Now complete in one volume! Includes a special Afterword from the author.
Investigative reporter Ainsley Dumont has landed the assignment of a lifetime: prove that Rafe Garrett, NYC’s most famous billionaire, is behind the crooked development deal that’s threatening to ruin the careers of some of the country’s top political figures—including the President himself.
Rafe Garrett is a ruthless negotiator, too handsome for his own good, and a man of … particular tastes. But as Ainsley gets closer to Rafe, she learns there is more to him than what the public sees. Much more.
When sparks fly between them, she has to balance her assignment—and her ethics—against the urge to forget who she is and be what Rafe wants. But what Rafe wants is so far outside her experience, she might lose herself.
And when her search for the truth turns dangerously personal, she’s determined to face whatever she finds… no matter what it costs.
The Billionaire's Contract was previously published in 6 segments. Except for the Author's Note, the content in this volume is the same as in those volumes.
I've been impatiently waiting for Tessa to reveal these books in a bundle so I could read them all at once. She did not let me down! I loved Ainsley and Rafe's story. Romance, suspense and hot topics! I definitely recommend reading it as a bundle since there is no waiting for the other installments to come out.
Ok, yes. I admit it. I hate cliffhangers. My memory is terrible and I'm impatient. Because of this, I was waiting patiently for the series to end before I would read it... Alright, that's a lie; I was anything but patient, she might have received hate-mail once or twice, but authors love that... right?
End result? How would I wrap up my thoughts after finally FINALLY reading The Billionaires Contract?
WORTH! IT!
Ainsley is a really well written heroine. She's kind, confident and a little sassy. Sometimes authors really push the "strong independent" heroine too far and they just come off as rude and just, well, ugh. Not Ainsley though. I mean, yes she *is* holding back the truth from Rafe but it isn't malicious and she feels terrible about it.
Rafe is, wow, where do I start? Yes he's the total Alpha package. Tall, built, beautiful, strong, commanding but also kind. He's kinky but not like BDSM kinky. If you're into that noise, sorry to be the one to give you the bad news, if you aren't then YAY! Send me cookies for giving you yet another reason to love this book.
So here's the basics because if you're reading this, you're trying to decide if it's worth buying or taking up space in your KU library. 1.) No cheating *whew* I know right? 2.) Cliffhanger? Nope, not anymore! 3.) HEA? Um, that's a big heck yes. 4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Yes, there is some violence but I think there really isn't enough of it or the detail that would make you want to skim through it. It gets the point across without slapping you in the face. So I'd say you're good. 5.) Well written? Will you be constantly wondering if the author used spell check or passed 5th grade English class? It's darn near perfect! Tessa is a very talented writer. 6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? I'd say Tessa hit the sweet spot. Her sex scenes are super hot, nothing weird - I mean, cool if you like weird and all, but me? I prefer to avoid creepy stuff like blood and pee, which Tessa does - Getting back on track: As far as I'm concerned if Tessa was a pepper rated on the Scoville scale she'd be a Habanero. And there's just enough to keep you interested, but not so much that you're over it. 7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? Yes. yes. yes. My street cred will not be in jeopardy by linking my smut lovin' friends to this book.
Power struggle at its best. Wow. In the end who will win....will it be Rafe? Or Ainsley? This book was all about balance. The give and take between Ainsley and a Rafe at times put a smile on my face and other times they make me blush. Control. Everything comes down to who has it and who needs it. Whether that be in the office, bedroom or dealing with a blackmailer, someone needs to be in control. Secrets and lies are either going to break Ainsley and Rafe apart or bind them together. As the two get closer and walls are dissolving, it is getting harder for Ainsley to keep her private secrets from Rafe. But will the secret he is hiding in his closet going to be the nail in the coffin. Trust needs to be a priority for Rafe and Ainsley to make this relationship work. Secrets and lies between them will only hurt them. Can Rafe save Ainsley from the problems in his past? There is no better ending to a fabulous series than to have the main characters finally get their happily ever after. No more lies, no more secrets. Nothing but Rafe and Ainsley admitting that they love each other. This series was great.
All i can say is wow. This was the first book i have read from this author and i loved it. Rafe & Ainsley really come to life you get to see the good bad and sexy about each character it makes them feel real. Couldn't put this series down between the twists and turns of the story and the steamy scenes you won't want to either. I can't wait to recommend this book to my friends.
** I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book for my honest opinion **
This hot Billionaire Romance is full of suspenseful twists and turns, sexiness in overdrive, amazing characters, rounded out with an excellent Hea. I'm happy to read it all in one complete set! Makes Rafe and Ainsley's story all that much better!
Ainsley is an undercover reporter and is investigating Rafe's business activities and catches his interest which results in them acting on their attraction to each other. Rafe is aware that she is a reporter but everything he uncovers leads to her being a fashion reporter so even though he has doubts he still offers her a contract that he requires signed before their relationship progresses any further. Ainsley’s feelings towards Rafe continue to grow and she is now trying to clear his name rather than prove him guilty especially when he comes to her assistance. When Rafe reacts badly to something Ainsley thought would be fun she ends up in danger but will Rafe be able to rescue her in time? I loved the chemistry between Ainsley and Rafe. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I was expecting a basic billionaire romance. A lot of heat, but mostly romance, and it did start out that way. Imagine my surprise when it became a suspense thriller. Wow! The twists that happened. Gasps. Oh nos. That can't be happening. My kind of story. Good thing I got "The Complete Serial" or it would not have been.
I liked this series a lot. The chemistry between Rafe & Alesia was sizzling!! I would have liked a little more story into why Marco was deceiving Rafe and more Miles in the story but overall it was a well-written book.
I love the book. You get so caught up in what is happening to the characters. I just could not put the boomtown until I finished it. Looking forward to the next part of the story.
When I picked this book up I thought it was going to be a little like many of the other stories out there about Rich unavailable men meeting their perfect matches and in some ways that is exactly what this story portrays. However, what I think sets this book apart from all the other stories in this genre is that the characters sometimes behave in a manner that is different from what I expect.
Ainsley, like any good reporter, doesn't take anything at face value, she needs proof. But what I like most about her is that she also willing to colour outside the lines a little, ok maybe a lot in some cases. She seems to have an innate ability to inside people to their core and is able to recognize that Rafe might just be misunderstood and isn't the villain everyone wants to believe.
Rafe is a classic CEO type personality, or at least he is on the surface. I enjoyed being along for the ride as Tessa crafted his character so that he was so much more than a 2 dimensional rich bad boy. He is stone cold when the situation warrants but was soft and tender when Ainsley needed him to be kind and understanding.
I think that Tessa Blake has taken a run of the mill rich bad boy story and turned it into something interesting. She has given her characters depth and feeling. They don't always come right out and tell you that something is important but their body language and actions show their depth of feeling. Just like a real person doesn't shout out everything that they are thinking and feeling we have to pick up on the non verbal cues.
This book was a good mix of romance and suspense. I will most definitely be reading more from Tessa Blake.
Look, I didn't not like it but investigative journalist Ainsley is a walking contradiction. We first meet her on a dance floor, with a fake ID in her purse and a plan to get Rafe to notice her.. and he has. But he doesn't know she's noticed, all part of her elaborate ruse to get dirt on him and his supposed shady real estate dealings.
Rafe is your typical light-BDSM, millionaire, alpha romance novel hero. Translation - Ainsley must sign a contract in order to keep seeing him. He's also got your typical snarky assistant used to his biting attitude and sexual contracts. Then there's his right-hand man Marco, who does all his dodgy bidding and who Rafe's older brother Miles has well and truly got figured out far before Rafe catches up.
Really this was a lot of light bondage sex. A mystery non-mystery that you'll figure real quick. A supposed tough undercover heroine who turns into a wilted lettuce leaf who needs Rafe to rescue her before she gets close to investigating shit all. A messy conclusion to the dirty traitor. A bullshit resolve in the papers that is WAY too easy and convenient and so much instalove! Too much instalove.
Despite the negatives I did actually finish it all, so....
Wow wow wow!!! This 5 star rating is an understatement. This author set the bar high and broke romance molds incorporating suspense, secrets that stayed secretive, murder, and fast paced thrill. I will judge most romance's using this as a reference, which will leave me more disappointed than not. This series meets and exceeds all of your expectations. The steam was off the charts....the fast pace flow of writing isn't comparable to any other I've read before. Thank you Tessa for this work of art.
The author wrote this in parts and published them immediately according to author notes. This book is complied of those 6 parts, 10 chapters each for the full story. It is around 300 pages so average book length.
This book was better than I expected. It had a decent storyline, interesting characters, steamy sex, some violence, a bad a$$ female main character, and held my interest to the end. If you are looking for a bit of steamy sex and light intrigue, are ok with some violent scenes, this is a good choice.
I loved this book I'm glad I waited for the series finale as I'm quite impatient where books are concerned so I usually wait until a series is finished then binge read. Great characters good storyline very enjoyable will be reading more of this authors books thanks for keeping me entertained
Tessa Blake has what it takes to write the perfect story and you’ll read that when you pick up this book. Rafe and Ainsley are perfect for each other. This was an absolute incredible story and I loved it. Everything about it was so absolutely hot!! All I can say is, “Wow!!!”
I really enjoyed this series. It was engaging, interesting and full of twists and turns that kept it moving! I will definitely be reading the book about Miles and Brigette.
I loved it! I'm crazy about my romance books, and I'm super crazy for my romantic suspenses. This one was a combo of both, and I loved every minute of it!😍🔥🔥
Ainsley and Rafe meet at a charity function. He sees he and wants her. They bump into each other in the passageway and he convinces her to get a lift with him to her place. Rafe convinces her to kiss him. Oh boy, it takes off from there. Fantastic story. Each next. Hapter takes you further into this relationship.
Ainsley’s a fierce reporter on the hunt for a big story. Rafe the ultra private billionaire is drawn to the feisty intelligent woman. He’s been hurt in the past and insists on always being in control. The Contract is quite specific and Ainsley concedes to him without reading it in a moment of afterglow. Intrigue, murder, blackmail and kidnapping keep you glued to the tale.
