Not groundbreaking, but a lovely multicultural library story that's perfect for baby storytime or for parents to check out. A must purchase for public libraries!
I loved how inclusive this book was in terms of diversity and reading formats. Loved that it included audiobooks!
I thought it was a great idea to have suggested activities at the end of the book to utilize the story in another way, giving it more than one “play” usage per reading session!
My baby is a library baby ♥️ Love going with her and picking out books together
I bought this as a baby gift for a librarian friend who is having her first baby. It's a great insight of all the things babies can do in the Library... fun!

Nothing new here, but it's cute and a delight to share with my kiddo during this time when her weekly visit to the library is no more.
Love that the end gives you ideas of ways to keep the book entertaining as your kiddo gets older, or is already old enough to understand the activities.
This sweet book depicts the different activities children can participate in at the library. Illustrations show a diverse array of children. Like other reviewers note there is nothing particularly ground breaking in the text or illustrations but it’s a great way to introduce kids to the library. This would be especially useful to children on the autism spectrum who often experience anxiety at new situations. The best part of the book were the end pages which gave parents ideas on how to engage their children with the book beyond a straight read through. Children learn most from books when they are actively engaged with them and these examples demonstrate that idea to parents who may not be aware of this less traditional form of parent/child reading.
I think “Library Babies” is likely my favorite board book of 2024. The illustrations and text capture “today’s public library”—an active (often noisy!) place to discover books, explore a variety of resources, and participate in engaging activities. The final two pages include tips and prompts for caregivers to further explore the illustrations with young listeners/readers.
This will be my new “go-to” board book when expecting mothers request stories instead of cards at their baby showers. I can also imagine buying several copies to be given as gifts for families new to our small town/visiting our public library for the first time.
What does one do at the library? Well, let this book I picked at the library tell you.
These Duo Press books are all the same. Portland Baby was almost identical, frame to frame. But the illustration isn't horrid and the story, such as it is a story at all, is passable. I wouldn't recommend owning more than one of the Duo Press books but if you have one, you won't find it too disagreeable.
You know it, I know it, there's no denying it--the library is the best place around. This sweet, short story celebrates the modern public library and all it has to offer for the littles. A must read for all of our dedicated neighbors!

This is a cute little board book to go through with babies and very young toddlers. It describes the library and what happens at the library. Back matter at the back has some ideas for making the reading experience more interactive, by having your baby or toddler point to different things in the book or answer questions about the images.
It was a very easy read. It at first talks about what babies do in library’s and is very colorful. But when you get towards the end of the book it gives you different examples of questions you can ask your baby as you read. It can help a baby learn letters and other great things. It’s a great learning book for a baby.
A board book about babies visiting the library and the things they do there. This is adorable. I really like that it features diverse people, a library worker who appears to be male (often library workers are only shown as female), and it acknowledges that not all library materials are paper books. It features ebooks and audiobooks. Overall, a great board book to introduce kids to the library.
Jack borrowed this book from the Oxford Public Library. I picked it because he loves the library so much.
Naturally, Jack liked the book, too. On each page, I pointed out how he had done similar activities at the library or how our library has similar features. He enjoyed the kiddos and the books.
A diverse cast of babies show off all the fun things preschoolers can do at the library. Would make a good read aloud at baby story time if I could find a bigger format. (The board book is about 6x6).
Show your baby and children what they can do at the library with this book. Never been to the library with your young one? This will inform and excite them. There's more activities at the end of this book for parents to add extra learning.
