Hannah Hickok #4

The Monstrous Seven

Rate this book
Life is going well for Hannah Hickok. Her business – a cosplay western town in Kentucky – is thriving and she’s even interviewing bartenders so she can finally take on different duties in her new world. All that comes to a screeching halt when a guest grabs what’s supposed to be a prop gun and fires it at another guest during an altercation.
Suddenly, death is calling in Casper Creek … and it’s wearing many masks.
Hannah is thrown by the brutality of the action. She’s also confused why her boyfriend Cooper Wyatt was acting out of sorts right before it happened. The questions about exactly what happened are only compounded when the coroner comes back with a shocking report: There was no bullet found in the body and the manner of death is undetermined.
In short order, an FBI agent is put in charge of the case, Casper Creek is shut down, and Hannah and Cooper are plunged into a sundry world of magical creatures with death and destruction on the brain. Thanks to a tip from local witch Astra, Hannah soon realizes she’s grappling with something bigger than she’s ever dealt with before … and it will be seven times as deadly.
War is coming. Hannah’s magic is still a work in progress but she’s going to be put through the paces on this one. She has a new family. It will be up to her to save them when magical forces collide
Is she up to the challenge?

Extraordinarily entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

Extraordinarily entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and then especially entertaining storyline. A young woman who thought life was all going great. Ends up finding out that her life is in a shambles. Her boyfriend/fiancé is cheating on her and she loses her job. In life is in the toilet. She receives a letter from a lawyer letting her know that she has inherited her grandmothers property. She didn’t even know about her grandmother it had not even remembered ever meeting her. She inherits her grandmothers western theme town on top of a mountain top in a southern town. She gets there and soon find out that she’s actually a witch. Things start to happen her power start to show up and she soon find out the Western theme town actually sits on very magical land. Forces are out to try and swindle it take it steal it away from her. Follow along as different things happen. Different supernatural beings show up and cause issues. Other which is cause issues. On occasion just bad people show up and cause issues. A very entertaining and eclectic cast of characters help solve the magical mysteries and problems around town. Very entertaining check it out

Too weird!!

When an argument breaks out between visitors at the end of a long day, things feel just a bit off to Hannah, especially when Cooper appears to go all alphamale and all but join in along with Jake who's rounding up the stragglers. Hannah steps in which cools Cooper down but then one of the guests grabs Jake's gun and fires it directly at the other.. now they are dealing with a body.. one that should by all accounts have a gunshot wound but despite the blood the coroner finds nothing.

Hannah caught sight of a strange man dancing with glee as the men argued.. she's pretty sure he's somehow involved as he "poofed" himself away when he realised Hannah was watching..

Who is the mystery dancing man? And why is Astra being helpful when Hannah asks her advice?

My only concern is just how easily Hannah appeared to deal with the situation.. felt a bit rushed and too easy.. even the what do we do next was too convenient.. sorry but it needs a little something fixed to put it back on track as a five star read..

Hannah’s up against it again.

The seven deadly sins are turning up in and around Casper Creek, there’s this big magical event happening which has drawn the sins to the theme park Hannah owns and operates ——- with the help of Connor her boyfriend and head of security at the park. Events start getting dangerous when a fight breaks out (at closing time) which results in a mans death. Now the parks in trouble, it’s been closed down while the death is investigated and depending on the findings Hannah may be facing a lawsuit which would result in her being unable to maintain the park. It’s important they find answers and a solution quickly. Hannah’s magic may not be enough to save them this time.

Another great story with great characters! Hannah and Cooper are growing closer together as she figures out her increasing powers. Fun to see how the family they have made for themselves comes together to help fight the latest fight. The storyline is entertaining, the cast of characters are developing and interact in real and funny ways. Looking forward to Hannah and Cooper continuing with mor adventures and romance!

Hannah is a Badass!

I love Hannah and Cooper and their new relationship. Astra is a likeable villain and unlike all the other books with the girl enemy she actually is helpful. Tyler is also different than all of Amanda/Lily's gay bestfriend counterparts as he is more masculine and down to earth. All in all the story was well written and very entertaining. I cant wait for the next!

Love this western town!

How can you not love an old western town that you take a ski lift to get to? Poor Hannah always has something go wrong and they are usually targeting her in the end. Cooper is so in love, you’ll laugh at his antics. I love that the sheriff is in the know and actually helps out, it’s different and makes the series even better.

Good series!

This is an enjoyable storyline about a newly discovered witch in a western theme park setting. Hannah is learning to use her powers and run the theme park she inherited. The characters are well developed and likeable. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. Can't wait for the next installment!

Loved

Loved the book, but that subject matter (bad guy) has always been interesting. Noticed a couple tiny inconsistencies but they didn't take away from my enjoyment. I recommend all her series' and those under Amanda M Lee.

Some minor violence, sexual situations, but no noticed language.

An interesting read

I enjoyed reading this story, but finding know if I enjoyed it more because I just finished watching something about the 7 deadly sins of just the story itself, or maybe both. Either way it was a fun read and I enjoyed spending my afternoon with Hannah and the gang. I look forward to more magic and mayhem in the future.

Hannah Hickok rocks !

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves magical romances, with heros and heroines that do not always agree. This is another really good book, with twists and turns that keep you interested. There is plenty of magic, and the characters are fun and realistic.

Great addition to the series

I am a fan of Hannah and Cooper. I was delighted to see her power, although lacking a bit in detail, come to the surface more. I want to know everything Hannah can do, as I'm sure she does as well. I am looking forward to the next book. Hopefully more development with her witch side and little less crisis.

Book 4

Hannah needs another bartender for the Saloon, so she and the head of security finally finish interviewing. They've got a winner!
A "prop" gun that was supposed to be loaded with fake ammunition isn't (or is it?) And a visitor to the complex dies. But what is the real verdict of the coroner?

I adore this series and loved everything about this installment! The plot is unique and felt fresh. It's such an interesting take, and I enjoyed how it played out. There were definitely twists I didn't see coming. As for the romance, it keeps getting better and better. I just adore Hannah and Cooper, and they are perfection in this story. Can't wait for #5!

Better and Better

My enjoyment of a series always increases as the series goes on, the characters strengthen, and unity within the group increases. Maybe because I’m a happily ever after type. Anyway, Hannah really begins to own it in this story. She’s getting so strong! And you won’t believe who they’re up against. I won’t spoil it for you. Enjoy!

So far I have never been disappointed by anything Lily Harper Hart / Amanda Lee has written.
The Snarky characters and interaction keep my amused and the plot are complicated enough that I have a difficult time second guessing them.

Monstrous Seven

Hannah Hickock is a force to be reckoned with! I so wish Casper Creek were a real place because I'd love to meet the crew. Hannah is quickly figuring out her new life and it certainly looks like Cooper will be right next to her, cheering her on.

Just ok

Unfortunately it felt anticlimactic. I’m a big fan of Amanda Lee and have devoured her books as soon as they hit the shelf. This time, as Lily Harper Hart, I was expecting more. Will I keep reading? Yes. Overall I enjoy both styles.

Loving this series!

This is a fun read and an imaginative take on the "deadly seven." Hannah and Cooper continue to delight, and it is particularly enjoyable to watch Hannah's growth. This series has a well-rounded cast of characters and solid storytelling; what's not to love?!
