Pa Raghavan
122 books284 followersRaghavan was born in Adyar, Chennai and spent his early years in many villages of Chengalpet District because of the frequent transfers of his father in his job. In the mid-1980s, his family shifted and settled in Chennai where Raghavanfinished his school and college studies in 1988. Even though he has completed a course in Mechanical Engineering, he did not want to take a job in a factory because of the interest in writing. Raghavan started his career as a sub-editor in Amudhasurabi Monthly Magazine. The famous weekly magazine kalki offered him the post Assistant Editor in 1992 after he showed his talent in humorous articles and stories.
Raghavan worked as an assistant editor in Kalki for about 8 years and joined in kumudam the No.1. Tamil weekly magazine in 2000. After completing a full year in Kumudam as Assistant Editor, he was appointed as the Editor in Charge for then newly started by monthly Kumudam Junction.
Raghavan left the magazine industry and became involved in publishing in 2003 and presently leading the Tamil Division (‘'Kizhakku Pathippagam'’) of New Horizon Media Private Limited.

நான் நீண்டநாட்களாக ஒரு விஷயம் குறித்து விசனக்கடலில் வீழ்ந்து கிடந்தேன், என்னை அந்த துன்பத்தில் இருந்து பா ரா மீட்டு விட்டார். நாம் உடல் நிலை சரியில்லை என்றால் மருத்துவர்கள் இடம் செல்வோம் அவரும் அத்தனை பரிசோதனைகளையும் செய்வார் மருந்து கொடுப்பார் காச்சல் அப்படியே இருக்கும் திரும்ப போவோம் திரும்ப மருந்து கொடுப்பார் ஆக ஒரே காய்ச்சலுக்கு பலமுறை காசை கரந்துவிடுவார்... என்ன அநியாயம் இது என்று நினைத்து வருந்துவேன் . இல்லை நேர்மையான ஒரு மருத்துவரும் இருக்கிறார் என்று இந்த புத்தகத்தில் இருந்து தெரிந்து கொண்டேன். அவர் ஒரு நொடிக்கு ஒரு முறை தான் ப்ளீஸ் வாங்குவார் அதே நோய் சரியாகாமல் திரும்பிச் என்றால் அதற்கு பீஸ் வாங்க மாட்டார் இதைத்தான் உன்னதம் என்கிறார் . பொதுவாக நாம் காதலியிடம் கண்ணே நான் என்னையே உருக்கி ஒரு கவிதை சமைத்து இருக்கிறேன் என்று கதை விடுவோம் ஆனால் உண்மையிலேயே ஒருவர் தன்னையே உருக்கி கொண்டு இசையை உருவாக்குகிறார் அவர்தான் யானி (இவரின் இசை எனக்கு சாரு நிவேதிதா மூலம் அறிமுகம்). அவர் இசையை உருவாக்குவதற்கு அறைக்குள் சென்றார் என்றால் பசி உறக்கம் தண்ணீர் என்று எந்த நினைப்பும் மற்று இசையை உருவாக்குவார் ஆகவே அவரின் உடல் எடை குறைந்து வெளியே வருவார் ஆச்சரியமாக இருந்தது. (இவரின் இசையை நீங்கள் பல தமிழ் சினிமாவில் கேட்டிருக்கலாம் வேற என்ன எல்லாம் சுட்டதுதான்) இளையராஜா பற்றி இங்கே பாரா சொல்லும் அதே கருத்தை ஜெயமோகன் சொல்கிறார். இளையராஜா இசையமைக்கும் போது கடவுளே நேரில் வந்து நின்றாலும் அந்தாள போயா என்று ஒதுக்கி வைத்து விடுவார் அப்படி வேலையில் ஒரு ஈடுபாடு .
என் அனுபவத்தில் ஒரு நிகழ்ச்சி 6 மணி என்று கண்டு இருந்தால் நான் 5 55 க்கு சென்று விடுவேன் ஆனால் நிகழ்ச்சியோ ஏழு மணிக்கு தொடங்கும் ஆகவே நான் இப்போதெல்லாம் எந்த நிகழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தாலும் ஒரு மணி நேரம் தாமதமாக செல்வதை வழக்கமாக்கிக் கொண்டேன் .ஆனால் ஜே எஸ் ராகவன் அப்படியல்ல ஆறு மணி என்றால் சரியாக ஆறு மணிக்கு வந்து நின்று விடுவார். ஜே எஸ் ராகவன் ஒரு பர்ஃபக்சணிஷ்ட் என்னும் பா ரா அவரை எட்டு கோடி தமிழர்களும் அடையாளம் கண்டு கொள்ளும் நாளுக்காக நான் காத்திருக்கிறேன் என்கிறார். எந்த எழுத்தாளரை ஐய்யா தமிழர்கள் கண்டு கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் எந்தவித அடையாளமும் இல்லாமலேயே ஜே எஸ் ராகவன் இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு முன் நம்மை விட்டு பிரிந்து விட்டார் பாராவின் கனவு நிறைவேறாமலேயே போய்விட்டது. அதேபோல் மையில்சாமி அண்ணாதுரை, விஸ்வநாதன் ஆனந்த், கல்கி ஆசிரியர், டால்ஸ்டாய், காந்தி என்று பலர் வாழ்க்கை உதாரணம்.. செய்யும் வேலையில் ஈடுபாடு அக்கறை நேர்மை கடுமையான உழைப்பு உயரிய இலக்கு என்று இருந்தாள் அனைத்திலும் உன்னதம் கைகூடும். பா ரா தன்னையே கூட ஒரு உதாரணமாகக் காட்டுகிறார் அவர் கல்லூரி படித்த போது புராஜெக்ட் செய்வதற்காக ஒரு தேங்காய் உரிக்கும் இயந்திரத்தை கண்டுபிடித்து இந்த சமூக நலனுக்காக அர்ப்பணிப்பேன் என்று சபதம் பூண்டார் அதை கண்டுபிடித்தாரா வெற்றி அடைந்தாரா என்பதை நீங்கள் இந்த புத்தகத்தை வாசித்து தெரிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

உன்னதம்.
பாரா அவர்களின் இப்படைப்பு மிக அற்புதமானது என்பதில் எள்ளளவும் சந்தேகம் இல்லை. ஆனால் காந்தியின் சில விடயங்கள் முறன்பாடா உள்ளது, வேதனை அளிக்கிறது. ஆனால் எழுத்தாளர் தனது படைப்பின் மைய்ய கருத்தை மிக தெளிவாக எடுத்து வைத்த விதம் அருமை. நன்றிகள் பல. வெல்க தமிழ். இங்ஙனம் ப. சக்கரபாணி

Worth reading.
Fantastic. Not exaggerated. Each article discusses the motivation, dedication and what not. The example mentioned in each article such as ilayaraja, yani, viswanathan Anand, ki.rajendran, and his own grand man all are excellent

An Eye-opener From Pa.Ra.
I have just now completed this no soul-stirring book after several attempts. Anyone who has an urge to excel in whatever undertaking he or she may take should imbibe the teachings, outlined in this book.

Pa.Raghavan has an excellent writing style that is thoroughly engaging and draws you completely into the subject. This book follows the same style of writing.
The stories, examples and anecdotes that he uses for explaining the concept of 'Excellent' is really good. Some of the stories are goosebumps inducing :-)
One of the minor irritation for me is that some of the chapters seem to veer off the track and could have been avoided.
Nevertheless, a book that I plan to buy and keep in my personal library! It is that excellent ;-)
