"Uriah's Heart" belonged to Maze
Thinking that Personal Assistant, Maze would always be by his side, controlling businessman, Uriah Baines is about to lose the love of his life!
No fear, Uri thinks quick on his toes and devise a plan in two parts.

The story starts at the end of their working relationship and works backward, so when we first are introduced to the characters, we don't have an opportunity to get to know them. This story made me feel some type of way and frankly, I was disturbed by the hero's actions. Plus, what was that abrupt ending? It stopped right at the good part.

Uriah’s Heart is a short and sweet love story about not knowing what you until it’s gone. If you’re looking for a quick feel good read with a happy ending, you should definitely give this one a try.

O Coração De Uriah
Olha, não deu pra aceitar o comportamento de Uriah aqui, não. Maze era assistente dele há 12 anos. Ela queria mais da vida e pediu demissão. Aí o cara, que teve um rodízio interminável de mulheres em todos esses anos, percebeu que sempre a amou, só não tinha se dado conta. O que ele resolve fazer? Abrir o coração, confessar seus sentimentos e tentar conquistá-la? NÃO! Ele a levou para um hotel que tinha um bar e restaurante, a deixou completamente bêbada (a ponto dela trocar as pernas, falar embolado e não lembrar de nada no dia seguinte) e depois a levou para um dos quartos do hotel com a intenção de engravidá-la. E ele nem ligava se ele ia "chegar lá" antes dela, se é que vocês me entendem. O maior objetivo dele era deixá-la grávida. Assim que ele terminou de fazer tudo (várias e várias vezes, só pra garantir), foi embora e deixou a mulher lá, daquele jeito: nua, sozinha, bêbada e sem se lembrar de onde estava ou de como havia parado lá, passando muito mal, diga-se de passagem, devido a enorme quantidade de álcool ingerido. E ele em momento algum demonstrou qualquer tipo de desconforto com isso. Depois disso foi uma sequência dele sabotando todos os planos que ela tinha feito pra vida dela: fez ela ser demitida do novo emprego, cancelou o contrato de aluguel do apartamento dela, divulgou pra imprensa que eles estava noivos pra forçá-la a ficar na casa dele a fim de fugir do assédio dos paparazzi, sabotou de alguma forma a inscrição dela na agência de encontros.... Enfim, totalmente abusivo. E não vou nem entrar na questão dele ter perguntado se ela tinha certeza que o filho era dele quando ela lhe disse, 8 semanas depois, que estava grávida (como se esse não tivesse sido o plano dele desde o começo). Totalmente frio e calculista. O título do livro está errado, porque esse homem não tem coração, não. Não deu pra mim. Merecia era a cadeia. Eu torci pra Maze fugir dele e sumir do mapa. A mulher merecia ser tratada com mais respeito. Não gostei!

Too short...but so cute
This book was fun and I really liked Uriah and Maze. He was very stubborn and he was used to having his way. Unlike some of the other alpha males we read about he was pleasantly obnoxious😁. The book could have used ten more pages.....but I still really enjoyed it.

So very short
I was just really getting into this couple, and then bam! Book over ! Smh. I appreciate the sneak peek of the Ms. Wynn's vampire book, only problem is I had already bought the book and didn't want the sneak peek. ( so I didn't read it. Simple)♡

could have been better
This book could have been so much better if there was a story. Both characters was what I was looking for however, the book was so short there was no need in writing it. I will not read the rest in this series.

2.50 Stars. (BW/WM). Kindle e-book. Interesting in a strange way...friends to lovers and marriage of convenience laced well intentioned manipulation. Maze is an attractive 35-year-old who has been the Personal Assistant to Uriah “URI” Baine (s) for over ten years. Uriah is a 40 something year-old founder and CEO of a multi-billion dollar firm, the 5th wealthiest American and one of the most eligible bachelors around. Maze is leaving Uriah’s employment because she wants a family and because she secretly loves him and knows that he has an affinity for tall White blue-eyed blondes- not women that look like her. She is also leaving for a job that reduces the hours of her work week, she’s joining a dating service in hopes of snagging a husband and into artificial insemination if That fails. Uri is hit with the reality of the old adage, “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” and he comes to the realization that as much as he misses Maze’s contribution as an employee he personally misses her more and is in love with her. Uri proceeds to execute a plan to counter and override Maze’s plan...he takes her out for drinks, gets her tipsy, has a night of unprotected sex, gets her pregnant and fired then confesses his undying love and intention to marry her. The story end with their marriage and child’s birth.

A Cute Story
I normally don't go for short stories but this one was well developed. Uriah Baine knew exactly what he wanted and planned for every little detail. Poor Macey did not stand a chance against resisting him. When Macey sobered up, she initially was not sure of Uri's intentions but his thorough planning for getting Macey exactly where he wanted her, as his wife and mother of his child, got her just where he wanted her. He was right by telling her that only life long confirmed bachelors just had not met the right person yet was so true. He knew from the time he hired her that she was special and did not put his plan into action until she quit her job. Macey tickled me in the hospital with her antics. She was so determined to be married before the baby came it was funny. I enjoyed reading this short story.

This was a fantastic read! The story plot was well developed for a short read. You got a great feel for the characters personalities. Uriah and Maze are a great couple, but in most circles what happened between them in the hotel could have resulted in legal charges against him.

A promising story
Uriah was a focussed businessman and his assistant was finished. It's the epitome of eyes being closed until you acknowledge the truth. I liked the story but it was rushed. The connection was strong and true.
Just when it's getting good the story skips ahead and ends. I wasn't ready for that before 60% of the book was completed.

Short AF
The story was good liked how he went after her once he realized she was what he needed but the time jumps just left you not knowing either character. The ending was rushed and I would have liked to know them as a couple.

Liked this alot
This was a enjoyable, quick read. I liked how Maze didn't just let Uriah bulldoze over her, but made him put forth the effort. Definitely will read other books by this author.

Cute and sweet! It was just too short for me - the characters worked together for 10 years-I wanted more of their relationship and when they fell in love but I enjoyed the book.
