycare with the number of babies they have also been adding.
Sweet, steamy, a bit awkward and a lot touching and hilarious!

I liked not only the stories but I was attracted to the titles and the way they connected all of the books in the series to the vets that are in a way at the center of this series. The couples each go through their own journey to one another and each story is enjoyable on its own. There is an overall sweetness and lots of humor in this series even though there are difficult moments for some of the couples. My favorite of the stories was When the Cat's Away, but I enjoyed them all. I am so glad to have them as a collection and even though I got an ARC of this boxed set, I bought it as well.
