Why do some people achieve greater success and happiness than others? The key is positive psychology.

For most of its history, psychology has focused mainly on the darker side of human behaviour - depression, anxiety, psychosis and psychopathic behaviour. In 1998, Martin Seligman became president of the American Psychological Association and inspired a movement to focus on the positives in human behaviour.

Can't say I learned anything new, and reading this whole book for a few anecdotes and one or two new exercises was really a waste of time.

I've read both of Dr Martin Seligman's works on this subject before coming to this one, and I have to say this one is way more practical. Seligman's "Flourish" is a weighty tome all about the whys, and the hows of how Seligman started the Positive Psychology thing. All very well, but how to implement it? Read this book & find out. No nonsense, no beating about the bush, just good straightforward techniques that work. If you want to beat depression this is how. It works.
